Try the game on High Speed Style, Turn all the Physics sliders all the way up except Jump Deceleration that one all the way down and Deceleration Rate at 15%, S Rank all the Action Chain Challenges to Unlock the Spindash, S Rank the Cyberspace Challenge Mode to Unlock the Power Boost in Cyberspace, and Fully Upgrade Sonic’s Speed Stat for the BEST experience playing this game.
@@TheWiiUEnthusiast I think you’ll have to do a New Game Plus save file to restart with the High Speed Style so it’d be best to Unlock the Spindash and Fully Upgrade Sonic on your first Save File and then start the NG+ from there. Also some physics settings I forgot to mention, set your starting speed at 30 and enable maintain your boost during a jump. Some fun Movement techniques the game doesn’t explain is Rail launching where you can go high up by jumping off a rail at the right angle, Sonic won’t Stick on certain ground like the Black Platforms so you can fling yourself off them by boosting and you’ll still be able to double jump (this applies to any ground when using the Spindash), right before reaching the edge of a climbable wall you can boost jump off it to go high up, also you can activate the drop dash by holding the jump button after a double jump. Frontiers is terrible when it comes to explaining its movement options to casual players.
@@Terminal_Apotos The movement techniques and settings will be useful, although unfortunately I accidentally overwrote my original save file with the NG+ one so won't be able to get the spindash and full upgrades on the old save file. But yeah, frontiers isn't great at teaching you anything other than the combos in the loading screens (Which aren't particularly useful imo)
Yeah I agree, while the open world terrain isn't designed for Sonic platforming terrain, the platforming challenges abd towers are quite fun. Puzzles are quite easy though. Presentation could be better. Polish is almost there, just needs one more patch and there's no annoying bugs. Combat is also quite mindless, except for the cyloop. I feel the titan fights are more about spectacle than substance, but the other fights utilise Sonic's movements well. It's probably the least gimmicky Sonic game we've had in a while. Story is a bit of a confusing mess, but has good characterisation. The koko minigames are alright. Physics I think are still a bit janky. Have they fixed the pop-in yet?
@TheWiiUEnthusiast Ah OK, shame though, while the final horizon was a great way to end it off, are they not even adding some further minor patches every now and then?
