A showcase of the final build of The Misfits Pack before the project was put on hold in late 2022. The last overall work committed to the repository on any piece of the actual project was August 9th, 2022.
The Act 1 to Act 2 transition was consistently crashing for some reason, so I just used the dev menu to bypass it since the Act works fine otherwise.
It seems like not a lot of love was shown to the CD zones from the time in-between the last public demo and now overall, which is unfortunate considering how good Mania's Stardust Speedway is. Act 1's design feels strange, like this melting pot of ideas that feel vaguely like Wacky Workbench but don't amount to much, and it's weirdly cramped. It seems like the layout hasn't changed much since the 2020 demo, though. At this point it definitely feels as though the Green Hill Act 1 philosophy is being universally applied across all of the mod's first acts, which I feel is a misunderstanding of how Mania's first acts function. They're meant to be less crazy remixings of the zone compared to the second act, but still stand on their own rather than being less fun introductions to the zone and some of the gimmicks. I'm not sure if Act 2 is any different from the 2020 demo, but it's alright. It still feels a bit too cramped for my liking and it has a strange flow overall. You can end up bounced around a lot but not in a way that's very fun. I really hope that the CD zones can see the attention they deserve later down the line, because they have creative and fun foundations to work from in my opinion.
