Sonic Adventure 2 is very important game that sadly I think many kids nowadays won't understand. It was Sonic's last game on a Sega console & his first game on an Nintendo console which was mind blowing.
Some corrections on Characters Big, Tikal and Chaos DO appear in SA2 (via Cameo/Enemy/Multiplayer) Gamma himself doesn't appear in SA2, but there's mass produced E-100 series robot called E-1000

I'd like Sonic in SA2 as much as I do in SA1, but I can't because of the somersault move. Nerfed the spin dash to be closer to the 2D game's spin dash, and punishes players who played SA1 by killing their momentum if they dared to spin dash without coming to a complete stop.
SA1 is better than SA2 SA1 Sonic ≥ SA2 Sonic/Shadow More open levels, no spindash delay in SA1. but I admit SA2 gave improvements like grind rails and better light speed dash. SA1 Knuckles > SA2 Knuckles/Rouge Much better and fair emerald radar in SA1, and the levels are more fun than SA2's. SA1 Tails > SA2 Tails Let's be honest, Tails should run on feet instead of using mechs. SA1 Gamma > SA2 Tails/Eggman Gamma feels faster and more satisfying to play than Tails/Eggman mechs. Between the two, Eggman benefits from having better levels and upgrades in comparison to Tails. And even Amy can be fun in SA1 too. The only big letdown is Big's gameplay in SA1 which is basically the only really bad thing from that game. And yeah, SA2 Chao Garden is better than SA1's.
Tails for sure is better. Knuckles is debatable. I like the levels in SA2 a lot like pumpkin hill. I am not a huge fan of gamma or Eggman but probabyl would choose gamma
While i do Prefer the name Robotnik. He was always Eggman in japan...Death EGG. And in Sonic 2 for the genesis you can still see the name Eggman around Flying Fortress Zone. Now a days the canon is that his really name is Robotnik, while Eggman is a nickname
As much as i like sa2 i will always like sa1 more. I like sa1 more cause it was the first video game i have ever played. My first console was a dreamcast
Now that I’ve played both, I can finally say that I like SA2 more. However, I feel like if anyone would review both of them, we should review the Dreamcast versions because they’re the overall better versions despite not playing them myself. The original version of SA1 had less glitches, and looked a bit better aside from the character models, and SA2 had better lighting in the original version. Yeah, shocked that the original SA1 had less glitches than the port. But even then, both versions are still great. Oh yeah, and Big the Cat was in the original version of SA2, but only as small references in levels and cutscenes. But yeah, I did like SA2 more, but if I want to compare them better, I should get the Dreamcast versions.
The original will always be my personal favorite of the two but Sonic Adventure 2 is the better game. I was disappointed when I first played the 2nd game there was no hub world to explore like the original with Station Square & Mystic Ruins. The first time playing the original & finding those keys and exploring where to take them to open a stage part of the fun. It was like I was on an adventure. The destination was the same but how we got there was different. Still feels awkward nowadays having Sonic shower & Tails watching him but I guess I'm watching him to. So am I really any different, not really. That's all my thoughts so far.
1:33 I think you got a Dreamcast now? I don't and as cool as it would be to have one I refuse to buy another console unless it's the Switch 2 or an Evercade VS.
Another great video and the quality was really good also 👍🏻 both of these games are games I played for countless hours as a kid and an adult 😂 I'd say sa2 is definitely better especially control wise and design wise but both games are classics and the music in both are just to good to even put into words. Both games take me back and the moment I hear there soundtracks I'm immediately hooked. These games made me a Sonic fan and then I played the originals on the Sonic mega collection 👍🏻 one day maybe you should review all the different Sonic collections, there's a ton of different versions. Best ones are sonic mega collection and Sonic Gems collection you probably already know about them but yeah those are great also. Great vs videos keep it up 👍🏻
sa 1 have a great gameplay but diologs were so goofy sometimes this made this game so unpolished and like retarded and levels as well were too easy these wasn't even a challenge, so sonic team got realised and made sa 2 which finally turned diologs in just fine state, they even fixed odd sonic's complexion. Gameplay as tails doesn't bad, it's just different from tails in sa 1, first of all sa 2 tails at least have a different levels, it weren't reused levels from sonic's campaign. Knuckles levels from 30 sec ramble around, turned to atleast several minute experience with useful hints which u have to use, otherwise u will have to wander until ur radar will alarm, and this was a great adjustment, because now u have to think, now this is a challenge. Sonic got summer sault, which a little bit broke spin dash, but levels now better directed and became harder. Unfortunately pc got odd keyboard controlling, that make game to sharply, but with gamepad it's turning fine again. So as conclusion sonic adventure 2 is better, even though I've met with sa 1 early and played in sa 2 through several years, and though I replay these games over and over anyway sa 2 stay better. Albeit this argument is pointless because truly the best game is sonic 3 and knuckles.
Actually I agree with all points aside from this is pointless because SA2 is better then SA1 and so many fight about it lol. But Sonic 3 and Knuckles is one of my fav games! Amazing
Sa1 is better in my opinion it’s not y it’s a Greek letter called gamma that kinda looks like a y but is a different letter. And Eggman has always been his name but in American localisation he got changed to robotnik so in sa1 they retconned them both so robotnik is his name and Eggman is a nickname sonic gave him but Eggman adapted out of spite Most people aren’t playing the chao gardens because they are bad only people with nostalgia play them. And those things are chaos drives used by g.u.n to manipulate chaos energy to power their robots. Dx and battle aren’t remakes they are remasters because they are enhancements to the original game and dx looks way worse compared to the original. I think that sa1s graphics look higher poly and higher resolution but sa2 looks cooler in its animations and models
@@jiggylookback I got 2 for the my 19th birthday, biggest letdown of my life. I heard the Adventure games were amazing from the womb. Played 2 and after the first stage of both stories I struggled to keep playing because it sucked so bad. On PS3's version of 1 there's a big blue box around the display. 1 is not good, it just exists. I kept getting lost. I have beaten the second level and haven't touched it in a month meanwhile I have 100%ed Heroes and Shadow and still play them. I was playing Shadow yesterday.
@@Euro.Patriot dang! I guess someone is bound to not like em but they’re so good. I will say tho the GameCube or Dreamcast versions are the way to go…the PS versions aren’t as good. We need a proper remake of these. How do you feel about the chao garden?
@@jiggylookback If I had the power I'd marry Omochao off to Muhammad (police be upon him). The Chao Garden is so bad I never learned how to use it. Chao are annoying.
@@Euro.Patriot uuugggggg I love the chao garden. I guess you just had to experience it back in the day. It was such a fun thing with friends and raising our chao then racing them. Plus the glitches were amazing.
