[HD / &fmt=22] 【Read description!】 Took a bit of time to figure out how to get the final Chaos Emerald. Well, at least this version had a secret boss. Not that hard at all.
"It can't just be a coincidence that the Chaos emeralds are here" Shaddap Sonic, you're not allowed to casually break the fourth wall like that. Also, WTF IS THAT SOUND SHE MAKES WHEN SHE FIRES THE LASER?!?
Well I mean, the chaos emeralds just show up after the bonus stages, so what other reason would there be to having them for a deus ex machina so that Sonic can fight that thing? Even he knows it.
Unlike mist people, i love the DS version and this boss in particular, its amazing, and its like a dessert to finish your meal. The graphics are pretty good, despite the system limits. To be honest, i have no idea why people hate this game!
I think I understand what's happening. In the DS version, those "planets" (Sweet Mountain, Aquarium Park, Planet Wisp, Asteroid Coaster) didn't go back to their original places in the universe after the Nega Wisp Armor fight and destroying all the generators. Instead they just stayed there, with no way or returning them home. Sonic had collected the Chaos Emeralds from their respective Special Zones as a failsafe it seems. In case they were needed. Then he is informed by Yacker that his mother (Mother Wisp) had turned into a Nega Wisp during Eggman's reign. She went berserk and escaped Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park in a fit of rage. Sonic (Seeing an opportunity to save their worlds), turns into Super Sonic. Sonic "purifies" the Mother Wisp. And with the Mother Wisp's untold power she returned the planetoids back to their original place in the universe. The whole point of this version is to make sure that the Mother Wisp doesn't ultimately kill everyone, Wisps included. And to bring back the planets to their home where they belong. That's how this version of the plot goes about the ending.
Yeah, kinda reminds me of Sonic Adventure where Tikal begs Sonic to stop the rage of Perfect Chaos, and Chaos is also used as a weapon by Eggman that went berserk
I remember playing this as a child even this first came out and no one I brought it up to seemed to remember this level. I knew I wasn’t crazy. Memories.
I think Sonic Team should make a Sonic Colours remake for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC with the canon parts of both versions. (maybe adjusting the order of the story to make a bit more sense, by having this battle before Terminal Velocity Act 1 instead of after the Nega Wisp Armour fight)
Four Games that show off the DS's amazing hardware, Super Mario 64 DS, Sonic Colors, Bangai-O Spirits and the Mario and Sonic Olympic games for the DS.
for everyone out there, this game is ACUTALLY CANNON, as seen in sonic runners, where they 1. explain why wisps are still around and 2. the mother wisp is a. mentioned and b. IS A COMPAINION IN THE GAME, oh and f.y.i: this is probably the better version of ending
Kingdom080500 I mean the ds one, when people talk about colours they say there was no super sonic ending, but since DS is acutally cannon, colors did have a super sonic final boss
There's a difference between mother wisp being canon, and this version being canon. If Runners said, "after sonic _saved_ mother wisp" or something like that, THEN this game would be canon.
Probably because the battle is, and don't take this the wrong way, completely pointless. Yes, it's cool. Yes, you're super sonic. But, the problem is, this fight has no bearing on the plot. You already beat eggman. You destroyed his interstellar amusement park. So, why is nega mother wisp even here? The game makes, if anything, better sense without her. If they needed a cool final boss as super sonic, give eggman an extra phase. It'd fit better than this. you're entitled to your opinion, i just wanted to vent because i think this is a stupid boss fight.
Mannejoeba in kingdom hearts Birth By Sleep you fight the misterious figure after you complete the story. Two of the protagonists are supposed to be MIA yet you can fight the boss with those two, AND NO ONE COMPLIED
I mean isn't the "point" of fighting her to beat the dark influence out of her before she starts rampaging and destroys both Sonic's world and her own? I figure that's kind of important. Not to mention that Mother Wisp provides an explanation for how the wisps exist AND puts the planets Sonic visited back to where they belong originally. Which are things the Wii version didn't cover.
“It can’t just be a coincidence that the Chaos Emeralds are here.” Okay, THAT was funny. Unlike the Wii version. Pontaff will never be able to top that.
Aaaah... I LOOOOOVE getting "S" ranks on this. That picture with Super Sonic, Mother Wisp and all the little Wisps floating around makes me feel SOOOOO kickass for winning!
When The Mother Wisp fires a laser, does anyone else hear some of Gardeavor's Cry (most likely misspelled)? Awesome fight, found it by accident but I knew something would happen if you got all the Chaos Emeralds. Best Sonic game for a couple of years.
I remember I always used the Infinite Ring hack via my Action Replay when I battled this. Along with numerous others throughout the game. Good times, good times...
Really a shame they didn't at least attempt to put this in Sonic Colors Ultimate... They literally have her in Team Sonic Racing on the Mother's Canyon racetrack
I remember feeling proud of myself for finding the ending on my own but while playing the level it felt like a fever dream because of the pitch change in music and the overall setting
In addition, SEGA probably made Sonic Generations' version of Super Sonic intentionally overpowered in the stages and useable in the final boss fight to appease fans, but at a price. That Sonic now drains 3-4 rings per second and an additional 7-8 for the guided flight mode. Logic.
THANK YOU. It's 4 AM and I've been needing this nostalgia. My DS won't charge, so I couldn't just load up my save file and I wasn't sure if I was just crazy, and had a fever dream about this boss fight.
It would've been cooler if this was the "Final Boss", and Eggman sucked out all of Nega-Mommy Wisp's energy to power HIS Robo-Wisp and THAT was the secret boss
Look, I'm not trying to hate on this boss, or this game. If it sounds like I am, I apologize. Anyway, I honestly dislike the music and sounds. It's not that their bad, quite the contrary, I think the original soundtrack is amazing. But read that closely: ORIGINAL. The DS port of the soundtrack is just... bad. The sound effects are incredibly bit-crushed, like they're on the Sega Genesis-- wait, NOT on the sega genesis, on the Atari 2600! The music sounds like they were taken from a game on the NES. Other than that, the IDEA of this boss is great, like those epic final boss segments from Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Fighting the mother of aliens that give Sonic abilities like drilling incredibly far down, rolling on walls witb spikes, flying throuh the stage like a laser, and it turns out they were just INFANTS compared to their mother, who is gigantic, pulled 4 entirely different planets into one, created every one of the wisps, AND is corrupted. That is an amazing idea for a boss. However, this should have been put on the wii, the more popular port of the game. For story's sake, and for the increased graphics. As it is, it's just low-quality, and I would call it outdated, if it weren't for the fact thisnwas made on a recent system. For those who read this giant wall of text, thanks, and once again, not trying to hate on this game, just saying my opinion.
Super Saiyan Devil I disagree. The soundtrack sounds just as good on the DS, if not better. This track is just them trying to do an 8-Bit remix of Reach for the Stars but failing miserably, but the soundtrack as a whole sounds stellar. As for the graphics...it's a DS game. You don't play a portable system expecting stellar graphics unless you have a PSP.
If I understand everything, the Nega-Wisp was a result of Eggman using the Wisps for power. A mutation if you will. This is why at the end of the Wii version all of the Nega-Wisps become a different Wisp.
I remember getting the DS version not long after the game came out. Pretty much right away. I sped through the game so fast I ended up finding this boss. I remembered being so surprised that I checked online and come to find no posts were made about it anywhere. From RU-vid to even Google itself. This was my favorite part about the game and as many would likely agree, it should’ve been on the Wii version too. Mother Wisp. A battle of color
Reminds me of the Perfect Dark Gaia battle in the PS2/Wii version of Sonic Unleashed. The way you knock out the tentacles then go flying toward the body avoiding meteorites is just like they way you knock out Dark Gaia's little eyes then go flying toward the big eye avoiding meteors
This kinda reminds me of the Perfect Dark Gaia Boss for the Ps2/Wii version of Sonic Unleashed. This makes me think that's why they didn't put this boss in the Wii version of Colors. We all know haters would've complained about how the Boss was just a rehash of Perfect Dark Gaia.
@Blackshadow363 oh and the thing i did like, was the short clip of reach for the stars(the song) on the skill level rating screen after the boss fight. i hope they give a full version of that song in the ds game and not just the wii one.
Could you imagine if *this* was in Sonic Colors Ultimate? Enhanced to match the console graphics and such. I imagine if all of the DS content was put in Colors Ultimate, it could've been the truly definitive experience. Just gotta fix those graphical glitches.
@DinerSals - I'm not whining, news reports and such have actually contained the information about Sonic Colours' possible port on the 360/PS3. Plus, I live in Australia. Time is quite obviously different, so that's why I have the time to reply to you right now :| kthxbaiagain.
