Sonic Advance 2 - All 98 Special Rings 

I hate using guides but I had to with how ridiculous it is to find every ring with a single life just to have a go at attempting to try the special stage. Last time I completed this I used a game genie after I beat the main game. Thanks for making this video.

Gives greater appreciation for how, in Sonic Colors for instance, the special rings were posted in order of progression appearance to make them a little easier to pinpoint on top of not needing to be collected all at once in a single try.

If the game wanted to put more emphasis on speed they should've just went with the Sonic 1 style of getting to the special stages.

Love the game but collecting the chaos emeralds are WAY too hard

I actually bought the strategy guide along with the game when it came out. The special stage are probably the hardest to access than any other Sonic game and the special stages are among the hardest as well.

I just collected all 7 chaos emeralds for all 4 characters including Amy and I feel so defeated now. But I’d have to give props to this video for making the experience less painful.

I beat the game with the secret final boss last night, had a peaceful sleep, woke up, and all my data was gone.

This is genuinely the most impressive gameplay I’ve ever seen. I love it!

It's videos like these that make me glad that youtube has a slow down feature. I'm sorry dude, but you're going way too fast. I know that's a weird thing to say in a Sonic game, but in this case, I really need time to precess what's going on to find those damn rings.

Can proudly say I got the emeralds without any guides, Mostly because I did had the physical as a kid. You only need to find the special rings in one act per zone. So do the one you perfer better. Trust me, if you are trying this for the first time, use a flyer like Tails or Cream. It'll save you the pain when you do them as Sonic later.

The best Sonic Advance game has the ABSOLUTE WORST method to reach the special stages along with really hard special stages as well!

If you're emulating the game, do yourself a favor and use the "Lower SP Ring Requirement hack". This romhack makes it so you only need to find THREE of the SP rings to enter a bonus stage.

I can not fucking believe I had to use a guide ALL because I was playing this earlier (On the 26th of feburary) and somehow managed to get 7 Special Rings as Tails on the first level, only to fail the special stage itself from figuring out how to control it as I have never been in these special stages, BY 1 SINGLE RING, ON MY FIRST, EVER, DAMN, TRY! That I damn smacked my DS although I was tempted to take the game out while it was still on, that was how much I did not care and was angry, YES, 299/300 rings! Thank you, you are a lifesaver with this guide ^_^ Edit: I got my hands around the controls now and managed to easily breeze the first special stage after trying again, I was avoiding the red circle like as if they were bombs originally hence why I was being careful, but now I know that is not needed, lel

If you're having problems following what's going on, try slowing the video down to .5 or .25 speed.

"Treasure hunting" in sonic was good only in first Adventure (or maybe in third Advance) *Change my mind*

As a Sonic fan who loves the Sonic Advance games and wishes they would be re-released like the Classic games do, they REALLY need to change the way the special stages are accessed, in this game in particular. Both finding the rings AND the stages themselves are WAY too difficult. Finding the rings is already hard, but good FUCK the special stages play horribly. You have to get 3 HUNDRED rings in 119 seconds. *That's way too many rings with way too little time for a special stage that either moves WAY too SLOWLY or WAY TOO FAST.* It probably wouldn't be as bad if like Sonic Advance 3, you started out having to collect only 60 rings and it GRADUALLY increased to 300. The special stages themselves actually don't seem that bad if you actually would have a chance to GET USED to them...

What happened to collecting 50 rings then reaching for a checkpoint??

You only need to get the rings in one of the acts to get the emerald, or is it both? I wasn't set on collecting the rings until I found out that Tiny Chao Garden is locked behind it

Playing the levels in this way at this pace does not help anyone, you made everything so much more difficult than it had to be If anyone’s still trying to get the emeralds, only play these levels -Leaf Forest 1 -Hot Crater 2 -Music Plant 2 -Ice Paradise 2 -Sky Canyon 2 -Techno Base 2 -Egg Utopia 2

That second boss fight is the middle finger when it comes to RNG, literally that cannon is a bit RNG based i've had it fire completely OVER me when i would be on the ground, but every time i try to do those techniques i get an explosion to the face

Does getting all the sp rings unlock anything? Or is it just collecting the emeralds with multiple characters and what not? I'm just wondering if u get anything for getting all of them specifically, cause otherwise I may not need to see the locations in the games' act 2's...

I hate having to collect these special rings in order to get to the special stages. I mean seriously! What even is the point of collecting the chaos emerald if none of the characters, especially sonic can't go super, even if each character has all 7 chaos emeralds???

This game is seriously awful, design-wise. Sure, it isn’t broken like some of the 3D games but the level layouts and bosses are some of the worst in the series’ history. And then they make you go through them just to grab every single one of these stupid special rings in a single run with little opportunity to backtrack just to give you one try at an awful special stage. And the real kick in balls is that the developers really expect you to do this with every single character. Dimps really dropped the ball here which is a shame because the pixel art is quite good.
