Evil Trapezium I'll admit that the lack of increased speed on classic is just terrible. Maybe because Sega isn't done implementing the super sonic code in yet since he's not available to use. But saying modern stages is boost to win is kind of a stretch. Especially at late game stages, I'll tell you that I've died many times from holding down on that boost button

I'm not saying that Modern Sonic can get through stages just by holding the boost down. I'm saying that the Boost is essentially invincibility with a press of a button and the enemies amount to fodder because of it. What happened to just attacking the enemy at the right time instead of mindlessly boosting through them with a press of a button? I just don't like the Boost era gameplay at all. They make the levels hallway-ish, they add unnecessary 2D section into the game, Sonic controls like a car instead of a character and all it amounts to is just a few minutes of a cheap thrill ride with no other substance.

Evil Trapezium Considering the plot of the game, Super Sonic is necessary. Comsidering the actual game mechanics, apparently not. But hey! Eggman has already created something able to hurt Super Sonic before (Sonic Rush final boss), so the Phantom Ruby could probably create illusions of this which would provide challenge even in Super form.

Super Sonic has no relevance to the plot at all and if the Phantom Ruby does harm Super Sonic then that would destroy the entire point of being Super Sonic.

Evil Trapezium It has relevance. A stronger form of what Tails calls "our shining hope" is needed when things like 80% of the resistance has been wiped out. Not to mention following logic, Super Sonic could fly the Original Character to the illusion Star created to destroy the world to make it disappear faster. This form would make the game's attempt to say that the situation being dire much more believable.

There is a lot of problems with classic sonic thats one of the reasons the game is disliked and the other two are simply short game and bad level design. They can fix classic sonic tbh all they gotta do is actually give him momentum and make him run faster while going down hill. I hope maybe theyll do something for that tho

Yeah mania was building up the return of hyper sonic. Super emeralds was shown, phantom ruby can harm super sonic, thought for sure they were going to need hyper form to beat infinite. But nope.

1st game does not count it was a new concept the sonic franchise, cd also in that boat but for different reasons, such as being oroginally the part of sonic 2, the game was split into both 2 and CD.

Not everybody in the Sonic series needs to turn Super. I think its best left for a "Sonic only" type of deal. Plus as someone said before I doubt out of the blue the Avatar would just somehow know how to harness the Chaos Emeralds power and learn to go Super. Its not something literally anybody can preform on their first try. Besides, Sonic and the Avatar are clearly shown to be powerful enough to take on virtually any enemy regardless of size and strength simply in their base forms.

It's future DLC,so maybe when it comes out there will be story with it.
