Another remixed level, this time Oil Ocean Zone from Sonic 2. I really like the effect when you grab the fire shield and start running through the oil! Sonic Mania store.playstat...
I have been playing through the new Sonic Mania Plus and the excellent Encore Mode. The remix of Ocean Oil Zone is better than the original, view it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U0BlSMhLSGQ.html
Yeah but the painful part was when you literally had one sphere left and still lost. No big deal, it happens to the best of us but it's a thorn under the nail, you know?
I think that's the only reason they picked Sand Ocean over the others... Sonic 2 had a lot of great zones which could have been brought back. I like Sand Ocean, but I never thought that it was necessarily the best zone of Sonic 2. Anyway, It worked out wonderfully!
Man literally survived falls from space, entering the atmosphere and exploding a lot of other robots in his Face, do you really thought that a explosion in an ocean oíl would kill him?
I always though that destroying the robots on this level was bad because since the entire ocean was pure oil all those seals and penguins will end up getting stuck and die
Thx! Update: After actually knowing what to do, I got it on the second try and it turned from one of the worst bosses into one of the most enjoyable ones. I still died once after the boss was done because he crushed me which I think is unfair but this just goes to show that conveyance goes a long way. I didn't find the boss hard because it was that hard, I couldn't do it because I didn't know what to do. Once I knew what to do it went smoothly. Also, this is why the life and checkpoint system is stupid. It delays your tries at a boss, wastes time and pads the game out. It feels so arbitrary. I came to look up how to do this because I'm tired of retrying entire levels just to get an attempt at what I think is a boss of poor conveyance (this has been the case since Zone 5). I didn't even know you can damage the "buttons", and destroy them for easier access. If the game conveyed that better this would've been more fun. If I just go straight for the mid section, I might get some hits in but then I fall into the boss's body and get crushed, no fun. Just tell me more clearly which parts are hittable, which aren't which can be destroyed, which serve just as "jump pads", game... for real.
Wow, after another look, I noticed the smog will cause the rings to deplete but Sonic will not lose a life. It makes it easy to lose lives when robots are around as the rings deplete.
Transition idea: Sonic approaches another submarine, jumps in and the sub sinks...and surfaces in the caverns in which Sonic jumps and walks to the starting point of the next Zone.
Instead, sonic stands on a submarine, which suddenly rose up a few feet, then propelled itself to lava reef, and then crash onto the lava reef surface.
Not gonna lie I'm so happy they picked this zone, it's kind of random and interesting for them to include oil ocean over zones like Ice Cap or Casino Night or other fan favourites like that, and it's kinda cool for them to show love to zones that don't get as much love
It kinda makes sense to include levels like Oil Ocean and Metallic Madness that aren't very popular because it gives attention to those levels while also making them better. Ice Cap and Casino Night as much as I'd like to see updated versions of are already great.
The Oil Ocean remix is good. What's most noting is the Sandopolis Zone theme here when instead of getting dark and the ghosts come out, the maze will get foggy and smog will appear and the rings will deplete and it's known what will happen once the ring count reaches zero.
I really like the octopus boss but I wish the water pulled you in slower, it took more lives than I care to admit to learn that you have to constantly be jumping when you’re in the water so you don’t drown
We're in Egypt, you eejit! XD (that's a joke me and my brother used to say a lot when playing through this zone in Sonic 2, and listening to that Arabian-themed music)
This is what happens when you take the original Oil Ocean Boss, the first boss of the original Lava Reef Zone, and Dj Octavio and you throw it all in a blender
How could people die to this, the boss is easy af, idk if they patched it but anyone who has played the entire saa before won't have problem to beat this in seconds
To be honest in Act 2 of Oil Ocean, how can Sonic and Tails survive through all this polluted smoke, that sounds pretty dangerous surviving through that. Wouldn’t it have poisoned them and killed them, not to mention the captured animals too. I wouldn’t want to explore in a place like this, no way would I survive.
@@AntHazukiYep. Everyone just talked about how their games were crashing at startup, not when loading acts. So I couldn't find anything. I will try reinstalling the game, but I don't know where my saves are kept, so until I find them, I will have to wait it out.
That's a shame. If it helps, the PS4, Xb1 and Switch doesn't have the same issues. But buying another version shouldn't be the answer! Hope you find a way around it soon.
