2:01 and 3:09 - what Regine lacked in RnB and Soul, she made up for her strength which are the soaring high notes :) But her crystal clear tone and musical genre/roots will always hold her back from truly excelling in this genre. Though it is interesting to note that Regine has acquired a huskiness and a depth to her vocal tone in the recent years, which are prerequisites for soul. Still, she's really a power balladeer by heart and not a RnB specialist so don't hold your breath haha
as a fan of MC and Regine, this number is so unexpected lol. Regine herself said that RnB, Soul and Rap music are her weaknesses - everything that Breakdown is all about. Not the best rendition in the world but it was decent. Love her guts to take this song head on
This is my ultimate favorite mariah carey song and regine, my most favorite singer has a version of it. Not regine’s cup of tea but she still sounded great.
It's so difficult that it's rare to find Mariah herself Singing this song even in her prime. Not one TV performance from then and the few lives from back then sound like they were lipped. It's a lot of vocal transitions happening In this song.

@@Alejandro_726 alright? i posted this 2 years ago when i was 13... im going to be 16 soon. in fact my opinion changed a lot in this video, i have no clue why i said flat and pitchy note. it's more into their nasal singing and pronunciation that i should criticize. it's not the best performance but it's alright.
And I thought my singing was bad. This was absolutely awful. Regine sounds fine but the background vocals suck SO MUCH. It sounds like they are all dying.
i do agree with u , maybe they didnot have enough time to rehearse. and also rnb and soul is not regine's genre but people inthe philippines wanted her to sing a mariah carey song . btw regine did a pretty goodjob here despite of singing in the genre of rnb.( sorry if my grammar is not good im still learning)

I think Regine did a great job with the high notes in the second half. Not as soulful as Mariah in the studio version but still great. The rest is decent, It's a hard song because Mariah sings most of it in falsetto and not everyone can do that as good as Mariah. It appears to me that the woman with the sunglasses tries to sing everything in mixed voice/chest voice, while it's healthier it doesn't necessarily sound good with this song.
When Regine and Jaya need to combine because it's a mariah carey song lol. Jaya do the riffs and runs and regine for high notes. No one can be the next mariah after all. And seems Regine cant handle and uncomfortable with rappish chorus lololol
