my favorite quote in the game is ethier IF THIS IS YOUR WORLD THEN ITS A WORLD THAT I DONT WANT ANY PART OF OR I'm not a rat IM A HEDGEHOG! BOTH OF THOSE WERE BADASS
I like that Sonic said “As Genie of the Ring, I command you, do what you truly think is right!” Rather than “Don’t give him the rings!” It shows that Sonic indeed respects that Shahra has a will of her own. It’s such a perfect dialogue choice.
Anti-God I disagree. Even with rushed games like Sonic 06, I still thought that Sonic was much more exciting in this era than he is now especially in the story department. While Secret Rings did have control/gameplay issues, I feel it did everything else right. I loved the story, the soundtrack, the party games and the fan service. For me, the gameplay was the only let down for the game. I'm in the minority but while they did have their issues, I still enjoyed games like Unleashed, Riders and Black Knight. The stories were much more engaging and adventurous in comparision to recent titles like Colors and Generations which were too plain, simplstic and uninteresting. They also had important themes. I want to see an interesting Sonic plot again. Similar to what the Adventure games offered, with Sonic's character in the storybook games along with the heart, soul and passion that was put into Sonic Unleashed. I'd also love if they brought back full 3D gameplay and attempt the Adventure gameplay once more but I know this won't happen which I find unfortunate. I've kinda lost my patience and trust with SEGA/Sonic Team. There's so much potential but they keep wasting it to the point where I've grown distant to the series.
06 wasn't THAT bad, though. If SEGA had delayed it by a year or two or just dropped Secret Rings completely it could've been the best Sonic game ever made I feel.
Despite this game being hard as hell and the controls being difficult to use, this game was pretty cool and had a cool idea. Also dark spine sonic beating Erazor senseless was cool.
3:03 I never payed attention here but, in sonics darkspine form his quills are naturally pushed forward and layed downwards as opposed to his super form that pushes his quills upwards, it's a really cool design choice for this form.
Dark Spine Sonic is definitely the most badass form in the series. Too bad Sonic never becomes it again... But holy hell, this boss was tough. If it wasn't for the time powers I'd be completely boned.
It was actually cool seeing Sonic just beating the shit out of the boss with simple punches and kicks, instead of just bouncing off them with a homing attack - A pity this game was bashed by everyone when it came out, it had some of the most memorable Sonic moments in his history, in my eyes obviously
darkspine spnic is so freakin OP with his time break, speed break and pyrokinetics and his amazing strength and speed and he just used 3 world rings just imagine how OP he would be with all rings :O
I think if he got all 7 of them he'd be stronger than super sonic. Probably stronger than hyper too. I mean erazor djinn was like a god ready to rewrite history in his own image and 3 world rings was enough to beat him
Back when Sonic sounded and acted like a badass. Knowing when to be serious and witting and someone mixing the two together greatly. This game may not have been the best but the sort of feel of this boss is amazing. He has the powers to rewrite and entire world to his own pleasure. Meanwhile Sonic being filled with Hatred, Sadness, and Rage over Sharahs death calls upon(or they sense it and ckme to him) and empower him with one of his strongest forms as he calls out to Sharahs power to help him destroy him. Filled with such emotions he literally pushes back the power of a God and smashes his heart with pure hatred forcing each and every ring out of his body like they were nothing at all. Only later to have ome of Sonics best fucking moments ever
Mitchell Stucky I doubt they'll ever return. Time Stones, Chaos Rings, Super Chaos Emeralds, Sol Emeralds, 8th Chaos Emerald, etc haven't returned for a long time. It's pretty evident that the writters forget about these things...
Blake Goodrich It was amazing! I loved the spin-off games black knight, and the secret rings. But to be honest when I heard you couldn't control sonic like the previous games I was like meh. Story was great, the controls weren't terrible, and the music was way past cool lol.
@@mariasia9327 What the actual exactly fuck are you talking about? Learn how to use to act right cause you are completely off topic. Plus, oh, and one more thing..., a kid like you should not use this kind of language. Oh please honey, go back to your school and do your homework instead. Your comment is complete preposterously, most dumbest childish ever. And next time, act like a good girl
The 2ed one wasn't as good in my opinion. This one was better .maybe i just like the theme song more and the transformation was cool. Also the flame on sonic my have been a curse but he look hot with it on lol
No I love this game so much but it's honestly slightly amusing hearing Sonic say "I'm a hedgehog!" at the end because yeah, Sonic is a badass, but when he says that, I picture a cute, little, furry, spiked rodent and it makes me chuckle a bit. But really, this game was amazing.
This terrified me as a kid. Shahra's death, Erazor's transformation into a ugly terrifying monster, and then sonic's transformation into Darkspine Sonic that looked like he was being possessed, and then the boss itself where I had no idea what to do, scared me so much I didn't play the game for a literal week. I don't know why I was so scared of this. But I barely understand my younger self anyway.
I like this kind of voice for Sonic. He knows what he's doing instead of always being happy-go-lucky and care free. He's very serious. I prefer savage and slightly enraged Sonic instead of the types of voices Griffith gave Sonic in games like '06 or the more recent ones.
Ironically, this *is* still Jason Griffith but more so the end of his contract as the voice of Sonic. I enjoyed his early renditions, it made Sonic seem quite chill and upbeat but his take during 06 did make Sonic seem less serious, too carefree and Happy-Go-Lucky which is seen too much with Roger Craig Smith who makes Sonic sound botj water downed and low budget; not to be mean. Jason Griffith was finally getting the hang of Sonic which brought in enraged and savage Sonic through the Werehog Form. To date, Werehog sound clips are still being used to voice Scrouge who is basically Aggressive Sonic the hedgehog. Also, the Storybook series brought much more of this aggressive to the series before vanishing with Sonic Generations and Colors.
4:32 love how this perfectly characterizes the era of Sonic I was born in lmao. Man i miss this shit so mature yet so true to Sonic's character. The storybook Sonic games has the series' worst gameplay (but unique concepts), but damn the stories and especially themes are some of its best. All i hope for are Sonic stories like SA1, SA2, Unleashed, Secret Rings, and Black Knight (the best imo).
Whats really interesting is that it only took 3 rings for sonic to transform into Darkspine sonic and beat erazor while he used the power of all the rings. Makes you wonder why they didnt let sonic absorb all the world rings to take him down. Maybe Darkspine was an incomplete transformation...
literally the coolest most badass fucking villain transformation in any Sonic story ever. motherfucker becomes an eldritch god of creation and no details are spared. always creeped me the fuck out and amazed the hell out of me as a kid and it still does to this day. storytelling in Sonic is fucking bonkers
You see I don't hate this game like a lot of people in this fanbase do. It's was a _good_ game. Obviously being a sonic game the soundtrack was right up there. But the story and cutsenses where top notch 👌8:00 Is one of my favorite moments if this entire franchises.
Sadness, Rage, Hatred: These are all the emotions I felt from just the prologue, but I must admit this boss fight is pretty cool. I especially love how they have the main theme playing in the background.
Sonic has erazor Djinn grant his wishes but everytime he grants a wish its a gun firing I think I might make that video Is it too long. the title I mean.
Keep in mind that if Super Sonic was as mad or badass as Darkspine, he would have no trouble killing Solaris, Dark gaia or literally any god he previously faced. Sonic holds back a lot.
@@billyboleson2830 Actually Sonic thought it was easy fighting and destroying Solaris in phase 1. But after Solaris came back with phase 2, Sonic mentioned that it wasn't going to be TOO easy. Meaning he wasn't even trying until phase 2 where Solaris is more aggressive.
Dark Super Sonic was the dumbest thing the anime ever tried to pull. You can give Sonic all the dark forms you want, but his incorruptible good nature and heroic resolve will keep him from turning evil. You can give him a dark form, but you can never give him an _evil_ dark form.
Blackheartzero, the Underground Song Critic the forms aren’t born from evil it’s born from his rage. For Dark Sonic it was using energy from the false emeralds but his anger added to it. For Darkspine Sonic he had the negative traits of the rings and once again his rage making him into this badass
I love that the flame that Sonic puts out at the end is supposed to symbolize him putting out the curse that the Erazor cast on him from the very beginning of the game... neat Sega
He got a wife and kids so people like yourself wouldn't question his sexuality why do you think he's never home? and always wants to end up dying to go to King Kai's planet to train and to make out with the monkey?
John Smith Who... wants to die? It's constantly stated that Goku loves getting stronger, in order to fight more powerful opponents. Making out with a monkey? It's funny you say that, because in mythology, Goku is the monkey king. Anyway, he's very faithful to his family and friends. It's obvious.
Bro this game made me love sonic even more after how awesome they made him with this games quotes and not to mention that seven rings in hand song is pure awesomeness!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I honestly wish they could of kept the same actor 🤧
I don't know about you guys, but Darkspine Sonic has this sort of Werehog growl to his voice, and for some reason I can only hear it when he talks to Erazor Djinn.
No way. Super Sonic literally Defeated an Omnipresent God capable of Destroying all Timelines along with Crushing Time Itself. Darkspine may of Rewrote the Universe, but Super Sonic Is Thousands of Times Stronger.
@@comfy88338 some say Darkspine Sonic is half the power of Super Sonic, also since base Sonic today is stronger than he was during Secret Rings wouldn't that make him more powerful than the Darkspine form?
@ Sonic only needed help because Solaris existed in different time periods and was transcending, he didn't have a problem taking down Solaris in the present actually he could have just used chaos control to teleport to where the Solaris' were to defeat them before the Sonic verse turned into nothing. Sonic today is more powerful than he was in Secret Rings because in his own words "I get stronger by the second." It's also been confirmed that he trains plus if you take the Sonic Forces promotional material/guide seriously then Infinite was stated to be the strongest Sonic villain to date which would make him more powerful than Solaris, Erazor Djinn, Time Eater, Egg Wizard, etc. beings that can destroy the universe with no problem. In Generations base Sonic survives Time Eater wiping out the entire timeline while unconscious and Infinite is powered by the Phantom Ruby that was able to harm Classic Super Sonic and warp his dimension in Mania then Modern Sonic was able to match and surpass him in base.
Oof one of my favorite transformations since they used to spam super sonic a lot. Plus the fact that darkspike sonic is an incomplete form since he took 3 out of the 7 rings but was able to kick ass
