girl,I basically watched all the reactions of chromatica , yours is my favorite. A lot people just screaming and none of them really get the Dance with your demon side. Thank you, actually you make me understand more of this album. Applause for you and Gaga, keep fighting.
This album is so clever because there’s more than meets the eye here. Each track has its own story, but when they are all together it becomes a bigger storyline that follows Gaga on her quest for a better place (act 1). On this quest she starts losing her control of her image and her ability to connect with people and ultimately she has a traumatic psychotic break from reality (act 2). Now that she’s alone she has to start again scars and all, and she finds a higher power, asks for help and now she is enlightened, on a new journey to teach the children about love and survival (Act 3). This is so beautiful.
When you look into the story behind Free Woman it's even deeper. If you look on Genius lyrics, it quotes her, "I was sexually assaulted by a music producer. It’s compounded all of my feelings about life, feelings about the world, feelings about the industry, what I had to compromise and go through to get to where I am. And I had to put it there. And when I was able to finally celebrate it, I said, “You know what? I’m not nothing without a steady hand. I’m not nothing unless I know I can. I’m still something if I don’t got a man, I’m a free woman.” It’s me going, “I no longer am going to define myself as a survivor, or a victim of sexual assault. I just am a person that is free, who went through some fucked-up shit.” And when you look at the lyrics, the first verse is when she started on her road to fame. She's said how she started out with this confidence that she would become famous, and that's expressed there. And I remember reading, like a decade ago, about how her first producer, right before she made it big, was very controlling, and she had to take him to court to get the rights to her own songs, and then he tried to take credit for her work. She doesn't say who it was that assaulted her, but you can draw a connection there. So she starts out with all this optimism in the verse, and then the chorus is her struggling with inadequacy as a result of her experience, and overcoming it. And then the second verse, she IS famous, she FOUGHT for the dance floor, it's HERS. I know I went on for a long time, but I'm emotional about it.

@@Luscent artpop is way underrated The fame (monster) is my favourite because it was my first album and it just brings me back to when I was young (like 10 or 11 back then) But I play Artpop more, those beats are something else

Gaga obviously listened to The Moody Blues album "Days of Future Past" from 1967. Their orchestral arrangements were very reminiscent of Gaga's stuff on Chromatica. And the moodys obviously were inspired by the Beatles usage of orchestral arranging. Gaga listened to everything her dad had, when she was a girl. She said her dad had 'everything'.
I got that too!! I didnt look and see anywhere if she said that, I know shes said she was sexually assaulted in her interview for this so I would say it is about that, Replay is my favourite song on this album at the moment
In my first time listening to this album 2yrs ago... Fun Tonight really sticks out for me... that little stop of music for her to say "I'm not having Fun Tonight" It's like saying it's okay not to be okay sometimes... After I listen to whole album my whole conclusion was... us people, we go through some bad shits sometimes, we feel pain, emotionally and mentally, and we endure it everyday.. And we totally deserves our dance floor... we fought for it...

Great reaction video. I would say the 3 best songs are Plastic Doll (the one part reminds me of Dear Jessie by Madonna), Fun Tonight ( due to sad lyrics but the beat keeps the song happy ) and Alice (as it sets the tone for the album). Her best album yet. I saw Enigma show in Vegas as well. On the floor right by the catwalk. Very fun. Think you mentioned that you went in different video...oh well. Lol. Nice to see the joy and emotion in your reaction. Only distracting part was how good looking you are....can I say that? Glad you liked Chromatica.

I love you sad bopped. I found so much sadness and comfort. I felt seen with 911. Me talking to my anxiety medication. Plastic Doll and Sine From Above. Ugh, this album.
I can't even pick a top three. I like every song , but i absolutely adore Alice, Rain On On Me, Fun Tonight, 911, Enigma, Replay, Sine From Above and Babylon (which is 9 out of 13 songs excluding the chromaticas)
911 is about a the drugs she takes for her mental health and the number also doubles meaning in the song because 911 is the emergency number in America to call for immediate medical help (as well as police and so on)
I thought of something about the song Babylon, I have no idea if it is relevant or not in terms of Gaga's intentions for the meaning in the lyrics. There is a story in the bible that talks about the city Babylon, at this time supposedly everyone spoke in one language still and devised a plan amongst themselves to get to heaven themselves so they started building a tower as tall as they could up and up into the sky. In the story I guess god takes issue with that I don't remember exactly why, but he decides to stop them by making everyone speak in a different tongue. I think this was maybe the bibles explanation for where all the different languages come from. But also gives the lyrics a double meaning, babble like gossip but also it sounded to the individuals maybe like everyone else was babbling because suddenly no one could understand each other anymore... Like I said, I have no source for this and have no idea if it was intentional or not but the lyrics have a lot of parallels that fit with the story.
i feel like most songs are a nod to other songs like babylon is a nod to vogue. theres definately a lot of "samples" and inspiration of previous songs and i love that. replay gives me daft punk vibes, it has a very crescendolls touch to the base. and enigma reminds me of dua lipa's hallucinate although both albums are from 2020 which means they kind of created those songs at the same time, lol. but they both definately took inspo of an 80s or 90s song that has similar sounds.
Apparently there's a sample in Sour Candy too! Babylon is interesting as a song that obviously nods to Vogue the lyrics are about gossips and telling them to babble on and I think it's an intentional reference to the Madonna gossip which we know effected Gaga a lot
Free Woman is instant classic vibes, Sour Candy got me into BLACKPINK (BLINKs wya), and Enigma is fucking everything. One of the albums that got me through 2020!!!!!

The reactions where extremely chopped....i mean, we didnt even react to anything because we couldnt even hear a decent amount of lyrics. A songwriter that doesnt lets us hear the lyrics....
Yeah unfortunately I had to cut a bunch down for copyright reasons though I tried to then repeat the lyrics that jumped out at me in between each song to make up for it
Also yes Babylon is Madonna all over it and it's amazing, more simple then the rest. But freaking amazing go dance to (although, vogue will stay superior)
I noticed when I was editing that the lyrics seem to be about embracing the gossip and battling on... Which in a clearly Vogue-inspired song seems all a bit meta...
@@Luscent for me the only one that will probably become a skip is 911, I love the old gaga vibe. But the songs is the only one on the album that just isnt doing it for me
