It was cool to see Neo Metal play a major role in this. Especially considering his previous and only other appearance was in Sonic Heroes (as well as some appearances in the comics). The amount of work put into this mod is incredible. Great work to everyone involved.
I honestly thought they were going to use this as an explanation for why/how he became Neo in the IDW comics, but the ending sadly doesn't allow for that. Overall this project was really great though.
@goldlight1322 Yeah I'm kinda bummed this sadly can't fit into canon, don't get me wrong it's great that it did its own thing but it's just so cool I want to just consider it canon, but sadly it isn't able to fit. Either way, it's still goated
@@GoldLight73 IDW already has an explanation. Eggman gave Metal the neo upgrade as a fallback in case the Eggman Empire falls or if/when Eggman dies. Neo Metal’s motivation was to inherit the Eggman Empire since Eggman was in his “Mr Tinker” phase.
If someone was looking at me the way Sonic did infinite, I'd be like "what did I do wrong, why are you looking at me like that, and why do I hear boss music playing" tbh
I gotta hand it to the voice actors! Neo Metal's voice is extremely fitting and has a beautiful synthetic feel to it while Infinite's VA does a phenomenal job emulating Liam O'Brien's impression and tone - while also adding some extra charm that still feels appropriate! The remaining cast is equally as stellar and it's honestly hard to pick a favorite!
19:00 is nobody going to talk about this? That’s some serious character development right there. He was way in over his head, he was rather called out on it, and he was able to realize it and apologize. It takes strength to be able to do that.
You're 100% right. It just oozes sinister energy. Not to mention, the emphasis placed on some consonants combined with the voice filter emulates the clank of a machine. If this were official instead of a fan-made project, that voice would become the definitive, iconic voice for Metal Sonic.
@@AshtonHenry900Which is really cool. It’s like how Shadow and Sonic used to share the same VA. It’s not super noticeable unless you’re told, but it really does help the two characters feel like counterparts.
@@jakubwiktor5874 You people need to stop saying shit like this. No, Mania was NEVER a fan game, the mania team are all professionals who PREVIOUSLY worked on fan content, several years before Mania. They had already made official sonic content by then. Being a fan is not all it takes/
What quality? Literally nothing happened in this story. Metal and Infinite showed up, made a dumb mistake and got beat. Sonic yaps a lot here and not a single quip of his is good. His apology doesn't even sound genuine because the writing's not good
Given that Sega is so warm towards fanmade content creators, there's a good chance the person behind this game will actually be welcomed to help with a new official game and that's really nice to know.
I was not a fan of Metal Sonic's voice at first but it really grew on me as the video went on to be one of my favorites. Heck I'd say all of the VAs here were fantastic especially for a fan project
eh they brought the long boy infinite's back lets go i love them things for some reason i see them and i smile also love the fact neo metal sonic seems alil upset when sonic called him metal sonic and said to him neo metal sonic he like put some respect on my forms name
This is the type of story Sonic Team should’ve done from the start. Not only that, the level lengths in Overclocked is how long the stages should’ve been in Forces.
Bruh what? This story sucks, literally nothing happened. Infinite and Metal showed up, made a dumb mistake and got clapped easily. Sonic yaps a lot and his dialogue's not funny or cool or anything. His apology barely sounded genuine, and that was an out of character move too Sonic's all about the superpower of teamwork.
It was still better than IDW And Infinite was suposed to be stronger than the regular one who Sonic already struggled to beat with help, its like Goku Black and Jiren losing to base Goku and a random base form OC, cmon was it hard make the end a Super Sonic fight ? But it still made Metal look like a joke at the end, seriously, base Neo already can defeat Sonic quite easily, Neo with the ruby alone should ANIHILATE both of Sonic and the OC
I wish Sega would do what they should've done is Sonic's version of Majora's Mask. Like his Nintendo Counterpart Skull Kid he should be saved and redeemed. So that is what they should do if they bring him back.
Thanks forever for giving Neo Metal the real attention he deserved; dropping him after Heroes was such a waste of a character. Here he actually gets to be cool and fight properly. Good luck to him with dealing with the void; and good luck to Infinite in I guess starving to death
As much as I think this is cool, I have a slight query about the story. Tell me if I’m not alone in this by thinking Infinite MIGHT have been the smarter one than Metal Sonic? His thinking seemed way too much like he was just copying Eggman’s playbook, especially with Infinite pointing out he put the energy core in the SAME PLACE.
that was meant to be the irony of metal sonics character in overclocked, even though he hated his master and wanted to go off on his own, he was still built and programmed by him, and was basically doomed to make the same mistakes
