Thank you so much for watching! Apologies for the mistakes in the Spanish text, I'm still learning Spanish and I use a translator to form sentences I am not sure how to form, have a nice day! :D ¡Gracias por ver! Disculpas por los errores en el texto en español, todavía estoy aprendiendo español y uso un traductor para formar oraciones que no sé. ¡Que tenga un lindo día! :D
I'm Mexican and American, yet I know some Spanish and right now I'm taking Spanish right now. So, I can understand what you're going through. For me, I'm good at speaking it but writing it can be a little hard at times.
The idea of a troll game unintentionally killing someone through a seizure could easily be a real issue thats affected someone in the past Far more realistic and scarier than 'oh no I've been mauled by red-eyed sonic'
@@SillytheSkrunklylilfella its actually when the video starts. It doesn’t seem to appear any type of warning on the game, so yeah, it killed his friend.
Judging by the "R.I.P." that floods the screen at the 7 minute mark and the following flashing afterwards, I don't think it was unintentional.. This game was more than likely targeted towards people with epilepsy as some kind of awful joke.
The idea of someone making a Sonic game engineered to kill you just as a silly prank is honestly scarier than any EXE, because this is something someone could actually do, something someone would actually do. This could've happened to someone
6:22 the fact that the flashing jumpscare was supposed to kill the player, but since he pressed continue, the game now knows that the player is still alive, with sonic growing a unsettling grin now knowing that the player lived after the jumpscare, now about to do another one. 6:32 and also, when sonic moved his finger one last time, it was like he was saying "see ya" before the timer sets off
I’m pretty sure that Sonic smiling is because the countdown scene is to check whether the player is still responsive, and if no input is detected [when the counter hits 1 and then 0], Sonic just smiles unnervingly since he got the results he wanted
It wasn't scary at first, at first I was laughing. Then, when I started to put the pieces together... It became horrifying. This game was made seemingly with the intent of killing people via epileptic shocks. That is morbid. The continue screen is there to detect if you are still responsive or not and all the while, he is smiling. I personally choose to believe that it was targeted, would make the situation even more vile. Good vid.
Also the fact that "R.I.P" cascades down the screen to reveal the deformed Sonic head after the timer reaches 0 and, for good measure, launches into another flashing lights jumpscare afterwards. It feels like a double tap. Like, just in case you didn't die from the first one and were able to recover or look away in time, the second one was there just to finish you off.
This has got to be the most realistic and evil sounding creepy pasta I've seen, the idea of a troll game designed to cause epileptic shock is insane, the idea of the continue screen to check if the player is still responsive is just evil knowing that pressing continue would have probably restarted the sequence with another attempt at causing a seizure and the one if you don't continue to try and make sure that whatever unlucky victim that stumbles upon this with epilepsy dies, not to mention the parents of the victim walking in to see there child dead on the floor as disturbing imagery displayed on the screen, and its not even some ghost or demon its just a person online playing an evil prank making it worse in my opinion.
The worst thing of all is that any crazy person can do this in real life, but at least if it happened in real life, it would be something so serious that SEGA itself would intervene to make this game disappear completely. The authorities would definitely locate the guy responsible for the game, and he would face court, and it wouldn't be cool (of course, depending on the laws of their country).
6:10 This sequence, this sequence right here. This was honestly one of the only times I've lowered my volume out suspense. The way that Sonic deforms after the timer reaches 1. The way that the big reveal of the face slowly unfolds with little to no noise at all. It's honestly one of my favorite moments from any VibingLeaf video.
@@_...CCCosmicGokyuzuCCC..._imma be a huge nerd rn and say that "Enchantment Table" is actually something called the Standard Galactic Alphabet, it was created by ID Software the same dudes who made DOOM for their old game Commander Keen. its fully translatable and there are converters online.
god, the ending... the narrator's reaction to the game initially made me laugh a bit, not gonna lie, but as soon as they said it was a troll game, it was just heartbreaking. finding out your close friend, who you lost very recently, died because of a buggy game someone made to trick and spook people with cheap scares is a surprisingly harrowing concept for a creepypasta, especially when you think about how easily that could happen in real life. fantastic retelling, mr leaf
Not only that, but also macabric, as it is ALSO implied that it was intentional, even TARGETTED towards his deceased game, the troll whoever made it is a pathetic eastern person, considering the fact that there's weird text in the game over screen that fades in, it is likely from an eastern country.
I really like your interpretation of this creepypasta. The ending got to me especially, not because it was that scary but how depressing it was. Imagine hearing that your friend died to epilepsy just because of a garbage horror troll game. Good work as always man!
This whole section here 6:23 ill explain it for you. Basically, its making sure youre dead. This is basically to ensure no chance for survival. Its a super duper scary countdown on purpose. Its purposefully supposed to be scary so that if you do anything to try to make the countdown stop, it confirms youre still breathing and alive. Thats why sonic is smiling. Realistically, if the first one worked. And if you didnt put any inputs into it. The game should just automatically close. You can see the animation stop halfway through, and skip to continue the next animation folder of sonic smiling, which is why its so choppy. This is down right my most favorite video of you. Good job!
this is a very sad story. I feel for the narrator. And it's rare that these stories actually have someone die for a reasonable cause like a seizure, it adds to the sense of dread that a creepy game actually could hurt someone that bad.
@@lorrainehatton1235even ME, who is also loves to troll someone(tbh i bad at this-it's even easier to YOU troll me instead).....feels bad for this guy👿. Bro just wanted to play Sonic game, dying.....just cuz some jerks have too awful feeling of humor. It's not even trolling. Trolling is when you just clowning around in the web, not when your prank killing someone-it's disgusting and dismoralling. I hope NO one will have the same fate...... R.I.P [insert the guy's friend's name], i hope you in the best world......the world where Sonic never had his bad times🫳😔
What I like most about this adaptation is that it actually feels like a game with it's own challenges instead of just "go right," specifically the third level, with the badniks becoming visible with the thunder strikes, and the whole level being a mish-mash of marble zone and green hill. Really makes it feel like someone's fan game that got passed around and eventually tainted by whatever or whoever the hell is behind this.
My expectations were pretty low considering how much the evil Sonic stuff has been done to death, but even in such an overcrowded field you managed to impress. That countdown screen gave me chills, how the hell was he even supposed to stop that without a Continue button?
The concept of a shitpost troll game killing someone via an epileptic shock is more realistic and haunting then “hyperrealistic” eyed Sonic, it seems even more satanic even… An unknown language, the murder of a unknown female individual, the death of someone close to you, and it being all wrapped up in a ROM hack of Sonic 1 with an unknown origin is… gut wrenching It makes me feel sick to my stomach just thinking about that situation, i couldn’t imagine how horrific that situation must be. The individual playing (who’s name i have forgotten lol) had to unplug his computer to end the game because it was too much for him to handle! I dont care who you are, you do not have the guts to watch a woman be murdered. Very good rendition of Blue Pendrive, another masterpiece as always @VibingLeaf
I am not sure if anyone commented this or i am seeing this differently, but i interpret the continue countdown from 10 to 0 as a check to see if the player had reacted to what have happened; for example if they ran away from their computer in fear, or worse had a seizure, they wouldn't have been able to do any input. Which is why sonic later smiles when the timer pauses at 1, as a way to show that they received the results that they wanted to get from experiencing it. (That is, if we're in the mindset that the modifier have modified this with intention of shocking/hurting those who are sensitive)
Its even more sinister when you realize the thing that happens directly after that is a little sequence of R.I.P illuminating a horrific face looking at the player, just before using more flashing lights and imagery, as well as loud noises. They went in for a double tap and mocked them with a wall of R.I.P. and made sure the last thing they saw was (presumably) the creator of the game's face looking down on them with a look of hate right before they dealt their final blow.
I think the main fear factor of this overall story is not the seizure jumpscare that was implemented into the troll game, but the fact that a person had died from the scare, which signifies the bloodied-eye Sonic within the game, instead of just being used for cheap scare factor. I’m not sure if that was intentional or not, or if this even correct, but I think you and the original story creator did a good job at diverting the focus away from the cheap scares, and instead showing the misfortunate consequences of an elliptic person stumbling across this game in the first place
6:18 this is horrifyingly identical to some nightmares i used to have. The models, the way sonic gets more deformed as the clock ticks down, its literally like a nightmare I'd have lmao I love your work, my man 💜💜
OMG!! I had a similar nightmare too when I was 7(I'm 29 now)and on a cruise! It was based more on the Sonic Adventure 2 pyramid level, and Shadow was grinding into oblivion and there was a game over that super zoomed into Shadow and he looked just like Sonic with a similar looking background.
I think the continue screen was supposed to know if the player is still alive or not. And when it hits 1, sonic smiles like as he was saying "it worked!"
I have something to say about this. Sometimes, trolls can be murderers. This actually reminds me of a happening where the Epilepsy foundation got weird .GIF's added that have flashing lights, meant to disrupt the epileptic people. It could've killed people, like what happened here, but it didn't. Here, it did.
I noticed that too, but the little detail made it feel so much more sickening. Those kinds of small misspellings are the kind that clue you into someone's emotional hurt. Shaking fingertips.
@@luciehaberzettlova7240 if it was brian, he'd probably be like: "man, this game wasn't all that bad, but i don't really like the black area very much... yeah, like 6/10."
i believe you quite forgot the slightly obvious part of where the funny comes in: as this comment of where i am currently replying in is rhetorical, specifically designed to entertain and amuse those that read it in shorter words its a joke
Im surprised no one seems to have pointed out the symbolism of sonic having bleeding eyes when the narrator's friend died of an epileptic seizure. I think thats really clever symbolism. What a great retake
Man the trippy 3d countdown still sticks with me. It looks so beautifully disturbing, and with the r.i.p bleeding from the top of screen, and turning into the picture afterwards it’s just so well done. I genuinely think your take on blue pendrive is the best one
The most haunting part is the fact is we see Sonic state after the seizure, and we imagine this was the state of the epilepsy victims was found after watching that jumpscare. In this story somebody really understood how to trigger a epilepsy attack, took advantage of the creepypasta's jumpscare bs to hide a trigger that epilepsy, and spread it around the web just to make random victims. In the 90's or early 00's which kids would know or care about that condition?
i grew up in the 90s-2000s. photosensitivity was kinda a big deal back then, at least where I was, because some kids got seizures playing arcade games in the 80s. there was another big hubbub about it in the 90s because of a pokemon episode that only aired in japan and gave kids siezures before it was pulled.
this is probably the only sonic-related creepypasta that's managed to actually disturb me in any way. it's way scarier when the cause of the friend's death is actually believable (an epileptic seizure from the heavy flashing lights in the hack) rather than "AHHHHH sonic is ALIVE and REAL and KILLING all his FRIENDS and he KILLED MY FRIEND and now he's KILLING ME!!!!" and the narrator's reaction is so much more grounded and real. "this is what killed my friend?" hits hard for me. wonderfully done as always!
What makes this video so depressing is that his friend's death was caused by a random sonic troll jumpscare that didn't have a seizure warning. I seen sad stuff but damn, thats just another level of sadness. Anyways keep cooking Leaf, been a big fan of the channel :D
Same. When I saw the clock tick at one, and it stayed at one, I thought the game was glitching, but then I saw Sonic’s face getting more and more terrifying. Honestly, a nice touch to completely horrify someone.
Amazing take on this Leaf, Blue Pendrive has always been one of my favorite Sonic creepypastas and you definitely did it justice. I also translated the text at 5:58 (which is Armenian) and it says "You keep playing this game. You want to see me like this." which is just outright creepy imo. All in all fantastic adaptation and I can't wait to see what else you have in store in the future. Much love to you Leaf, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Aside from being genuinely good creepypasta for once (extremely rare given how much Sonic.exe is still famous), there's something that feels very real about this story. The final lines from the narrator reveals something unique. This isn't your average creepypasta story where the game is a demon/ghost/unknown/evil entity, it's a troll game. I.e a realistic portrayal of a normal piece of software you'd find on a remote place on the internet, solely made by someone to spook an unsuspecting audience. His friend died because he was epileptic. That's a real thing that video games can actually do to some people with this condition. I can't overstate how horrific this piece of art is. It transcended creepypasta to become an actually sad, very realistic story. Wonderful.
This will always be my favourite Sonic related Creepypasta, for the reason that seizure attacks in media that have been unintentional have happened, so one happening intentionally because someone desires to kill someone indirectly is a plausible and terrifying concept. I look forward for what you have to offer for the Luna Game and Coronation Day retakes in the future :)
I really love how the protagonist was not affected by the game and just said "this shit killed my friend"? really a good representation for the real sonic.exe
@@therealmanguyman the .exe is just an executable file. the Sonic is the name of the infected sonic or "sonic.exe" they have the identical name, i think i understand why they call him sonic.exe just to not make confusions on which i think
It's scary that it feels like the video is trying to kill you, I'm not epileptic and I can still feel something in my eyes, and it's not even supposed to be like a creepy Sonic 1 corruption or something, just a troll. Really creepy dude, great job.
I love how when the player gets to the black gibberish stage with the thunder he's so caught offguard and you can tell he begins to slowly panic internally with him jumping alot more frequently than he normally would, it adds to the sense that someone is actually playing the game.
when I was a kid, the original sonic.exe "I am god" screen gave me nightmares. but the suspense and silence of 7:00 ? yeah, if I saw that I think I may have been genuinely traumatised. that was SO unsettling. amazing work.
Yeah, the countdown sequence and that part where sonic is practically melting away in this Is up there with the original I AM GOD image before they changed it to the more boring less scary hyper realistic sonic.exe image.
No joke i felt shivers on my back watching this All the flashy lights in the game are there to cause an epileptic attack, and the "rip" creeping down as the screen goes apeshit makes it seem like something that could actually kill people, not paranormal shit like sonic.exe, just a hackroom made by a sick bastard to cause damage.
This game in the remastered creepypasta was clearly meant to kill a person through seizure, so...what kind of murder is this? Cybermurder? Killing someone through some form of media?
Goijg off the game version BibingLeaf made, it had no epilepsy warning, adding the way Sonic is depicted with bloodshot eyes dead, the RIP on the jumpscare and such, the lack of warning is intentional, this is meant to harm people, it probably was posted and shared either on a burner account or by a anonymous user in the universe of the story
The terrifying thing about this is not only the context that surrounds the story, but this could have been perfectly real, since cases like those of creepy people convincing and deceiving people to do something on the Internet, without revealing to them that this could put them at risk. endangering their lives for fun, unfortunately it is not a particularly isolated case on the internet.
i still remember the guy who later ran harddrivemag, ran a clickbait site called play4real, which had a fake story about a kid dying from playing sonic via epilepsy
WAIT the red dripping at 6:56 says R.I.P. That m makes me think it’s truly a troll game *designed* to cause epileptic seizures, if the red and white flashes weren’t enough. it’s too taunting
6:14 This “Give up?” Sequence is so freaking good, not only does it look scary, but it looks super well made. (Also is that Sonic 3D? I can’t tell but his hand looks like it.)
6:02: “you (in plural form) continued to play this game, you (in singular form) wanted to see me like this.” this caught me off guard ngl, never expected someone to use my language (Armenian) in creepypastas :D
I love the little subtle details in everything here! From Sonics idle having slightly more opened eyes when entering Marble Zone to the thunder zone to the 3D sonic for the continue screen! Fabulous Job in every regard!
This one is...strangely realistic and sad. I really felt the narrator's anger in this. Imagine having to live with the knowledge that one of your closest friends is dead, because some moron decided one day they were going to be edgy and make a troll game with zero seizure warnings.
What’s really scares me here is the secondary shock after the bloody Sonic face is revealed at 6:11. Imagine you’re having a seizure from the first flash, then the game basically laughs in your face as it shows a horrifyingly deformed Sonic and the game finishes you off while you’re still in shock by giving another flash. Terrifying to think about…
"This garbage killed my friend?" W quote from the MC right there. Not frightened by the game, but mad at the destiny it sent his friend to. I could teach you some spanish too if u want XD
I just can't get over how good this looks! I genuinely thought that this was a ROM Hack of some sort. Trust me, I've seen Sonic's Gaming Hub's Engine, and it wasn't Genesis accurate as your game is! Man, I really love this creepypasta for it beeing the very first Sonic-related creepypasta ever. This deserves more attention.
my first vibingleaf video apart from red mist retake, and holy shit, i have never felt so utterly terrified, this is both heartwrenching and horrifying, oh my god. well done
Holy shit, this is one of the best creepy pasta retakes ever. It’s… so real, I love VibingLeaf because they don’t just have the cliche “I AM GOD” or some shit like that. They actually have realism tied with it, some kid died since the rom hack had no warning that there was flashing lights/ imagery, that could’ve happened before.
The fact the countdown is probably to see if the player is still responding, and the way sonic smiles if they arent,,, This is the first time a sonic creepypasta video has genuinely terrified me xd
You genuinely make some of the creepiest imagery ever. It's been a long while since I ever got the feeling of chills going down my spine from media, and your content does it for me just from looking at the timeline thumbnails alone. Absolutely well done sir.
bro the countdown was so effective with what it aimed to achieve, that was stressing asf, the way it dragged on and the moment when it hit zero and that little noise played was masterfully done also a question to leaf themselves that i've been meaning to ask for a while now, how do you manage to pump out all those vids so frequently and consistently? do you have other people assisting you in your art or do you work by yourself?
Thank you so much for your kind words! :D I work by myself, this was made faster thanks to the game engine I've used made by @SonicsGamingHub_YT to make it more like a Sonic 1 game :] For artwork, I do work by myself on that as well, I guess I got used to it? It's fun :D Perhaps I'll try to make a behind the scenes video
Oh my god this is so good!! I love blue pendrive as himself, he's a lil bloody goober sonic like the rest of them, I originally saw Kōmo's Blue Pendrive video, which was pretty nice. However i like both equalyl! I just think it'd be cooler with instead of the countdown starting with him having bloody eyes, it should've slowly bled as it counted down, overall i love both your blue pendrive takes!
LET'S GO! IT WON THE VOTE!! love how you still incorporated the original spanish text, oh and how the way the flashdrive was given made more sense realistically and practically, very nice. love that their are already noticable signs of the game being off, from the messed up ui and font, sonic's icon already had bleading eyes. and how the levels are different too, marble zone is in the sunset now oh and how sonic has his CD sprites. also it being an apparent *"troll"* game instead of being a physical copy intended to actually hurt people is somehow ironically more darker, fascinating.
Sonic using CD sprites is fitting since the original Pendrive was passed off as a fake Sonic 1, and the actual Sonic 1 and CD have the same sprite style and palette for our blue hedgehog.
i think a troll game actually causing harm is a pretty neat concept, i think it would make for a interesting story if a shitty exe game with cheap flashing lights jumpscares got something like this to happen and scary ghost haunting cartridge shenanigans ensue
Just realized when Sonic goes through the Weird dark level, At the end where He spins the signal, There is a frame where Robotnik's image Is changed with a Creepy red version of Him. Cool video too.
It's criminal that Sonic Exe was more popular than this story initially. Despite not having any supernatural elements to it, the mystery and suspense in the original story makes it more terrifying to find out what Gonzalez avoided had he not pressed continue. It's really cool that you made an alternate take on the ending. Legit cool ngl.
The moment were TheVibingLeaf se convirtio en LaHojaChill Me sorprende que sepas español, ngl. Ah y buen video hermano, la peor parte es que esa historia podria pasar si un nene con problemas de epilepsia tiene acceso de internet insupervisado
(second comment woah) 6:32 what makes this part unsettling for me is the fact that sonic's face gets deformed in a way that it makes his smile grow bigger as if, whoever programmed this, is happy that his plan of killing people with epiletic attacks worked What makes this even more evident is the taunting "R.I.P." texts with the deformed sonic drawing after the countdown AND the double-down flashing images after the texts stopped falling down, to make sure it really worked This adaptation is so well made! your videos never fails to keep me awake at night lol
Jesus that was something a troll game being intentionally edgy and "scary" unintentionally killing someone is such a real concept and horrifyingly realistic i feel this is more sad than scary especially towards the ends but i do love it great job vibingleaf!
my friend is epileptic and i can understand this, im so scared for him when we play things together and theres is not warning for lights Pd: gracias por los subtitulos :)
At first, i thought this was a cheap non-scary Sonic.EXE game video, but in the end.. i have no words. Masterpiece. Edit: I hate to say this but the death of an innocent person because of a troll EXE game is both scarier and more painful for me.
Sometimes I wonder how vibing leaf makes theses games, it must be so hard to recreate these types of classic games! Keep up the good work man! Real fan🗿
the spanish its kinda choppy, but i will guess its bc you used a translator bc some sentences are translated literally (for example "troll's game" was translated to "game of trolls") but after those nitpicks this is a really good faithful recreation of possibly the origin of sonic.exe, good job! it really surprises me how no one tried to recreate it before lol
There’s either two ways to see this story 1: this is a troll game made to target people with a history with seizures. Considering there are two separate times the flashing lights appeared and they were as bright and frantic as possible. Which is dark 2: the other way is that there is a demon possessing the game. However instead of trying to just spook the player then exit the game to kill them, it kills them via seizures to make the incident seem more like an accident, a mistake. Either way this was a great way to tell the story and the fact sonic deforming at the continue screen was well done! And the fact the MC is more mad that a game this garbage killed his friend really hits. Great work!
Leaf, you absolutely outdid yourself with this reimagining! El Pendrive Azul was the first pasta I've ever listened to and became utterly terrified of it as a kid. Seeing it in a video form now has made me terrified of it as an adult. Thank you so much for reimagining it, it's probably your best but I may be biased, heheh.
i think this is some of your best work since the red mist video. that countdown was genuinely unnerving, and any horror that doesn't rely on jumpscares to be scary gets big respect from me.
