I FINALLY Got what the reference in Game Dev Tycoon meant. The game had a White Board that says 'Cool' and 'Edgy' on it, meaning that this was at the time Sega was looking for a new game that is both Cool and Edgy. Their first option was 'Duck' which was possibly referring to Dynamite Dux, since that didn't get enough attention, they went with their next option, a Rabbit, which must have been the Prototype version of Sonic like the Light Blue Rabbit prototype. That idea was scrapped and they stuck with the final option, a Hedgehog.
