Very informative video! Thanks for taking the time to produce and upload. You mentioned that due to the adaptive nature of the Smart:deess and the latency that it inevitably introduces, it wouldn't be suitable for live performances/recordings. I just wanted your thoughts about which plugin you'd personally opt for, in real-time recording environments.
The Weiss Deess has never let me down for live vocal tracking because of its low-latency mode. Another one, which I didn't mention, is the Merging Deesser, also with a low-latency mode. In a pinch, and relatively low-cost because most people have one or can get a free one, is a dynamic EQ, like the TDR Nova. dynamic EQ from Tokyo Dawn records. I have a video one that. Lastly, you can go down the hardware route...but I'm assuming you're talking ITB (in the box) solutions.
