Wait, the Chaotix were chosen because their previous game was similar to what they wanted to do with Sonic Heroes?! Dude, that's crazy, because Sonic Heroes might as well be a Knuckles Chaotix remake. The plot of both games is that Metal Sonic is returning, all the gameplay is similar to its predecessors but is now team-based, and the final boss is Metal Sonic _transformed into a giant mecha monster_.

5:37 I love when designers give their characters personality quirks like that. Like Crash juggling wumpa fruit or dancing/shivering in the cold when idle. Or Spike in Ape Escape playing with his Stun Club. Mario taking a nap when idle. Little things like that are so cool.

This game, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations are my most favorite games in the franchise.

Underrated Sonic game. Way better than the adventure series, its closer to the original Genesis games and has that same Arcade-y feel to it. Sonic games are best when the gameplay is first

Really underrated game. The dialogue is super corny, but who cares, the game play is great. Really good level design and the 3 team mechanic is fun to master.

Heroes is possibly the biggest mixed bag in Sonic history. That's just me, though.

Pissed myself when I saw this uploaded. I think with some tweaks, Heroes could be a great game. The idea could work very much, and at times does.

Adored this game when I was a kid, re-played it a couple of years ago and it still holds up perfectly well to this day.

Funny, tall, handsome and smart. Likes romance and treats women with the respect they deserve. Eggman is literally the perfect man.

Sonic Heroes was the first Sonic game I ever played and was sooo great.

Had a lot of fun playing this back in 2004. Its very clear to see the simulates between Sonic The Comic's Charmey and Heroes version!

Sonic Heroes is underappreciated.

Funny thing is, I just recently remembered playing this as a kid and I started watching some speedruns and gameplay. The Nostalgia was real let me tell you.

The intro theme to this game is insane. The lyrics are crazy

My favorite Sonic Game

I love this game so much. The level design is excellent, the music is great, I love the team system (though the flying bits could've been done better), I really admired how the boss battles kept the speed element (and inspired the modern boss battles in games like Unleashed and Colors), and I gotta give it props for reviving Chaotix. My only real issues with the game were how you had to beat the game 4 times and win that stupid Chaos Emerald minigame 7 times to get to the final boss, the English voices were grating, and a lot of times you didn't snap to rails and fell to your death.

This whole comment section: _"Unpopular opinion: this game is good and I like it, it so underrated"_ ...the opinion is not "unpopular" if more than half of the fucking top comments are saying that, you know. It is not "underrated" either if it has held such a good standing after all these years.

I know this one is divisive, but this is actually one my favorite sonic games, like...top five, maybe top 3, it's frantic and fast and the team mechanic is something I miss, plus the return of the Chaotix. It does have some issues that you have to learn to compensate for ( the slippery controls mostly) but a game doesn't have to be perfect for me to enjoy it

I went to a Circuit City in 2003, when I was 7 years old. I saw the Gamecube, along with the xbox, displayed next to each other. The gamecube had a copy of Sonic Heroes running on it. I was horrible at it. Therefore, that was the first Sonic game I've ever played. I got a Gamecube Christmas 2004, along with SADX, SA2B in 2006, and Sonic Heroes for the PC in 2006. it took my brother and I until the summer of 2010 to complete Sonic Heroes on a second computer. I scrapped the game in 2011 because we got an iMac and I never thought I would end up buying my own PC one year later. In the summer of 2015, I was looking at some garage sales and I found a Gamecube copy of Sonic Heroes in a very badly battered game case. I looked at the disc to make sure it wasn't scratched up or anything. The disc was pristine, almost in mint conditon. I was so excited! It was $2, so I quickly snatched it up. Once home, I showed the game to my brother and he was very excited that I found the game again. From there, we fired up the Wii, loaded the disc, and the game worked beautifully! As of November 2016, about 80% of the game has been completed as we have to finish Team Chaotix yet. I, nor my brother have had the time to play it as we both have very busy work schedules. I hope to complete the game by the summer of 2017.

Heroes to me always felt like the game that came the closest to being great. The levels are well done and creative, the music is good, and the story, while nothing to write home about, isn't in anyway horrible. The main thing that holds it back is that the controls aren't quite up to par. Had the controls been as tight as Adventure 1 or 2 I think this would have been a great game.
