This was the last big project SEGA ever made with a Sonic game, I feel that after this, every game has been the same, same gameplay, same simple and boring story. Don't get me wrong I like Sonic Unleashed and Generations but it's just that every sonic game after 06 felt very similar to each other, the storylines were a bit lame, Tails was slowly falling into an absurd character, no help at all. SEGA need to push more mature storylines and desperately change the gameplay to make Sonic great again
I agree with you. I feel that the reason the new games differ horribly for the most part is because this franchise is being directed to be more kid friendly than the stuff we grew up with. Up to this game, near the end of the story of the games, you had one big dark scenario, including some scary monster, with a major world crisis, where you needed super sonic to thwart the evil. Now they have all these kiddy extra characters and all, which takes away alot of that dark ending twist the way we once knew. On Sega's end, it's a smart move, as parents will go crazy buying their kids these games for christmas, even if they cost you a leg. WAY more than what we paid back then. I would gladly give up not just this franchise, but most video-game franchise's graphical quality, if it meant having a strong solid story like the older games. And let's not forget how we usually get sold with DLC content that is either useless and unrelated to the game itself often, or content that should have been in the game to begin with.
@@willmelendez3843 I couldn't agree more. I think that with a good marketing work, a new gameplay style for Sonic and a deeper storyline wouldn't affect their profits negatively. They could bring back the passion to older fans, even now as adults. I think Forces makes a good start for this, I'd love it if they follow that path for future Sonic games (with better level design if possible)
@@alekspro003 I really hope so, I don't think I can stand another bland storyline, I got burned bad by what was basically false advertising with Forces. It doesn't have to be Adventure 2 or 06 levels of seriousness, but just be something more than Colors styled writing.
Yeah every sonic game now is like them trying to remake sonic heroes or sonic adventure gameplay , same gameplay over and over. I miss the free roam games of sonic.
Am I the only one that actually like this game and the story? I mean it's not perfect and the dialogue is borderline cringey at times but that's just about every Sonic game. I actually enjoyed it a lot. I feel like it gets a lot of unnecessary hate.
i think the story is alright. the glitches,boring levels,and cringey dialogue and the kiss scene are what makes everyone hate the game. but i agree,the game is a little underrated. i think it would be better if elise were in less cutscenes though.

To be honest, 06 has too much to be adapt into a movie, some parts of Shadow and Silver story will definitely be left out in order to fit the movie length. Plus, Elise and her city might not even fit into movie Sonic timeline. But i wouldn't mind it if Paramount managed to fix the game's story and make it better

My opinion: I kinda want to promote and slap whoever made this game. I love most of the story and I absolutely LOVE how they wrote Shadow here, but this game really emphasizes all of the bad ships (SonicxElise, ShadowxRouge, and SilverxBlaze) and that kiss, just no. Despite all that it's still my third favorite Sonic game.
It didnt push Shadow-Rouge or Silver-Blaze tho. Rouge is clearly painted as being Shadow's best friend, not lover. And Blaze is more portrayed as a big sister to Silver, with only a slight romantic undertone during his ending
I would imagine if it was based on this game or at least inspired. They would do a new Star Wars trilogy were the main misguided protagonist goes back in time after being manipulated by the last follower for the separate alliance and the last apprentice of count Dooku to go back in time and eliminate Anakin Skywalker one week before the both the Empire and the first order would be Risen. But later the main antagonist main intentions was not only getting rid of Anakin to erase history, but also getting revenge on Palpatine’s betrayal so he would rule the galaxy his way.
According to the wiki, the cutscene at 5:06 is supposed to take place after 1:34:21 because Mephiles had only acquired the Purple Chaos Emerald and only then could he have met Silver to trick him

When Venice was Silver's age, he was voiced by Pete Capella… Elise mistook Sonic for Venice at the beginning. Wish they made a film where his character was explored deeper. The Hunt For The Iblis Trigger… in that film, when he was older, he was voiced by Josh Robert Thompson in his Morgan Freeman styled voice. Sonic, would be voiced by Kevin Conroy (or Roger Craig Smith making an impersonation of his voice).
I thought shadow’s story began first than silver’s cuz thats when mephiles started to appear again from the scepter of darkness and when he took shadow and rogue to the future timeline I would’ve assumed that he also went there to meet up with silver and blaze
i think this is like how Mephiles talks about he already knows Shadow when they are first meeting in Kingdom Valley, but Shadow doesn't know him because the events that Mephiles is talking about hasn't 'canonically' happened yet. Mephiles is kinda tricky because he can be at any point in time and thus kind of knows the future. my guess is that when Mephiles warps Shadow and Rouge to the future he also goes but that's when he seeks out Silver, since he isn't with Shadow and Rouge in the following cutscene.

When you put the cut scenes in the right order the plot isn't that hard to understand. It still sucks ass but at least know I somewhat understand what the hell is happening.
