After all these years, Merle is still my favorite. This song and "Silver Wings" are two in particular. One day I found another which destroys me, it's "In My Next Life, I'm Gonna Be Your Hero." It's about an old farmer who is losing the farm and dying. Not exactly gospel, but so incredibly sad.

@The greatest to never live I just listened to Merle and Ray Charles singing Little Hotel Room. That was a new one for me. Who couldn't love the two of them and that song!

Burt reacting to the Hag.. Love it. He is so dang good and his vocals are so smooth. This "old stuff" may not get all the likes and subscribes, but it is worth remembering and introducing people to the talent of the previous generations.

His voice is really soo much better than I gave him credit for growing up. Everyone does Momma tried, but I would recommend Tonight the Bottle Let me Down, or Think I'll Just Stay Here & Drink. Best wishes 💜🙃

Man I miss this man. His voice, his writing. My friend and I were hanging out on Merle’s bus after a show, pinching ourselves, when Merle put the cassette tape from the show on and started singing along with it. Two feet from us. Surreal. He was a hoot. A National Treasure. Have you ever heard his “Today I Started Loving You Again”? So good. I’ve subscribed. How bout some Stevie Ray Vaughan performances? Here’s a great one to get you started…. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AGPx-ekqZEo.html
