This stage was pretty decent. Something I have to note however, is how I absolutely adore the overall aesthetic in the first half. I like the contrast of overcast weather and Ocean against the mechanical plant and how it really localizes the location. It's a nice twist rather than just another redux of the same aesthetic.
I forget the real world term for this style of chemical plant, but I agree with you on that, mate. Speaking of real world chemical plants, they actually are designed like miniature cities of metal. And called chemical plants, cause... obviously.
@Spidey fan Also, all of the levels in Forces (except for Arsenal Pyramid, Mortar Canyon, Aqua Road, Null Space, Imperial Tower, Metroplitan Highway, and Final Judgement) have the 2.5D split paths, which is still fun, but the small qualm I have with the split paths in Forces is that they mostly appear in 2.5D. And the alternate pathways that are in 3D are simply exploits meant to give the player a challenge of finding Red Star Rings. While this is still evident both here and in Null Space, the paths here (and again, in Null Space) actually feel like something more than simple exploits.
0:48 just when the song about to get into the best part, the soundtrack ends. It makes many people don't know how good this soundtrack is. Man this game so short
Out of all the Modern Sonic Levels, this was the best one. The multiple paths may not have been obvious, but I still like how they were implemented. The stage looks linear, but it really isn't.
the problems with this stage: (like all the stages in the game) it's way too fucking short and the speed sense in this game isn't fast enough, even Sonic Generation's chemical plant was more dynamic and fun to replay than this one, the multiple paths makes it better than the other stages, but the slow gameplay and stage length doesn't make it as good as before. which is very disappoiting.
A very nicely designed stage, all the alternate pathways in the 2D sections are cleverly hidden, and you really have to open your eyes to catch them. Without a doubt my favorite Modern Sonic stage in the game.
What is so "nicely designed" about pointless and and annoying 2D claustrophobic shit ? Clever my ass, all you do is waiting for the showers to move the platforms. Good to know the average Sonic fan who buy this garbage has no standards.....
Greatest artist Who ever lived A bleak ocean and a bunch of oil rig-looking platforms covered in snow. Nice, but very run of the mill, and ultimately meaningless as you don't get to explore any of them. If I wanted to see a beautiful stage, I'd watch Eggmanland from Unleashed. This is just very generic and forgettable. The game itself is garbage, face it. And there's no such thing as "true Sonic fans". There's Sonic fans, fanboys who hate almost everything except a handful of selected games, and corporate slaves who will eat anything SEGA craps out. Forces is so mediocre and lame, it makes 06 look like a masterpiece. At least 06 made Shadow look like a badass and Mephiles was a cool villain. Shadow in Forces was useless and Infinite was a complete joke.
Yeah, it's the same shit as Colors. Linear boost to win corridors that play by themselves and blocky 2D crap that takes the majority of the stage. If you call this shit fun......
Remember when people were tolerant? those were the days. Nowadays we got people like you that can't accept others for liking something you hate. Just because they like it doesn't make them a "corporate slave". Imma blow your mind with this crazy fact: People all have different preferences on what they find good or bad. no one's black and white. But I'm defending someone for liking this game that you happen to hate so I'm just being a corporate slave while you continue to claim your blatant refusal-of-acceptance as "criticism"
Rhythm Audino TL;DR : STAHP HAETEENG ON WHAT I LIEK BOO HOO U MEANIE If you feel so attacked by a mere comment calling out this game, that's just sad. Also, a mind blowing fact for you : most Sonic fans don't know wtf they want and have fucked up priorities. Pretty sure most of them act like shills and accept every shit thrown at them.
Okay. So there is a reason this is one of my favorite Modern Sonic stages...No, my FAVORITE Modern Sonic Stage! So i will take it upon myself to tell you WHY this stage is so damn good. 1:The level design, most levels in Sonic Forces are Pretty Poorly designed, but THIS ONE feels like its straight out of Sonic Colors/Generations, And I MEAN that when i say it, for one, the rails in most levels save you from falling, almost as if it pities your normie skills if this is your first time, but this level REQUIRES skill to master, instead of fucking pitying your sorry ass, it also compliments speed, witch is necessary in a game about speed. 2:The music: most of the stages range from pretty good to absolutely fucking atrocious But this stage earns a Sonic 3 soundtrack level (on a scale of Sonic 3 to a Sonic eraser) it also is speed-based, witch once again, is necessary. 3: its gimmick is pretty well put together,(the purple water) it makes it so you have to time your jumps instead of you just jumping any fucking time, its makes it more difficult, while also not making it too difficult. Really this level is a perfect mix between difficult an ease, and i wish more stages were structured like this ( im looking at YOU lost valley)
Rails..... rails and straight pathways. On the surface it looks nice. There's a considerable amount of detail in the background, but the levels don't really have much going for them it seems. They're just so short and linear. It's frustrating.
Sonic games are now linear cuz its better to manage boast nd easily to work mechanics....ppl complained about mechanics in non linear sonic games. The first sonic games was 2d linear. Sonic unleashed mechanic of linear was the best for me but to most ppl one of the best nd sonic team realized that a linear 3d sonic game is easier managed better mechanics easy boast control so its just for the best.
except sonic generations had good controls and wasn't linear. There's no excuse to defend the linearity of sonic forces, even the sense of speed in the game is WAY slower than in Generations, which was already a little slower than unleashed. the truth is that SEGA didn't care to sonic forces as much as they did for unleashed or generation, it's pretty obvious: 1- Classic Sonic wasn't needed, on generations it's justified since it's a game to celebrate the Blue Hedgehog's anniversary, and even if it's not perfect on generations (I highly dislike how slippy classic sonic is when jumping, sometimes making me miss jumps and land on spikes or fall in bottomless pits, losing a life for a stupid reason), it's at least playable and even fun on some levels (city escape being the best one imo). On forces however, they made him too damn heavy, it's way more annoying to do plataforming with Forces classic sonic rather than Generations Classic sonic, idk how they fucked something that was already playable 6 years ago, but they did. 2 - Story is so bland, even Generations story was better written than Forces story, the characters don't even get character development at all, and the OC, while being a neat idea on paper, is way too underused and unnecessary for the plot, the idea of him and both sonic's being a trio to stop Infinity had some potential, but the OC can easily get removed from the story and it will play just fine without him. which is strange considering the OC character teaming up with sonic and his friends was the main idea behind forces, so you would at least expect him to be interesting to the plot, but nah, it's just a GTA Online character which only do what everyone wants him to do and that's it. and lastly: Infinite sucks, it's one of the worst sonic villains in the franchise, he was a mercenary that only loses a fight to Shadow and... that's it, that's how he became the bad guy from sonic forces... Even Sonic 06 had a good villain like mephiles and iblis fusing themselves to form Solaris, the god that soleanna people worshipped, and the battle theme was too damn good, Infinite is just... meh. 3 - Tails character is stupid in this game, he Sees Chaos 0, the WEAKEST form of Chaos, and all he does is cover himself infear and scream "SoNiC hELp MeEeEEe!", like what the fuck, What about sonic adventure Tails Story, where he had a whole "believe in yourself" story arc, heck he even fought CHAOS 4 (alongside knuckles and sonic, yes, but he didn't back up, it's not like tails is weak without them, he fought Robotnick on Ark all by himself in SA2 in order to avenge sonic, tails is far from weak or scared of fighting, they had the opportunity to make him badass, and they dropped the balls.) and won, why the hell would Chaos 0 be a worse threath than Chaos 4? (oh and chaos only appears to die to ONE hit to classic sonic... what a waste.) 4 - Way too automatic and it's the first "Boost to win" sonic game, No seriously: you don't even have to actually try hard to finish stages, the game is so automatic that even falling is difficulty, because the game adjust the angle of sonic when he's near the border of the stage, thus preventing him from falling... and about the "boost to win" thing... it's because boost is highly limited, and when you use it... it's in a scripted sequence where all you gotta do is hold the boost button to win, without really caring if you run out of boost because now instead of rings, wisps fills up your boost gauge, so yeah... there's no challenge because or freedom to speedrun the level because you have to do it EXACTLY how the devs want... without being creative or actually trying to fill up your boost gauge so you don't lose speed, it's all scripted... yay... 5 - levels are too damn short, Sonic generations levels were way longer than Sonic forces's levels, it's just laziness from the devs, not anything related to "better controls" or "limitations" to make better levels, it's just straight up incompetency. so yeah, open your mind and don't let them fool you, if you act like this is justified, then they simply won't bother making each new sonic game worse and more unoriginal than forces.
This couldve been a great game, but it had too many bad decisions. First, Classic Sonic was not needed, but if Mania happened only because of this game then ok whatever. Second, crap or short level design. Third, weakass story. Fourth, worst new villain origin ever! Infinite couldve been so much more.
@@naoaquieopatrickpatrick8565 the levels that WERE original were actually awesome tho. it sucks that they had to use green hill zone 13 times instead of the new stages they created. id much rather spaceport or white metropolis 13 times rather than that.
@@milky243 so awesome that they can all be Summed on "boost to Win", "speedrunning Sonic forces without trying to speedrun It" or even "levels that are so automatic It requires little to no input from the player to be beaten the game", Sonic forces has the laziest and most uninteresting level design I've ever seem, Its like If they accidentally released a prototype of a Sonic generations remake but lacking actual alternate paths that are longer than 5 seconds and with even less enemy Variety, alongside with a broken classic Sonic gameplay. This game isnt the WORST thing in the Sonic franchise, because Sonic 06 and Boom are a thing, but both games suffered from deadlines, and even so you can see the devs put some heart on what they were doing, despite being considered bad games. Sonic forces is Just bad for pure lazyness.
@@carlostapuera7149 as partes 2d do sonic forces são muito focadas em plataforma e isso é chato, no sonic unleashed por exemplo, a correria continuava desenfreadamente mesmo nas partes em 2d
