The green hill area actually uses parts from generations in this deleted scene, also this man-hog sonic looks like the march 2019 render that was leaked
@@MicklePickle ive heard that his design was changed multiple times before the manhog we seen in the trailer was the one they were "satisfied" with. I know they have a more finished version out there, but im guess they're just showing how they made it during production
I liked the original opening, but the final version is what I prefer. 1) Longclaw's fate was left ambiguous 2) Sonic was alone since he was a baby, so it really helped the whole "I'm lonely" story-arc 3) The more faster pace is a bit more fitting for a character like Sonic
I really would’ve liked to have seen more of Longclaw raising Sonic and teaching him to use his powers. Although her dying of old age might’ve been too melancholic and sad for the final film. On the plus side, since her fate in the final version was left up in the air she could still come back. Maybe she was even the one who sent Tails to look for him in the sequel?
I would've preferred if they kept it. It would make more sense why Sonic feels so lonely. I always thought it was kinda random when he got sad in the baseball scene
Sonic’s cave doesn’t have electricity so he used batteries to power up his radio. Makes sense why Crazy Karl used batteries as bait (he figured something out about Sonic maybe)
The Crazy Carl scenes were probably taken out because they put too much emphasis on him setting up traps and talking about Sonic as if it was going to lead up to something but it never does. Carl only showed up near the end as a gag and the whole alien conspiracy thing never went anywhere.
I thought he was stealing batteries for his electronics. Like his stereo. Scenes that might have been fine keeping in were crazy Carl, bc you get a bit more insight of Tom's relationship to the townspeople, and Tom and Sonic have a chat without the parts that would have made it redundant. I like that they kept the fate of Longclaw ambiguous in the final cut. That baby Sonic was whack XD And also, it made Sonic's breakdown over his isolation more impactful.
There should've been some scenes kept in the movie what I'm gonna list below - Long Claw staying with Sonic. - Tom and Sonic talking which ties to the final battle between him and eggman - Also another deleted scene I wished they kept is crazy Carl and tom conversation about tom leaving which ties in with Sonic being upset with Tom
it could still come off as PG if they kept that scene in. if shadow the hedgehog can get away with e for everyone 10 and up with damn, hell, and maybe ass in the game, anything can happen.
If there's a scene I would keep in it would be "Super Observant Carl". In the movie we were told that the Green Hills folk appreciate and need Tom's service but it was never really shown to us, just kind of implied. I also like the extra details on Tom's mundane everyday tasks and a mention of Tom's father. I noticed the movie likes to give background info about the characters and their past, I love that.
Fun fact: The parts of the deleted scenes that look unfinished were actually animated by Video Brinquedo, who were Paramount’s first choice for the CG animation. However they ran out of money one 64th of the way through production, and declared bankruptcy for the third time.
@@rommix0 It's a joke because they produce really bad mockbusters (straight to dvd movies with low budgets made to bank off the success of a blockbuster)
18:23 I think that was when Sonic parked the car terribly when Maddie, Tom and Sonic were going to the tall building to get his rings back. After Sonic vanished Eggman.
The battery.... Come on . Forgotten the trailer?.... Its for the. " radio. " Thats how the "Queen " song utilize. And if only it fly.... "flying Battery Zone"
Even if they're short, can you react to the bloopers I also wished they included the scene where agent Stone tries to warn Robotnik to not chase after sonic. Stones actor told us about it in a twitch livestream but still great deleted scenes
There are actually a lot of good scenes they should have actually kept in here. Also I didn't expect that conversation between the black woman and Wade, that was hilarious.
I liked the final cut, in how Tom just quits asking about all the weird stuff for his own sanity, after ring portals and mushroom planets are mentioned. Great job done. And the cut scenes were the ones that cut the pacing of the movie, I agree with that too.
I'm very curious to see the whole movie with the beta design. I really wanna see it now. 😂 Maybe I'll still have the opinion from last time or I'll actually hate it.
I'd like to see more of Longclaw in the likely sequel. The fact that this deleted scene actually shows her dying, but in the final movie leaves her fate up to the viewer, she's probably not dead.
I have a theory, After long claw sent Sonic away to earth she survived the Echidna Tribe attack and sent Tails to find Sonic. How else would Tails have a Warp Ring on him.
funny how people wanted the old design of sonic to be changed and then they want to see deleted scenes with the old design XD aaand oh god im glad they deleted the idea of sonic being barefoot at the beginning lmao
People do know that Knuckles isn’t the only one who said that, right? Sonic literally says the same thing if you hit him as Knuckles, with the exact same amount of enthusiasm.
Now I wish they had some of the scenes used in the film to be extended like in the deleted scenes because then it would make the story a bit more interesting or something
The scenes with Longclaw could have justified her reason for being in the film because in the final release she was a throw away character almost having no screen time at all
This conversation is actually included in the movie novelization book, but it happened at the Transamerica building, I like what Tom said in the book “emotions are powerful things, Sonic. People struggle with them all the time. but you don’t have to struggle alone. you don’t have to bottle it all up” and Sonic replies “.. you don’t know what it’s like when I let that chaos out of me” ... the book even has the bar scene with Carl
The last scene was probably the post credits from the old design movie. But was replaced at the end with tails, since after the re-design, and people actually do liked it, decided to put tails for a possible sequel
I have to wait till May to watch it again, because no one has it available for rent! I've already paid for the 4k UHD blue ray which also comes with a digital copy, so it seems kinda redundant to buy the digital copy twice. Argh! Why can't I just rent it!
I think that they left out scenes that would’ve made the movie better. I initially thought that the whatever the heck the whole conflict between sonic and Tom was a bit... off. And the resolution seemed unearned, but the deleted scene at the house could work if tweaked a bit.
to be fair one of the reasons they cut sonic and tom's talk scene sonic said there might of been some crying and after that one Archie comic incident with ken penders, Sega didn't want any mention of sonic getting emotional aka crying or even feeling love. pls correct me if i am wrong but that is what i remember also because of ken penders i don't know if they will add amy in the 3rd movie unless they make her have a tomboyish or "i don't need no man to save me!" personality but if she isn't in the 3rd one then thank ken penders
0:09 You say it released digitally *worldwide* , but for some reason, it's not available anywhere in my country. I can't even find any information about when it's supposed to release. Can someone please explain what's going on??
Part of me wishes they kept the Longclaw scene, mostly because gave us a bit of a stronger connection with the character and made her departure feel stronger as you said. But, I am glad that we did get the final cut because it does leave more room open for some more development in a possible sequel. Tails could have found out about Sonic from her and possibly she could even make an appearance again. I dunno, I’m mixed on it, because I’m happy with the final cut but if we got more time with the character in Sonic’s world before he had to leave, I think I probably would have been even more satisfied
Your not the only one who thought that was Tim Miller at the bar scene? Still, I wish there was no deleted scene. The alternate opening was great, but when I heard of the alternate ending? NAH!! I like the official ending.
Some of the scenes in the cut would have really pushed the move from a 6.5 to a 7 for a lot of people. Just world building in the town would've put so much more depth. But that's all I would want added. oh well.
