I have been playing through the new Sonic Mania Plus and the superb Encore Mode DLC. Check out the great remixed version of Metallic Madness here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QnJ_5HbxgT0.html
Ngl, if they had a sonic game with EVERY zone but with one act and a combo in between, I'd for think its the best so far. For example Green hill + Chemical Plant = Industrial hill
I didn't care much for the CD version of this level, but the Mania version is the best Zone in the game. If you had told me a year ago that Mania would make Oil Ocean good and Metallic Madness awesome, I wouldn't believe you.
@@TurtlSoup oil ocean isn't shit, that's your opinion,I know it is somewhat inspired by sandopolis, but it's still unique in its own way. Metallic madness is a life multiplier and Titanic monarch is life eater.
I looooove how regular this video is. Just a standard run even the obvious goofs you kept in. This was perfection buddy I'm definitely subbing. Good run my guy
people say sonic is a silent protagonist in the classic games and in mania but if u listen to the lyrics in act 1 of metallic madness hes clearly spitting hot bars at eggman
Metallic Madness Zone feels a lot more like a world of mindfuckery, than a world of destruction...... The graphics are more godly and the level is more adoring than the Sonic CD counterpart :)
Poor Sonic 1. Not only did it only get one zone represented (and that being the one that's by far _over_ represented), but its final boss got demoted all the way down to _miniboss._ _Ouch._
Metallic Madness.... YOUR BACKGROUND IS EVEN MORE MAGNIFICENT THAN IT WAS IN SONIC CD AND THE MUSIC HOLY SHIT. THIS LEVEL USE TO BE KNOWN TO ME AS THE scrap brain zone 2.0 -_- BUT AFTER BEATING MANIA I TRULY GREW TO APPRECIATE THIS LEVEL. ITS NOW ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVORITES JUST FROM THE GIMMICKS, LEVEL DESIGN, MUSIC, AND DETAIL TO THE BACKGROUND. THE LEVEL JUST GIVES OFF SUCH A TERRIFYING FUTURISTIC VIBE!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
I love how they aren’t afraid to put tons of detail into not only the background, but the foreground as well! I sure am! That’s why Green Hill is the only zone I can draw.
Super Meat Boy is amazing. It's dynamic and cool stuff. I don't like Rayman series much, but i saw this game and i kinda like it. Another franchise that i miss a good game is Kirby, after Amazing Mirror i didn't like none of them.
It would be cool if they continue with another references and bring another old zones back, like hill top, quartz quadrant, spring yard , etc... Also I'd like to see some of Advance and Rush zones adapted to this mechanics. Fixed up with good design, of course.
I never would have guessed that that I would see this Zone again. Old tricks as well as some new ones. Is the Act 1 a mix of Past and Present or is my mind playing tricks on me?
Sonic 1 FInal boss at Mania has great difference instead of 4 smash hammers has 5 and has 2nd phase where is continuously active 1...2...1...2... not 1......2(Balls)
Yeah man personally i'm not like super excited for Mighty and Ray but other fans are so I'm glad for them. I'm hoping for a new zone or two, but Whitehead usually makes almost all his games worth my money haha
Does anyone have any good ideas for a transition to the next Zone because I was thinking Sonic could jump on a piston that shoots him through a couple of breakable blocks then straight up then when he appears in the next Zone he appears like in Lava Powerhouse or The Machine from Sonic Spinball and make the same sound effect too.
They look into the background to notice two eyes, which the lightning then illuminates the whole area: titanic monarch (also if you bring tails along, he gets scared by lightning, a direct callback to his meteorphobia, a.k.a, fear of lightning.)
The music really changes the mood of this level. US version feels more serious and grand. Though it's weird hearing that cause Act 1 uses the Past theme, which is present in both versions. Maybe you didn't get the generator back when you were a kid?
i know this comment is 3 years old, but let me prove this wrong, compare the buildings in act 1 to the good future of metallic madness in CD, they have striking similiarity, so this is present, just the good future is starting to be made
8:35 mark-- I don't ever go into this area (there are two areas like this) without a shield on of some sort, because I learned a time back that if you do not have a shield on, and one of these spiked platforms comes down on you, not only do you lose your rings, but you die at the same time (however, if you do have a shield, or are in your Super form, all that happens is that you die, and the effect is not as gruesome).
That's the exact reason why I wasn't satisfied by most of the Mania soundtracks. I didn't liked the direction, which composer has chosen (and Metallic Madness is a perfect example)
It's much easier if you find the Lightning Shield and keep it, because the energy balls won't hurt you, and you can concentrate on keeping out of the way of the pistons.
No you're not. I also prefer original tracks over remixes. Basically, because Metallic Madness should have serious and epic atmosphere, and a funky type of music simply doesn't fit it.
@@ImprovingMonk Big whoop, this is the internet. Everybody's a rude asshole for their own reasons. You're just mad cuz I'm blunt about this dude's gameplay.
Though Metallic Madness is not that hard, the bosses ARE. Especially the Act 1 boss, it's like Sonic 2 Death Egg but one-hit deaths are now getting crushed plus an additional NOHDUYHR laser balls. But thanks to the drop dash and spin dash, it makes it quite easier. The Act 1 boss has a super hard time limit that is within 1 minute. You musn't miss a hit, in both phases. If you want to know what NOHDUYHR means, it means "not one-hit death unless you have rings."
