Couldn't Sonic or Knuckles just get a bubble shield and go under water to get it back? Ok now that I know what happened with Angel Island, maybe after Knuckles gets the shovel claw, he could dig it back up. Oh so no Metal Sonic that bites.
I really like the way knuckles is written in this he feels incredibly in character and I felt bad when he started apologizing to sonic and tails great stuff!
In my defense, I made this before that was confirmed. Before Sonic Origins it was unclear what the order was, and with Sonic CD being promoted with Sonic 4 I assumed it took place after Sonic 3.
