I was a little nervous going into this album considering I wasn’t 100% sold on some of the singles yet, but I’m so glad Charli came through in the end. What a great album! Enough variety and surprises to make for just an overall solid pop record
I cannot wait for your reaction to her album Charli! Such a fully formed pop album with amazing self reflective lyrics that i just need your input on! Love your take on music so much and how open-minded you are. Lot of love!
Daaaamn it, you're so spot on on "Move Me"! Charli had a relationship with her ex-boyfriend for 7 years. Even tho this is really long they hadn't spend more than 2 weeks in a row together because of their busy life. This changed during the lockdown when they were locked together. During this time she produced a MASRTERPIECE mixtape in less than 2 months named "How I am Feeling Now" (btw you should totally React to that, it's her most HYPERPOP work and it's about lockdown and her relationship. Unfortunately between this and "CRASH" they ended their relation, so you guessing all that just from the lyrics is amazing, great work!
@@Luscent you’re welcome! Also I feel bad that I didn’t say anything about your work 😅 I really enjoy your work! Your reactions mix vibing with the song with space to admire the instrumental and explanation to lyrics. You’re not one noted and that’s cool, so keep up with the nice work!
I actually think this a great album as an intro to charli. It’s not as intense and wild as some of her other projects, so people who become fans through this album will learn a different side of her by going through her hyper pop eras.
as far as next albums by Charli, HIFN is literally about her lockdown experience with her now ex bf so I love how that leads to Crash. But Charli is a great intro, sonically, to HIFN so I’d have to say Charli should be next. Then HIFN. Then True Romance, then Sucker.
The most I listen to this album the more I love it! Charli is such a genius! Love her with all my being! Can't wait for you to react to Charli and How I'm feeling now.
I was looking for your reaction to Ashe's album "Ashlyn" and realized you haven't done it. If you haven't listened to it yet on your own, I really recommend for you to do it on a video, it's such a perfect album production-wise and lyrics-wise. Love you😍
Please go check out her interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. She’s such a beautiful person and really kind of represents a whole generation of artists. And it’s especially moving when she talks about her friend and producer SOPHIE who passed away last year and how she influences her music and the song Twice.
I totally agree with what you’ve said about Beg for You and Used to Know Me. It’s too close to the sample for me to feel anything new toward it. Very fun songs though.
@@Luscent well not anymore a few hours after this comment it was announced that it was delayed to next week/ in two weeks or so because the tracks aren't 100% ready
I kinda want to request for you to react to SoftCult’s newest EP “Year of the Snake”. They’re a duo dream pop/alt rock band and super talented twin sisters. They have music videos for every single song they’ve put out and are all around a good vibe. They’re a bit small so naturally they have no reaction videos :(
I’m sure you have a lot of albums on your list to listen to; but if you ever get the chance you should listen to IGOR. Although it won a Grammy as a hip hop, album it is NOT. It’s much closer to a pop/soul album. It’s one of the best recent breakup albums and each track has top tier production.
Yuck reminded me thematically of Ariana Grande’s bloodline from Thank U Next. Love both those songs, the sense of humor in both of them is just so fun and contagious
Hey Fern! Glad you liked the video! You know what's even funnier I've been working on a song with a thunder and lightning sample too hahaha I did actually mention it but had to cut it because that section was sooooo long 😅😂
i love constant repeat because it makes me question myself and gives me the desire and necessity of being a person with such a confidence like that by maybe, getting a new shape all formed by not thinking twice about it because someone moves me even though it makes me yuck but at the same time beg for that person, which will eventually come in a crash of emotions and thoughs and shapes and i hope not a babye...okno this album already gave me a new shape of self... i love so much charli and now im loving your reactions, greetings from Mexico :DD But yes, my fav so far is constant repeat, now im aspiring to be a person alike by destroying all my fears, my anxieties, etc, etc... IM OBSESSED
K but like y'all should get distrokid if ur looking to independently release your music it is so good I've had it for like a year now and it's SO much better than repost by SoundCloud by like a LANDSLIDE
Yuck sort of reminds me of Make Me Like You by Gwen Stefani. I don't know what it is but hearing the former song for the first time brought me back to that latter song somehow.
This album is a tone poem and ode to pop music. There are so many Easter eggs. I just figured out the song Yuk is referring to, it’s Grandmaster Flash’s “The Message”. It’s a shout out, not a sample.
@@thesovgc to me the most recognizable thing Crazy in Love borrowed was that horn line which is iconic. It didn't use that entire chorus and build a different one centering around that horn line. I think it's a more clever way to just some elements/instruments instead of the melody.
