9:02 That glitchy spot is actually caused by the hardware limitations of the Genesis/Mega Drive. This glitch is caused by too many sprites being drawn on the same horizontal line that are on screen on that specific frame. Those blocks are sprites that Dr. Robotnick interacts with. Combine that with the shield sprite and Sonic's sprite (or in this case Motobug's) and you have what is known as sprite tearing here. You might have noticed that when jumping the glitch momentarily goes away, only to have a large chunk taken away in the lower right corner. This is due to the hud also using sprites, which in this case, the life counter is causing that chunk to disappear. This happens on the real console itself as well.

It could def use some added shoes or springs to make levels possible; idk what they'd do with the water slide other than literally spring you off where you need to be somehow. But, I mean... Would also want to see what Motorbug in a Sonic game where they could go Super Motorbug and possibly try to do minigames to get said Emeralds.

(before video) I recently finished playing Knuckles in Sonic 1. Yeah, it's a hack that incorporates some Sonic 2 features like the spin dash, but it also allows some level cheezing in some parts. It's available via the Sega Classics Steam Workshop (where I got a lot of my Sonic hacks from including all the 'easy-mode' ones). Imagine trying to beat the special stages as a motobug, lolz

I just found a Sonic 1 ROM Hack Hold Right To Win there's no enemies or Dr Robotnik basically just the running sections of the zones accept Labyrinth Zone cause it's alot of jumping

Ending credits video clips are broken in this hack cause they work like Mario Wii's tips and tricks videos. They aren't actually videos but gameplay running on a specific set of inputs programmed to be inputted by the game's AI for those scenes to save on memory space. I'm curious if Motobug kills himself in the ending credits of this hack, like if you try to view the tips and tricks "videos" of Mario Wii if you're playing a "hard mode" Mario Wii hack.
