I like how with the scream it implies that the cyber corruption’s full power is actually too much for even Super Sonic to handle and that Sonic is in pain while using it

@@megapulsar9244wonder why, the scream adds so much to the scene. Even without knowing about it I thought that moment was odd in English dub. My only guess is that someone at Sega was concerned that little Jimmy would be traumatized from hearing his favourite character scream in pain or something.
@@sixtyfivekills4543 its because due to the Japanese being recorded after all the other versions of the game. they have access to the finished scenes of the game. English and the other languages do not get to see the scene
Honestly I like the spazzing out scene both with and without the screaming. It's awesomely painful-sounding with it and I goddamn LOVE it but hear me out : without it, the loud glitching noise almost seems like THAT's his voice and it just comes out like that because the transformation messes him up so hard. And that also goes hard in my brain. I love both versions !
it's because when Jason voiced sonic in sonic x, Sega and 4kids had a contract deal where the voice actors from the English dub of sonic x would voice act in the games. So, when the contract deal expired Jason couldn't be used as the voice of sonic. So that's why Jason doesn't voice sonic anymore.
It's a 4Kids contract thing, they expire as you know. Shame cause Jason was really getting used to Sonic at the point which you can tell with Unleashed and Black Knight where he's, in my humble opinion, fantastic in those games. Kinda funny too cause I like to imagine the situation was like "Ah good job Jason, your performance was great! Also you're being replaced next week. Please don't call us for a new contract ever again."
@@rubinmuttoriginal7444 because they held auditions for the new Eggman voice and Mike auditioned and Sega felt Mike fit Eggman so well they just kept him as the voice of eggman.
@rammyri To be fair, Super Sonic has done that plenty of times before that, Final Hazard, Solaris, Dark Gaia. I just know that Time Eater definitely wasn't the first nor the last time to do that move
Junichi Kanemaru and Roger Craig Smith both did good. And I'm also glad more people nowadays are aware of what goes on in voiceover. But also remember that both Junichi and Roger probably recorded multiple takes of their lines. The performance we hear in game could have been their first take or their 20th or 100th. They don't pick which take gets into the game, SEGA does (probably).

Is it just me or does Sonic He Gets corruped by the blast Depressing caue in the part where hes getting conrolled or smth just makes it look like hes dying or smth
My big brother has played Genshin Impact and he's very aware that I'm a big fan of Sonic before and after Genshin Impact robbing "Player Voice of Game Awards 2022" and removing bot account votes for Sonic Frontiers, and he even makes me mad for making dirty jokes about Sonic! Now the sibling rivalry is about to rematch, because he know that I'm *UNDEFEATABLE!* My reaction when this happened is even like this!
I will say Junichi's scream is better at capturing the pain in Sonic's voice, but I will admit Roger did good too, they probably just didn't want him hurting himself by accident, despite the fact that he's a professional, just like all the rest of them.
I like both but Roger has a more visceral scream, while the other is a bit too chocked up in my opinion, it focuses more on pain though so I can see why others might like it more. My opinion tho. Thoughts?
Personally i love both Though roger slightly more because i didn’t really think sonic was in pain, more so just overcharging his power to a mastered ui with a x10 kaioken sorta way, where hes likely not in pain but it’s definitely taking a massive tole on his body
Nah, Roger was definitely held back for some dumb dubbing reasons. He was decent enough, but Kanemaru has litteraly been doing this for decades now, and he is STILL at the top of his game here.
I think Roger's screams in the base game when getting corrupted woulda fit here ngl. That scene was great cause even in ENG he was in pain and I felt it. He still did good and it did feel more about the power than the pain where as JPN...jeez does it sound painful
