it seems that something is different in my unit in the "pattern random" mode.. i see that in your video when you enter the random mode "last step" is switched off and you use the play mode step to randomize the gate probability (or step input).. it is not the same in my unit: once you are in the pattern random mode all step are switched on and the "last step" randomize the step input probability.. it is normal? By the way, very quality and usefull demo. thanks!

Would be amazing if someone decided to make configurable glide shapes on some sequencer one day. So that you could sort of modulate the glide with an lfo. Would it actually be possible to do that with an Elektron sequencer using the midi lfo?

@@RajaSandhu well the manther has a wavefolder which is pretty damn neat. The manther is great but for some reason it doesn't inspire much. Anyway, I sold it and just ordered the bassline. Seems more versatile and fun and ballsier6

@TheRustyPeppers ha!! Indeed. I sold my manther soon after I bought the DB-01. No regrets at all. It really, really is that good. So much so that now I have a bunch of Erica's modules plus the fusion VCO 2 that I run and mix with the db-01. In your face, fat tones.

I built their little Eurorack Bassline module...it is absolutely sick (and was quite hard to build!!) *love* Erica synths stuff

No patterns, but people in other demos have been making drum-like sounds in their patterns.

Quality demo, - thanks ~ even though i really don't need anymore gear, i still don't have anything from *Erica* and this sounds extremely tempting... Must say though, those tiny round buttons don't compliment the sturdy looking knob panel, - yes i'm being superficial, but aesthetics like that can genuinely affect how one feels and approaches an instrument... but i still might buy one.... ~love to all, feel no hate~

@devontodetroit They look rock-solid too - I've not seen any Erica stuff "in the flesh" but in videos/photos it looks beautifully designed and superbly built. That said, the under-the-hood quality has to be the priority...

@@dmomcilovic9185 Don't worry, these things will sell. Besides, it's the DT version of a larger rack synth module. Go to their site. I saw it explained there. Just this baby is a bit more affordable than their other stuff, but still on the high end.

Just the fact that it has a triangle wave makes it better than a 303 imo. Avalon Bassline is still my favorite, but this is in a solid second place.

Got one - great synth but likely to sell. The lack of patch saving means that I’m noodling a lot, but not really making tracks. Lots of fun, but ends up being unproductive fun.

The synth sounds great but this review was disappointing. I don’t mind a few random blips and bleeps in a demo but it would be nice to hear at least one driving, rhythmic sequence. As the reviewer notes repeatedly, this is an aggressive sounding synth, and it says “bassline” right on the faceplate. I’d love to hear it in the hands of someone who can showcase that aggressive sound with something resembling a bass line. Maybe add a “Part two: making music with the DB-01”.
