every time I get the Sonic itch I try to convince myself to finally buy Frontiers only to remember what it actually looks and plays like and then I decide against it lol

Cyberspace speedruns do a good job of making the game look fun, but then I remember the actual controls that those players are wrangling with

If you ever do cave (don’t, just play some fan games) remember to get it on PC so you can apply mods to make it much much less stupid.

I’m not sure why the comment section acts like “Sonic is not worth playing. 0 joy to be had.” As someone who likes platformers, there’s fun to be had here, especially with the movement tech. There are levels you’ll find that you like. Try things out yourself! Your OWN opinions.

Probably the most goated moment I’ve experienced watching Pariah was when he defended me from a couple harassers on stream. If you want to know more watch the end of the switch games stream

😒 can we add some new types in this heroes typing? And maybe improve the speed, power and flight/technique type? Here are these two new types that i want the series to incorporate. I'm calling them the Sneak-type and the Control-type. Sneak-type is a type that highly relies on level design, physics and precision. Sneak-type characters traverse via concealing and use crafty methods, abilities, tools and set pieces to deal with obstacles. (Yes, you can also put traps and additional set pieces in a level.) You gain a huge boost and buff during and after an automation or hitting set pieces like springs, dash panels, rainbow rings, etc. Sneak-types cannot move as fast as the other types in their own movement. Nor can they deal with obstacles head on. Although they can jump higher and bounce off of segments. They can defeat enemies via traps or sneak attack. But you can also use enemies to latch on to (or possibly ride on) them to get past a segment or find hidden parts of a level. Getting hit would also have a big knockback along with the rings and the i-frame lasts longer than the other four types when hit. In contrast to Sneak-type, Control-type is a type that has total control over movement and does not have you relying on the environment or parts of the level to traverse. Instead, you pass through stages by dominating or taking control of the environment and obstacles to make your way to goal. And you have total control of your air movement and travel speed. They are like an overpowered version of the flight, power and speed type. However, control-types lack the physics based movement and are vulnerable in stages. In fact, you have to avoid making contact with the levels or you'll get immobilized and fall off due to poor physics movement. Control-types are faster in their default speed, but can't gain any more speed like the Speed-type. You can fly easily, but currents will immobilize you rather than taking you to where you want to be like the Fly-type. Driving away obstacles with great might like a Power-type doesn't involve momentum like Terence from angry birds. The level layouts limit what you can do in a level. The duration of i-frame when hit is shorter than the other types. You can practically do anything as long as you don't let the stages mess up your control. This type requires your creativity and full attention towards the levels and obstacles that comes at you. Especially obstacles that would take you by surprise. How would this play out though? I'm guessing that the homing reticle would lock on to multiple targets including your own attack, ammo, energy or whatever to form into a bigger attack as well as walls, tunnels, shields, containment cells, anything for you to protect yourself and bypass segments, puzzles and obstacles that require this kind of gameplay. Now let's flesh out the the other three types. Speed, Power and Fly should work like a mix of both Sneak and Control. Speed-type, as you already know, uses surfaces like ground, walls, set pieces to move around and go faster and the rest is whatever you'd expect a character to have. Now let's combine the homing attack with the boost and tornado attack. It'll be like that scene in the sonic unleashed opening with sonic running around at the robot, as well as 2006 with sonic circling around them. And this homing boost tornado is gonna launch the user to any direction you point at, but with height gain like badnik bounce. In wall jumping, you have the option of either jumping on wall to wall to move manually or bouncing on walls like it's pinball in 3d. Combine this with the homing boost tornado and they go even faster BEYOND. Though we need a brake for all of these speedy moveset b'cuz there is NO speed cap with this type. And set pieces like springs, dash panels and rainbow rings can't cap down your speed. Also parkour exist. Gain enough speed to run on walls, ceilings or any surfaces. Flight, technique, whatever you call this type. I want flying to work like the 2d classic games where the air action makes tails defy gravity and float the air and gain bigger height when force is applied like your jump. There should also be currents or something flying physics based that will affect your flying. Would also be great if surfaces can work as some kind of air push when flying. What else?.. Ah! How about we do more with the thunder shoot ability, by having the user rush towards the character or object that the fly-type throwed in high speed. And when that flying-type catches the character/item projectile, he/she immediately enters flight mode and gets launched by the movement/force/momentum/speed (sorry 😅 I dunno what physics) when rushing at the thrown object/character. But be careful when doing rubber band slinging like this. Let's also make thunder shoot home in on rings like the light speed dash. Power-type should work the same as always have, but with very high mass and momentum with their movement and applied to their striking power like if Terence from angry birds were in a platformer/action game. They have the shortest knockback when hit. You lose more or less rings depending on how strong/hard the enemies and obstacles hit you. When getting hit, you lose rings one at a time like standing on lava and getting shot repeatedly in P-06, unless it's something . However, Power-type characters can also lose all of his/her rings if hit super hard enough. Power-types can affect the stage by breaking through walls and making tunnels in thick solid paths with their brute force and rings and power-ups can be found when doing it. And like what knuckles should be capable of, Power-types can climb on walls and go from wall to wall like the speed type but slower. Well, that's it. I hope this isn't too long or too messy. I'm tired 😪.
