Sonic CD: Desert Dazzle (Alpha PC Port) 

So this is the cut level Desert Dazzle? Huh, It looks so good... Too bad they cut it along with Final Fever, It would have made a great level.

I wonder what the Past version of this would've looked like. Desert Dazzle already looks pretty free of civilization. Would it have been a riverbed or something?

If Sonic Team thought that adding this and Final Fever were straying too far from the original then they should have gone like what MM Powered Up did. There could have been an old mode (Regular game basically) and a new mode (All the zones plus the two new ones) so that these new additions would be optional and not make the game be different from the original.

Ahhhh yes. The stage that's getting turned into Mirage Saloon Zone in Sonic Mania. Wonderful.

This level is so lovely. I really thought the tiles were supposed to blink like that, it looks very nice and goes along very good with the rest of CD's fabulous weirdness.

Here's hoping this stage finally sees the light of day in Sonic Mania.

Oh my god, this looks so fun to play! I REALLY hope someday this is added to the main game as a complete, playable level, with Past, Present, and Good/Bad future variants. Though, I doubt it, since the Egg Gauntlet couldn't make it, but eh, one can dream.

I heard the real soundtrack of both the past present bad and good future theme of the Japanese version warning this is the olney one that exist and it sounds very relaxing sorry to burst your bubbles about that fans who like the American soundtrack better but to be the first probably to say this on the Internet but I like the Japanese version better than this and I think it is more fitting than its English counterpart

Whoa, this zone could've been good if Sega let Christian create it. I mean, whenever he makes a new zone (example: Egg Gauntlet - Sonic 2 (2013)), Sega says NO. That's the problem. Wasn't this supposed to be a remake, by fans, for fans?

Dust Hill and Dessert Dazzle had a baby... it's called Mirage Saloon zone.

They dropped this and Final Fever for a game with 'a more 'faithful experience to the original'. But yet they didn't say a thing about Tails as an unlockable character. Dang it SEGA, dang it...

This level actually really does look lovely. Was there anything substantial left of Final Fever in there as well?

In one sense I'm glad that Sonic CD didn't get this, because if any game was in need of new zones in a remake, it's Sonic 2. Wood Zone and Dust Hill zone (among other barely-developed zones) were in planning at some point, but ultimately scrapped.

Reminds me of Dust Hill Zone from that Sonic 2 beta. 'twas always kind of a bummer to me that neither of these two zones got to be in their respective games, but Sonic Mania is finally doing justice to them.

This was supposed to be round 2 according to the fandom but it got scrapped.
