Me too buddy I played this game when I was like 7 or 8 and I literally was crying because of the song in the end and now I'm 17 and in my Last year of high school they say time flies huh sonic and the secret rings wil always have a special place in my heart such as sonic unleashed and sonic and the black knight😌😪
I think it's needlessly cruel. His wish should have instead been "Until you truly learn to change your ways you shall forever spend your days inside your lamp as in days of old". The way it's worded now is not giving the guy a chance for redemption. I'm going to believe that it actually means that rather than how it sounds.
@@bunsmasterbunny he wasn't going to change. He was given a chance at redemption and he squandered it. Even after all that time, he learned nothing. His sentence was just.
I remember playing this when I was younger. One night I was playing and my parents got home from work and in when they came through the door they were holding a puppy. I’d always wanted a puppy and I’ll always be reminded of that day I got him when I see this game
Oh, man, I miss playing this game, and especially the voice actors here. Despite the weird controls, this is a fun game. Defeating Erazor in the end has never been more satisfying. The Mario Party-like mini-games are fun too, if you have all the characters, and I always use Shadow there, though I love Amy, Cream, and Blaze.
"I wish for a mountain of handkerchiefs. So, let yourself cry, you'll have as many handkerchiefs to help you through it." That stuck with me since the first time playing through, I don't know why. It's such a beautiful thing to say.
Did you get stuck on Dinosaur Jungle? When I was but a wee lad, I got stuck at the point Sonic says, 'Outta the frying pan and into the fire, huh?!'. I couldn't figure out what the fuck I was meant to do...
I'll say it to this day, Sonic and the secret rings had one of if not the best speed mechanics. Time and speed break will always be apart of my childhood.
What Sonic did at 3:12:38 was amazing! It’s kinda sad for Shahra to sacrifice herself to protect Sonic at 3:13:35.. Sonic The Hedgehog’s transformation to Darkspine Sonic at 3:15:28 gives me chills all over! 3:20:23: In your face, Erazor!
This was actually the first sonic game I ever played Some friends I knew had a Wii that broke and they gave their games away to us and this was one of them
I get the feeling that Erazor Djinn reminds me of Jafar from Aladdin.and having Agrabah here in a sonic game well that just adds to the authenticity of it all.
This to me hot take is the best Sonic game because of the story, music and character development Sonic was fun chill caring dude and he got serious when there was danger. Shara was nice and sweet she seemed shy and nervous and kinda didn't think too highly of herself but near the end got more confidence. Erazor Djinn was a fantastic villain and his design was cool the world's were unique. Darkspine is my favorite form cause of the design and how it's made out of pure rage also Sonic felt like a actual god. This game I grew up with and it in my top 5 favorite games of all time thanks for everything Sonic And The Secret Rings.
and now, my thoughts on all the themes in the game Tutorial area: Basic atmospheric music, but... kinda creepy not gonna lie. Sand oasis: Upbeat and sets the tone of the game and its mechanics up perfectly. Don't stop, just go. Poison spear: Sounds like something out of SMT/Persona and i love it. Dino jungle: Repetitive, but still catchy. Evil Foundry: C O B I F A N S R I S E U P ! Levitated Ruins: Probably my favorite level theme, despite it being a bad level. It's just... beautiful. Pirate storm: Grungy and feels like you could die at any moment. Cool. Blue on the run: Sounds like something out of scooby doo, okay? How it started: Favorite boss theme, due to the sheer intensity and catchiness Bone zo- i mean skeleton dome: Runner-up on favorite level theme, helped by some catchy lyrics. Unawakening float: Bronze medal for best theme, due to the sense of finality. Come to this: Worst boss theme, fight me. really repetitive, and while it sounds like a standoff, it doesn't fit for, you know, a fake-out final boss! Seven rings in hand: The theme you hear throughout the whole game, and in typical pre-generations fashion, the context of the lyrics becomes so much more badass due to the events leading up to bootleg Hoopa's battle.
Fun fact: as a small child (like 5-6), Erazor Djinn would scare the heck out of me. Whenever he came up in the game, my older cousin would say “hide, it’s the big scary man” and so I would run behind the couch until he was gone XD
This was the only sonic game I ever played besides mania but man this was a good sonic game I can see and feel the nostalgia as the secrets and challenges come back to me
For real everyone dogs on the controls but if you just pay attention in the tutorials you can remove all of the problems that most people blamed on "bad motion controls". The story was pretty good. Not too complicated but serious and sets the stakes well. Worlds were well designed like every other sonic game, music is some of the best out there, etc. Only the party game controls were wack
This game was special for many reasons. This model of Sonic hadn't been seen before, with that slightly squared eye shape and the fact he's a little shorter than the 06 model. This game released when the Wii was still new (2007) and everybody was wowed with the Wii-mote and Nunchuk. The story and gameplay were highly original (we all remember that new form of Sonic at the end) and it had one of the biggest multiplayer modes ever in Sonic because of the amount of characters you could play with and the minigames, making it also a party game. Highly recommended even for today, it's still very fun to play
I had to stop for a bit and research this for a bit before I continued because I was confused. But this is my second time watching it and I enjoy the storyline and his new form in this! Darkspine is such an underrated form.
this game deserves a remastered for nintendo switch with better texture , good control of sonic all in 4k , but actually its a nice (and really hard) game, by other hand "sonic and the black knight was a really good game ,
When I was little I never played through the actual game. I just kept replaying the tutorial. (I think) I remember playing the mini games with my little brother a lot though. They were pretty fun. I was so little when I first played this game.
@@ViViDG yeah, one is the controllers, but once you keep playing they don't feel that bad. And the fact that the game lacked HD resolution due to the Wii's Hardware really made it lack that sharpness. Other than that it's my second favorite sonic game besides Sonic and the Black Knight.
Something that gets lost in translation is that Erazor Djinn calls Sonic a "nezumi" and Sonic says "I'm a harinezumi" meaning "mouse" and "needle mouse."
This is actually helpful because im stuck on chapter 6 and not trying to mess with the race in chapter 3 im just waiting until i get the wind crest upgrade
I must be one of the few who didn't have any problems with the controls because to me they seemed intuitive and didnwhat I wanted it to do. I love this game I don't get how others feel it controls so poorly
Yea this one had it for sure actually. I think this one probably has the most consistent great songs which is pretty good for a not so popular game that was constrained by one type of them being like a middle eastern theme but all the songs still slap , only like one or 2 of them not really have that in the instrumentals
LOVE IT!!!!! Sonic is STILL that Same, Optimistic Blue Hedgehog I know & love. I especially adored his friendship with Sahara. And the ending was so touchy, it made me cry. "S&TSR" has been added to my list of favorite "Sonic" games. 💙😍😭🦔🎮
Whenever I was asked what my favorite Sonic Game is, my response was always "It's either Sonic Colors or Sonic Unleashed. Eh, don't ask about Sonic and the Secret Rings. That one turned out to be a few electrons short of a carbon molecule, if ya know what I mean"
Holy shit. This really goes to show how cool I thought everything looked on my Wii back then. The graphics look... rough. Still love this game and black knight with all my heart, graphics and gameplay be damned.
SEGA should remastered both Secret Rings and Black Knight for PC as well than making a third installement of the Storybook saga (maybe Old Imperial China theme?)
