Here's the Japanese version of the Sonic and the Secret Rings Movie project! From beginning to end, sit back and watch the complete story! The final chapter is at hand! What happens here? Well, you'll just have to watch for yourself. Hope you enjoyed watching this compilation movie as much as I enjoyed making it. ;)
Personal comments: And finally... endgame. And the first cutscene in this chapter would be the ONLY one I rather have CGI'ed than all the other storybook cutscenes; I think it would've been much better.
What I think about Darkspines Sonic... nifty. :) Yeah, I think that new super form's pretty cool and all. And this final boss makes for one of the most difficult and annoying missions to get a Gold Rank on. Time is VERY tight, and you would be great if you DO NOT get hit even once... though I managed to get one regardless of getting hit once, but still! XD
Well, just watch and enjoy this last chapter, especially since I gave this one some extra edits. ;)

Sonic sounds really cool here in japanese...But no one can compete with Jason Griffith's sonic screams (werehog excluded). The guy was screaming in the final boss in a way you could FEEL the hatred sonic felt at that moment

Bro, can y'all stop meat riding all these English Sonic VAs for even a single second? This is damn near illegal. Mr. Kanemaru does a phenomenal job as Sonic in pretty much any game, you all are just too wrapped up in your bubble of what you think Sonic _should_ sound like that you disregard the good voice acting that's always been there since 1998. It's just dumb. I apologize in advance if this sounds too harsh, but at this point the never ending practice of ignoring the Japanese cast for simply "not measuring up" to your idealized impressions of the characters is not only ridiculous, but also just plain rude and insensitive.

Maybe because Griffith doesn't have the range to make Darkspine sound appropriately intimidating? It's ironic because his Shadow voice is fine. But obviously he's not allowed to use the same voice for both characters lol.

Thinking about it, the Dark Sonic is actually evil (though Sonic was really pissed off), while the Darkspine Sonic is just a form using the sadness, rage and hatred rings. Maybe that's why...

André Xavier Martinez Actually that's not the case. It was explained that Sonic was still in control when he went Dark, he was just really angry. This whole "Dark Sonic is some evil split personality" is 100% fan-made.

Darkspine sonic is using the energy of the sacrificed souls trapped within the seven world rings and the emotions stored within them. While erazor had a weak soul and lost control turning him into a rampaging monster, Sonic has fortitude and a strong soul and was able to actually control the power of the world rings. The same thing happened between perfect chaos and super sonic in sonic adventure

The only thing I wish was that he went Jason Griffith on the boss battle and did a battlecry that just showed his raw emotion. That honestly would have been really cool. :)

@@raymanfreak7739 Why would you want Junichi to sound like Jason Griffith? That’s just an insult and a disgrace. He sounded naturally angry enough as Darkspine Sonic. No reason to go beyond that.

One of the rare times I actually like the English version more. Jason’s scream was amazing and his smug attitude ones he reviled he has the lamp is soooo good.

@@blankd5179 nah, Perfect Dark Gaia is cool and all but Alf Layla Wa Layla was indeed scary, Sonic said it itself "this is terrible, it's just an incomplete monster" Dark Gaia was a Lovecraftian force of nature, this thing was corruption and the lowest desires of human mind personified

When shahra died, it was more emotional in Japanese than it was in English, the Japanese version is a 100% better. I think Sonic's French voice is the 3rd best.

What? Jason was actually trying with the angry growls. While it seems very forced at times, this guy seems more bored than anything. I’ve seen much better Japanese performances than this, so it’s not because I’m ignorant and only watch English dubs.

@@Mojo1356 While Junichi definitely was not perfect here and sounded “bored” (as you put it) at times as Darkspine Sonic, I’d take it any day over Jason’s Darkspine Sonic which sounds very unfitting. At least I can take Darkspine Sonic seriously in Japanese. Jason’s voice made him sound like a joke. I feel like Japan did it better here. Does this mean I am anti English dub? No. It doesn’t. I just prefer one over the other.

@@thesladesterb3vt3co7h no- I’ll gladly take something that seems out of place but at least trying compared to someone who sounds like he isn’t even trying all that much. At least as far as comparing them to voice actors of their respective languages. When you sound bored, your audience will get bored as well. Maybe you don’t get that, but after seeing many anime subs with lots of angry moments, this guy came off as bored to me. Maybe to people who don’t watch Japanese dubs other than Sonic will find this fine, but not me.

@@Mojo1356 I do watch some Japanese dubs of certain anime and I still think Junichi did fine as Darkspine here. It’s a personal preference to me and I don’t hear any bored coming from it. Maybe it’s just the audio quality I don’t know.

Awesome! I completly missed all of this when I played, because I only fought Erazor Djjin once and then it showed Sonic leaving and the book closing. I was like "wth?" and decided to play later, but it got lost when someone else was using the Wii. This ending is made of Win and Dark Sonic! Well, Darkspine Sonic.

Am I the only one who thinks that Darkspine Sonic sounds more bored than anything? I’ve heard my fair share of angry Japanese voice actors like My Hero Academia and Attack On Titan. They all sound much better than Darkspines Sonic. Edit: the exception being when he goes in to destroy the heart.

I mean cuz Darkspine Sonic didn't only have hatred as the only world ring but also rage and sadness. Though you could say that Sonic himself in that state was mentally unstable as he had 'delusions' of Shahra talking to him(Giving out Hints)

Sonic and the black knight had about the same amount of levels as secret rings, but most of them where locked until you beat the story, in secret ring you could unlock more levels through the story. And the ability system was better in secret rings, besides locking certain moves tough

Somebody gets it. While I know this VA has what it takes (he wouldn’t still be Sonic today if he didn’t), he sounds bored half of the time as Darkspine Sonic.
