Sonic Mania's Mobile Port Is... 

I think it's really cool that they added Sonic Mania to mobile because people that don't have the game can now play it on their phone if they pay for Netflix. I also think it's cool to play on the go if you're bored and don't have anything else to do on your phone.

This port was made by a division of sumo digital, the developers of the sonic racing games. And some developer messages in the game's code shows the guys didn't have any idea what they were doing...

It has some flaws, but I won’t come out rude as such. But the game is good, but it may have some differences with performance. But I still love the decomp, and also on the Switch of this game!

I’ve been playing it myself and honestly it’s not bad in my opinion. I’d say the changes made are necessary, like the menus. The Switch had touch controls in the menus and it didn’t felt great to move it. The controls are perfect, it ran mostly smooth. Sometimes it slows down, which is what somewhat annoys me, but not by much. I’ve got all the Chaos Emeralds in all saves in Mania Mode, not a single loss in a play through to get those, get those from Green Hill Zone to Chemical Plant Zone. Close calls though. So yee, while I don’t think it’s bad, I do think it should’ve been in the App Store, and there needs to be some improvements and fixing like the frame drops.

i have no problems with the port. i have it on my android phone and my ipad. the android version for me has absolutely no issues, but on the ipad it kinda iffy. the audio isnt that synchronized and sometimes choppy. also the controls are very small on the ipad. i really dont understand what peoples problems are with the port, its completley fine.

I don't see any major issues with this mobile port, besides being locked behind a Netflix subscription. Touch controls aren't ideal for games like this, but controller support still offers a way to sidestep them. I'd still rather play it on the Switch but this doesn't look bad by any means.

Nope, i have an old oppo phone (color os 5 i think) and yet, no issues at all. No lag or anything, though the first testing release was apparently really bad, and for me didn't work and just crashed or showed a black screen, seems they fixed everything Also, tails hit the death egg robot

when I played this version it was lagging like crazy and the controls don't really look good I think they should of made christian whitehead make this port cuz he was the one who made sonic mania maybe he might do better, and it has some sound problems in this port I'm so confused why they didn't made christian whitehead make this bro -_-

Game on netflix?

I was really psyched about this, my daughter *loves* this game (as do I), so now she can finally play it on her tab instead of constantly asking to use my PC or Xbox and taking over the TV. She's already used to the touch controls because she started with Sonic 2 on Android when she was 3, so she's been rocking it for the last few days. I played it myself with no problems; we just happen to be in a really, really bad era for gaming, both for companies and fans, and complaining and being dissatisfied has become the default. It's a perfectly fine port. For the record I play on a Galaxy S23 Ultra and she played on a Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and it's been fine on both. Edit: and the boss died because Tails hit it the final time homie.

i currently own an iphone xr which is so old by now and it can run sonic mania perfectly. i really do not have any issues with this port. sonic mania on ipad has really small joysticks but it doesnt matter because i barely use my ipad. (also the death egg robot doesnt have hitboxes for its legs so you can just camp down there!!**)

the netflix version i swear isn't the worst we all know the epic version is worse.

People are acting like they ruined Sonic Mania, but like just no. It’s just regular Sonic Mania, on mobile. Sure there are some small things that could be tweaked, mainly UI improvements. But it’s a little really good way to experience the game now, despite being locked behind Netflix.

The port isn’t bad for me, the menu is meh…the controls are bad but apart from that it’s kinda fine for me but gosh its not like the decomp is really perfect either, when you start green hill zone act 1 there’s a literal wall shown behind it cuz they didn’t fix the camera.
