they were 2 separated bands before. Rolling Girls and Rose Quartz. the bass is more prominent in their songs Blaze and Delight. plus official remake Good Night from dreamcatcher. a bit in Holler

In fact, indie rock was THE mainstream thing in Korea until 2005. Unfortunately there was a scandal in a TV show, which badly damaged the image of this rock scene. However, rock is slowly coming back into focus.

"In fact, indie rock was THE mainstream thing in Korea until 2005" No, it wasn't. There was never a point when harder Rock was ever mainstream in South Korea for sustained number of years. What there were were brief moments of interest in harder Rock such as when the ban on certain music genres was lifted in the 80s or in the late 90s when there was the emerging Punk scene in South Korea. But there was never a consistent time when harder Rock music was mainstream in South Korea. In fact, what you wrote literally does not make sense. "Indie" by its very definition means not mainstream. You can't have an entire indie music scene be "The mainstream". That means it's not indie anymore.

It is very disappointing that not only was no information about this song given to the reactor before the reaction, but that no one in the comment section here up till now has bothered to inform the reactor and the people running this channel that this song is a COVER of a very well known Korean Rock song from the early 2000s by Rock singer Maya. While the reactor reads in the subtitles that lyrics come from a poem, what's not made clear is the significance since it was written during Japan's occupation of Korea. So Maya's original song took the poem and infused it with original lyrics. It's so frustrating that this information was not given to a SONGWRITER for the reaction to this video. If this reactor would've had that information it could've made a difference and made it an even better video. What a shame. Yeah, it's cool to mention another Korean Rock band but if we are talking about inspiration for Rolling Quartz then it would make most sense here to bring up Maya since that is the original Rock singer who sang "Azalea". Rolling Quartz after all did a cover and Maya was the original singer of it.

@@DaRunningMan I guess our continental differences are showing. Well that and my age. I am not geeking out like some and going all the way down the media rabbit holes. Also my use of "inspired them a bit" was carefully chosen. Meaning WAU had a nice body of work on file (and before that Rubber Duckie and Swingz and as parents and aunties and uncles crossed their arms and talked about 'Real Jobs". the then girls could share major TV appearances withe mom and dad aunties and should the need arise even point out that as far back as 2001 a woman with a degree in international business was paying the bills singing kimchibilly on national TV so don't worry mom and dad we will be ok.

No. That is not accurate. That was not the "highest ever for any Korean Artist/Band/Groups." It was the highest for a Koren INDIE band. Key word is "INDIE".
