Sonic Adventure 2 HD (PS3): Enter Test Level With Sonic!

When Shadowtheglitchhog informed me about Eggman being able to enter the test level by grabbing the first chao key in Cosmic Wall, I decided to look into the matter myself. When you grab the first chao key in Cosmic Wall with Eggman, the chao key never gets to its intended position, which sends you to the test level upon finishing instead of the chao garden. Keeping in mind what I recently found out in Crazy Gadget, I decided to attempt grabbing a chao key as the level was fading out. The result is being able to access the test level with Sonic. If you want to do this on your own, be sure to skip over the last checkpoint, as the second to last checkpoint has a chao box right before it. What you want to do is have a spin dash charging in such a fashion that the screen fade will automatically make you release the spin dash (which is better than trying to time a spin dash yourself). I'm still looking for more glitches in this game, it's nice to see more stuff being discovered. Enjoy! ^_^

I guess I know how this is enabled! When you collect the Chao Key and the screen fades, it tries to load the next level as well as the Chao Garden. This causes an error, which a Test Level is in place to prevent the game from crashing. This means, it glitches and instead of the intended level, the Test Level was put as the intended level's place.

...Or maybe, when Sonic dies and wins, he collects the Chao Key right before the fadeout, and as a result, the game doesn't have enough time load the correct Level ID. This results in the game defaulting to ID 0, which is the Test Level. If I'm right, then it was likely done to prevent severe glitching or the game crashing.

I've heard that it has to do with what level it has set to load, depending on if you're in story mode or level select it changes the variable from next mission to level select screen, but after you hit the Chao Key it resets the variable to its base value of 0. Of course in normal play you'd finish collecting the Chao Key which would show the icon and change that variable to the chao garden. If you beat the level before the key finishes collecting the level select is at 0 and you load the test room

+Stormtali Believe it or not, if you keep falling long enough, you'll actually land on an invisible floor but it takes a REALLY long time. I think at LEAST 20 to 30 minutes.

It's called a superbounce. What you do is spindash towards a wall, and jump and bounce just before you reach it. When you make contact with the wall in your bounce state, it glitches the physics engine and transfers your horizontal momentum into vertical, allowing those high bounces. The closer to the wall you are when you bounce, and the faster you're moving when you hit the wall, the higher you go. The timing is a little tricky until you get the hang of it.

He says "Not my day" in the Japanese version. The U.S. version of SA2 has a few differences in the quotes. He also says "That was cool" when you get an A, whereas in the Japanese version he says "That was tight" in Engrish. All the characters have some quote differences, but it's more noticeable with Sonic because of all the Engrish he uses in Japanese. In Heroes his quotes are the same in both versions.

I've found another glitch inside the Test Room while playing as Sonic: Go to the wall in the left area, the one with a doorway and a Somersault space. Charge your Light Attack, keep holding the button, and walk towards the Somersault hole. The game will force you into a somersault but won't remove the charge, and if you make it through to the other side during a Somersault, you will charge another Light Attack. This can be done multiple times, adding 3 more lights to the charge every time.

Far better than any other game I have ever played.I feel so happy that I got to play something this wonderful. This was not my first game that I ever played but I think that more Sonic games need physics like this.

Whoever you go there as. It's associated with the glitch. Unless you're asking who Sega used to test the physics primarily in which case I'm not sure but most likely Sonic for the speed stages Eggman for the shooting and Knuckles for the Hunting. Because Tails, Shadow and Rouge weren't supposed to be in the original.

Action Replay is also used for this. It's cool. The codes make it so ANY character can be in ANY level. Mechless tails in Test level seems to freeze the game though.

This glitch is able to be done with hacks. (No chao key though.) Go to Green Hill, die in the water after getting to the goal ring. Get into it after the screen fades, after he says "YES!" Go to the goal ring again. (You need the final checkpoint) Go into it as you are getting scored. It will freeze after it fades.

There is a secret room with omochaos in, as far as I know it's impossible to get to in the proper buyable version but can be reached in the demo.

Removing some debug stuff (maps/models) that have valid pointers and/or are present in several arrays/lists/trees would screw up the entire data structure or present possibility for new, untested glitches. That's why they are normally hidden and unaccessible, but present within the game. Plus this is just a port, the porting team probably didn't want to screw around much with the code and remove something (or at least correct the Key Glitch). Cheers. :)

The hardest part is timing. Super bounces, the thing that was used to jump to the bottom of purple, are just done by spin dashing towards a wall and bouncing right around you hitting it. Then it's just timing the difference between death and goal collection and getting the key and finishing the level

i got here with eggman somehow and all i did was complete the level normally it seems theres a small chance to come here when you have the chao key normally and a obvious bigger chance when you glitch to it

If that happens it means that you touched the goal ring too soon, the screen should be fading to black before you touch the goal ring.

You have to jump below the Goal room, then land on the area you just jumped off of, and then jump back in and touch the Goal Ring. Sorry if I made no sense.

and here i thought i was the only one to get the glitch level after reading it it sounds right i got a chao key with eggman and it wasn't the normal icon when i beat the level i got there and thought WTF how did i get this glitch level. its funny that its still in the new release for the ps3 and not taken out to save dl space o well

I downloaded the game off Microsoft Live for Xbox 360, I went through the level as Eggman and I think I even got a E rank and somehow, I am at the test level right at this moment. 0_o

Right after sonic says "barely made it" start using your spin dash for about two seconds then let go and you should be able to enter the test level

Trust me, it's hard to time it right. The way I got it is by charging the spindash, and right before the fadeout, Sonic automatically stops charging the spindash, and then just touch the Chao Key. Sorry if I make no sense,

I'm not sure if I did this right. spin dashed into the choa key right as the game faded away. however, it took me to the choa garden anyways. then when I tried to leave the choa garden, the game locked up.

Im on the xbox version. I did it exactly like the video, grabbing the key last second with the automatic release of the spindash. However, it just brought me to the chao garden still :/
