Sonic Lost World - Full Game Playthrough 

Now that I think about it. This game isn't bad, like at all. I just wish the story had more meaning to it.

After playing Forces for the Switch and having a really mediocre experience, I went back to my attic and picked up my Wii U to fill in my boredom. Searched through my game collection and found Lost World laying there. I wanted to give the game a try again so I booted it up. And can I say I had a BLAST!!! I may be 4 years late, but this game is way better than Forces and Colors by a long shot. I loved battling Zavok in sky road and using the parkour to maneuver around the stage. Graphics were stunning as usual. The thing about this game is that it’s so underrated, and people can’t seem to understand how amazing it is because of the sonic fan base. Sure it had its flaws. But I loved how I could explore in a fast paced tone. Stereotypical villains sure, but their boss fights were all different and. I think that really benefited the gameplay. Sonic fans just didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Sega even warned them that some may not like the game and to not trash it out on them because it was for a new audience. But they didn’t listen and have the game shitty scores. All in all. This is EASILY, my 2nd favorite 3D sonic game with Generations being number one. It had its flaws but I loved it so much. 9/10.

Lost World's an interesting game. Honestly this game is polarising just like Unleashed was (infact I'd say moreso) but unlike Unleashed I feel there's more potential to work with in terms of core mechanics as the game is a lot more involving. Parkour conceptually is probably the best thing to happen to Sonic's moveset (infinitely more interesting a mechanic than the boost). In a couple of years, once Sega begins to develop the formula further, people will most likely appreciate it a lot more. I personally enjoyed Lost World more than a good number of previous 3D Sonic games, though there's still a lot of room for improvement. Just takes a different mind set imo.

I'm starting to realize that the problem with Sonic games aren't the games themselves, but the community. Sonic "fans" are always complaining about something, making it look that each and every Sonic game that comes out is the worst game ever. Seriously, lighten up.

Sonic Rule number 32: The current Sonic scapegoat will at somepoint be the Sonic underrated gem, people won't admit it, but it basically happens everytime.

Kinda sad how the “game reviewers” say this game is bad because of its Graphics and bad story telling, not to mention they do this to every sonic game in the franchise. Before we know it there gonna start making videos about “Sonic 1 was bad and HERES why” smh. This is exactly why I can’t stand the sonic community. Overall I think this and the rest of the sonic games were good in my opinion.

This is a legit GOOD game. Many people were disappointed with how different this game was after Generations got it so right. But when you decide to look past that, you have a truly fun Sonic experience. Sonic is slower, yes, but he's not SLOW. He runs at a decent speed and his handling is the best in the 3D games. All the other Sonic tropes are there, rings, badniks, color, fun! Everything that made Sonic Sonic is here. I'm not saying it's the best, and it isn't better than Generations, not even Colors, actually. But see here: Sonic Unleashed was the best game of the dark age of Sonic, not counting the portable ones. And if Unleashed was OK, and Lost World is quite clearly better, then that would make Lost World good. It's as classic Sonic as we're going to get in 3D.

Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World are my two favorite 3D Sonic games🙂

I honestly like this game’s story. Yes a lot of things go unexplained, like where the Zeti come from, how Tails and Eggman know about the Lost Hex, but I like the simplicity of this and the interactions between all the characters are really well written and interesting to watch in my opinion.

Personally. I like this game. It's colourful, the opening graphics in the first scene are beautiful. They finally gave tails a voice actor that makes him sound mature considering his character's role. The gameplay is original and quick paced at most points. I'm not a big fan of the running animation, but it's only a small detail and Amy's voice really annoys me, which again, is only a small detail. Each boss is different and original. The soundtrack is upbeat and fun. It's just overall a fun game.

Okay, so my overall review of this game. The animation in the cutscenes was always choppy. Pay attention to how fast the eyelids move. It isn't smooth at all! The cutscenes were usually cheerful and funny, but it also had dark parts that kids usually wouldn't think of hearing in a Sonic game. Tails' eyelids were always awkwardly posed too. But this stuff can pass me by. What matters is gameplay and environment. First, environment. I love how it's a natural environment that any Sonic character would willingly live in. It reminds me of the first Sonic game because it has like 4 frames looped. It makes it seem like they tried to make the characters and what they stand on stand out more. The gameplay was great. Not perfect. I love the run button, and how you control the game, but the wisps make this just worse then what i'd anticipated. Also, the Eggman pairing wasn't in any other Sonic game, just in the shows, so it's kinda cool, but pointless to the story. If you just removed Eggman from every cutscene it would still be just as good. Sega just worked too hard on that. People say that this ripped off Mario Galaxy, but they did it in a different way. Story, and gameplay are way different. Overall I think Sonic Lost World gets a rating of 7/10. That's an enjoyable rating. I highly recommend this game to every Sonic fan who isn't a bitch about what a game company does.

This game looks pretty fun, the characters are amazing!! Sonic looks a bit more rough in some parts, and they have their doubts about theirselves. I will try it later!

Anyone who complains about SLW's level design is just terrible at the game. Each stage is a complete cakewalk when you know what you're doing, which it seems a lot people don't. And am I seriously the only one who remembers this game has a third level of speed, a.k.a the spindash? You can't criticize a game for lacking something if they already have it. That's like me bashing Call of Duty for having terrible aiming but not bothering to use the quick scope option. The story isn't even that bad. Yeah, it's a very simple story but it isn't painfully bad like Sonic 06's story. But none of that even matters, we all know the main reason why people hate this game. It's different from all the other Sonic games, and fanboys always freak out when they change things.

People hate on this game, but I have it and I gotta say its probably the most underrated sonic game ever. The only things that are really lacking to me is the storyline and the boss fights can be a bit weird. Honestly though I think this game is much better than colors and just as good if not better than generations. I think the core gameplay itself is just as good as the adventure games. I think the adventure games are a bit better though because I like the storyline and voice actors a bit more. Either way though I would give this game a very solid 8.5/10

This game doesn't look half bad to me. Some interesting ideas. Mainly having 3D platforming that's easy to pick up, combined with 2D style. Plus it looks to be the closest thing for now to an answer to a Mario Galaxy HD update. Gah, I can't believe I sounded like a modern gamer then.

I absolutely love the style SEGA took for this game, the cell-shaded look is amazing. Makes me wish they'd do more games with unique art like this.

In my opinion, this is one of the best Sonic games I have ever played. This game showed several amazing things: 1. This game went or a more classic feel. While I initially felt this would be a bad idea, the game pulled this feat off with great precision. 2. This game has some interesting mechanics. While people may say 'OHH SUPA MAWEEO GAWAXY WIP OWF CUNFERMED!' what really shone out for me was Sonic's control and the level layout. Sonic's control was good and the Spin-Dash was a joy to be using. The levels were challenging, some requiring the utmost of care to stay alive. 3. HARDCORE PARKOUR! No Comment 4. A Nice Balance of speed. When it comes to Sonic's speed, a nice balance or ridiculous fast are my favourites. This game did it magnificently not have so much a rush around with boost every 55 seconds per minute. This game FELT faster (and probably is faster in most cases) than the Sonic Boom games because in those games (which obviously suck) you would be stopping every 5 minutes do some over gimmicky puzzle or boring fight. This game honestly looks pretty underrated. I've never played it before, but from the looks of it, this game seems pretty solid. And being a completionist, this game might be a relief, since it lacks the S-Ranks.

Wow, I didn't know they kept creating new sonics. I used to play the old series in sega genesis when i was a child. How nostalgic to see Sonic's world again. :P This one looks beautiful.

I can't wait until I get this game

This was a fun watch, and I can see the charm. It's got beautiful art direction, and the music is phenomenal. But the story just sucks. If you have these magical, genie-like creatures, why just give them power over technology? Why are they so easily outsmarted by Tails at the end? Couldn't they just mess with his tech? Their boss battles also look like brief cuts in platforming more than anything, for the most part. Many look too easy, and can be taken down in mere seconds. The draconic boss has a couple interesting fights, but the rest really fail to stand out. And to have Eggman as a final boss after all that kind of undermines the story. Was Eggman just acting the entire time? Why would he try to control them again if he hated them so strongly? This could have used a lot more time in development. It could have been a great game. It's not terrible, but adding poor control to this, and it seems very flawed.

I finished it! :) and I liked the ending scene! You know, sometimes theres a ending scene, where it's funny? Haha! ;)

Never played this one, but I watched this video all the way through like 2 months ago, and it's fun.

My second favourite Sonic game. Played it to death, far from perfect but the closest we've come.

So this is how walking on the edge of a flat Earth looks like. It's time for me to slap my siblings for insisting the Earth was ptedoractyl-shaped.

This has got to be the first modern Sonic game that reintroduces the concept of critters. And we see the long-held tradition of Tails' plane getting shot down.

If this wasn't the one where sonic's character was irreparably destroyed, I think it would be considered one of the greats
