The actual reason while not not perfect does make a bit more sense. Mephiles as part of solaris the time god knows the past, present and future and as such puts things into play based on that knowledge. He doesn't necessarily need silver to kill sonic as much as he needs sonic and elise to form a bond through out the story. While the game says if elise cries it will release iblis that's not necessarily true the actual lore reason the one not mentioned in game and YES! sega are morons for leaving details like this out of their own plot is that if elise falls into despair THEN iblis is released, not tears but suffering a complete mental breakdown. Elise had to grow a bond with sonic so that when he's killed it will deal a heavy blow to elise psyche and of course release iblis. Ultimately mephiles need the events of the game to happen otherwise killing sonic would be pointless.
Honestly it makes sense that Silver would accept Mephiles' help. From the day Silver was born to the point that Mephiles showed up, he's been battling Iblis on a planet dominated by his flames of disaster for his entire life. He was trusting out of desperation. Not just being naive.
Funny thing is this is the reverse from canon, Blaze was the one sceptical, but like she said what other options do they have. Plus from what we know they never mention anyone else so whether or not to trust someone may not cross their minds at the time with a massive reviving fire demon/god running around. Also Mephilese loves messing with people
I just assumed Mephiles did all this because he loves to give his enemies false hope and mentality break them before finishing them off. Sure he could just take out Sonic right then and there. But for him, where’s the fun in that? Why not have someone willing to do anything for a better future do it instead? And then crush their hopes knowing that they’re the reason it all happened? Plus, the game would be way too short if the climax took place in the first five minutes.
I mean I’m not usually the first to defend 06’s story but it’s not impossible for a single person to exist in multiple timelines or even dimensions. 06 kinda just says that there are two blazes, one from Sonic’s world and one from og Blazes world. Sonic’s world Blaze just happens to be born years into the future. Heck it’s possible that Blazes world even had a Sonic at one point if we follow this logic.
@@ArtskyHSS ironically, Blaze's Japanese bio from 06's beta states that she's conscious of her small chest _(although this part was presumebly dropped at some point; still, the fans who know about this fun fact will not let you forget, as evidenced here)_
@@jokx4409 ...In this context (which is to say, the _Sonic_ fanbase), it feels a lot like calling someone on youtube an "internet commenter" as an insult. It... doesn't work, I mean you might as well call any Megaman fan who likes Zero a robot-fetishist. XD
Mephiles knew he's already won after he's freed from his prison. Knowing his character, he's sadistic enough of giving Silver false hope, he likes screwing with everyone to his favour.
Explains his messing with Shadow too, he's already winning, he might as well taunt Shadow and mess with him more. After all, that future he keeps bringing up won't really be happening once Mephiles is finished...
Silver, Blaze, and the fanbase at large: I don't understand why your plan is so stupid. Mephilis: Well I was trying to be gentlemanly and give you all a sporting chance... Mephilis with a gun: *BUT IF YOU INSIST.*
I mean, Sonic and shadow still beat his ass in their boss fights. Silver was only a threat when catching them by surprise (his cheap shot in his first boss against Sonic)
I feel like silver needs a power boost maybe something like a kaiju or a susano or maybe even evolve his powers into force field manipulation like invisible woman because he was pretty evenly matched with shadow until he used his chaos powers and all silver really has is his psychokinesis and a few projectiles
So then why doesn't he just time travel to a point where iblis isn't sealed in her and fuse with him there? This whole, " make Elise cry so she releases Iblis" plot is so damn contrived... 😮💨
@@DSmith3279 because if you put yourself in Mephiles' shoes, "Where's the fun in that?" Him fusing with Iblis was never a matter of if, but a matter of when. And because of that fact and given his sadistic nature, of course he's not gonna just rush to his end goal when he can take his time and have fun tormenting people along the way to his goal for his own sick kicks.
Mephiles: I mean, I'll be honest, I was going to do that anyway. I was just hoping I could see you make fools of yourself for a while to entertain myself.
Here's another logic that makes no damn sense. People think that silver can't change the future when sonic saved elise and crisis city is still there. How the FOURTH can saving a princess's life fix the *200yr* future?
I always saw it as a way for Mephiles to have Elise build up an emotional bond with Sonic in order to make her cry and release Iblis. I mean Elise somehow between the time that her father died and the events of Sonic 06 didn't cry once at all until Sonic's death. Either she is just uncaring aboutthe people and things around her or she has been on medication to suppress her emotions since she was a kid.
I think there's a reason why he doesn't do it at first, it's simply because he's a sadist. I mean think about it, he tries to convince shadow humanity is evil, he manipulates silver to almost kill sonic, he even gets to omega, and he even relishes in killing sonic and making elise cry. The only times he does actually intervene is when things don't go his way. Like when shadow's will proved to bee to strong so mephilis attacks him, or the moment when he kills sonic as deminstated. Mephilis is truly one of sonic's best villains.
you realize he still kills sonic? 🤦♂mephiles only tricked silver cause he's evil and wants to manipulate everything around him, silver only believed him cause there is literally barley ANYONE alive 200+ years in the future so he's gullible 🤦♂🤦♂ one thing that ACTUALLY doesn't make sense is how silver comes back in every game, like in colors ds, or generations and forces, im sure that he can't time travel by himself cause thats not one of his powers, mephiles is the one who time travels, so how tf does he keep coming?? in the comics he uses a ring i thing.
"you mean a blue hedgehog is what does it" Didnt a princess crying cause it? Butterfly effect is a bitch. "A guy conveniently showed up with all the answers, why should we trust him?" Because theres no other chance and even if he is lying, going back in time is still enough to allow them to save the world so they have no real choice. Kinda hard to see a downside when the world is burning at the stake. Plus silvers naive af
@@DragonKingMadaraUchiha shut up. Your harrasment is unwanted. Everytime you reply to a comment like "um actually you are a poopy fart🤓" it doesn't correct them or make you look good it just makes you look stupid
"He's kind of a pushover." Silver, you lost that fight and had to rely on a sneak attack to get the little victory you got. If he is a pushover then what are you?
Hey there! I'm an AI channel for Sonic Content! I was planning a special video with time travel and was wondering if you were interested in potentially collabing with you and other creators if you're down! Maybe a potential Sprite universe as a scene
I guess the reason for why Mephiles got silver and blaze to try and kill sonic was so he could go and take out shadow since if he tried to kill sonic himself he would’ve had his guard up and not to mention plus who knows maybe he killed Shadow in silvers timeline then again speaking of why doesn’t Mephiles just go after the chaos emeralds cus Mephiles is already there in silvers timeline ._. *jesus Christ I’m still surprised this story is still somewhat decent even with this many plot holes*
And wouldn't it be two emeralds of the same colour in the present if Silver and Blaze took one into the past? Would it have been funny if the emerald they took back just broke in front of them...
And then there's the fact that Blaze is two separate characters, yet SEGA, Character In-Depth, and Ace Card Gaming want us to accept the one that's Silver's mature-than-him foil. "You're a dork, but I like that about you. Continue to be my flawed "relatable" loser". * proceeds to disappear in flames and leaves Silver alone * Blaze didn't have to be involved in this, and Sonic Rivals was a better _foundation_ for Silver's character/introduction. Execution-wise, not so much. They didn't even try in that game.
And yet, ironically, Mephilis does just that. Sega could've just dropped Silver and focused on Meph-- Oh wait, Sega always has to bite off more than they can chew. That and the horrid development cycle.
@@DragonKingMadaraUchihawhy do you think everyone is a hater? Don't get me wrong but, horrid development cycle is kinda a perfect way to describe sega. Eg: Shadow, in adventure 2 heroes and o6 he was perfect then overtime he just became a stereotypical edgelord
There was nothing logical or smart about this video. It makes perfect sense for Silver to trust Mephiles. He doesn't have any other options. Silver made the logical and smart decision in canon to go with the only pragmatic decision he was left with instead of doing nothing.
@@DragonKingMadaraUchiha no they don't mean the creator is a kid, they're saying blaze and silver are kids so they arent logical and smart Also what the hell is your problem? I get that you're a fan but you're bashing on everyone in the comment section
Yeah though the writing, character decisions, and Continuity are all heavily Flawed to the point of memes! Yet the Three Best parts of the game that bring a "Silver lining" over its glaring Criticism: the Music🎶 🎵 , The Gameplay, and the Villain Himself! 🤩
Ah yes, schrodinger's Blaze Silver accidentally prevents another CoD Zombies Chronicles Paradox by letting the '06 Canon cat to split herself in two, thus not sending her Into other Sonic Canons continuity... and then undoing it. Are we sure this isn't Bayonetta 2 all over again...?
i mean sonic only becomes the catalyst until he bonds enough with elise otherwise killing him wont be enough to release iblis, wich makes me think sonic would have put elise in safety far too easy without silver's interventions, thus making their time together far shorter and bonding considerably less
The answer to why mephiles didn't do this was explained in the game in little parts. as we know iblis can only be brong out by Elise crying which is why he wasn't brong out when the ship crashed. mephiles answered shadows question "the answer is yes and no". yes couse mephiles attacked sonic in the future which showed by the chaos emerald silver looked through (a vision)was after the ship crashed and from that iblis appeared. no, couse iblis appearing was mainly thanks to sonic and showed in game mephiles can use one chaos emerald to bring the others to him to fuse with iblis, however something happened to the chaos emeralds in the future which had mephiles search for them in the past, so sonic did something with the chaos emeralds which made it impossible for mephiles to fuse meaning iblis was stuck out in the world. this is most likely why mephiles had silver go after sonic, as long as sonic isn't searching for the chaos emeralds and focused on something else he won't be able to stop mephiles and won't be able to couse the event which started the events of silvers future. in short silvers future was created do to Elise crying after mephiles attacked sonic but sonic did something with the chaos emeralds which made mephiles unable to fuse with iblis and so mephiles needed to time travel in order to look for the emeralds and needed to make sure sonic didn't know about any of this or the chaos emeralds.
Mephiles needed silver to distract sonic so he could catch some stain on shadow but eneded up getting smacked so he just said ight I’m going to just kill this one at least he looks like shadow shii BACKSHOTS sonic
It would have made more sense if instead of Time Travel it would have been Dimension Travel, like Mephiles isn't able to get out from let's say: "the Sol Dimension". Until either Silver or Blaze do something in Sonic's Dimension.
I think the reason why Mephiles couldn't kill Sonic from the beginning is because he has to break Elise to release Iblis. What point is to kill him if they don't have a bond? But, I DO wonder... what happens if Elise die instead? Does Iblis die with her?
