OK since people enjoy hearing my thoughts on this game, here goes for this Update! - First off, let me start with saying this game's presentation is phenomenal, it reminds me of all the reasons why I love Sonic so much! This is the environment Sonic should have, it's great. Cutscenes are top natch for a fangame as always. :p Onto gameplay features - THANK YOU for improving the light dash!! It's so noticeable. Physics seemed to be altered, I couldn't quite pin it down but it feels better. I think there's less time where you will go flying from boosting off the ground, also I'm pretty sure the height of the jump has been increased. It felt abit better overall. Yes, I LOVE the flying sections - my earliest subscribers know I used to upload star wars videos (specifically rogue squardron in this case), so this was definitely for me. I finally get to show off my rogue leader skills haha. I do have a few critiques though, the wind is a problem. It either needs to be tweaked or have more indication of the direction you're being blown. Some flight games have this by having one wing rotate a little depending on the direction. Another thing is the sand worm arena boss fight. There needs to either be animations for it leaving the ground, a radar, or at a button to look behind. I think having animations in this case would be enough. Music is awesome, It's all original/remixed! That combined with the new layout changes made it really enjoyable to replay the episodes. Bosses - Yesss, it was like 500% times better than last time. It's more fair and you can actually read their attacks. Plus it doesn't require so many hits. Overall much better designed. I think that's about it. I loved this. I can't wait to play more of this. I'll most likely have a red ring playthrough where we explore the levels more tomorrow. Thanks for watching! :D
The creator of this game seems to draw inspiration from even sonic x with how the chaos emeralds interact when being next to each other, the guy who made this must be a lore master when it came to putting this together
Facts! I can't even begin to list off how many returning lore element dispersed across Sonic stories returns and connects here. It's honestly jaw dropping! One of my favorite examples though, is how G.U.N., who were completely ABSENT in Unleashed, made an arrangement with Sonic about how they would protect the Gaia Temples in the future. Which helps to correct that mistake. We also have: references Sonic wearing Chips bracelet as a momento, references to the chao gardens (as well as seeing Chao fly around casually in certain cutscenes, which helps the world feel more alive), Amy calling Sonic in the middle of a level to remind him about their picnic plans(despite not being in the game, which helps us remember that these characters do still exist and are still in close contact), Shadow and Rouge acting as G.U.N agents, a prototype/destroyed remains of the Egg Dragoon, the Hyper Tornado plane from Sonic X, Sonic taking a picture with adult Chris Dornthike (who's apparently become a GUN agent, in an attempt to help protect the planet), Shadow removing his inhibitor rings (as well as almost every Chaos power he's ever had in his arsenal), etc.

Well, that’s not the only detail that brought from Sonic X, if you pay attention to Sonic when he looks to “the camera” he has 3 quills slightly up and to one side just like in Sonic X
Dang, Tails and Sonic are now truly faithful to how they look and act (long, moving, dark blue quills, strong green eyes, kind, cocky and serious at times for Sonic, while Tails keeps the blue eyes, soft moving fur, calm demeanor and still determined).
Am I the only one appreciating the Jason Griffith impression? The dude voice acting nailed it. Never been a fan of Roger, so this was a breath of fresh air. Though the Shadow voice is very weird.
I think that Roger Craig Smith's voice is more fitting for the more light-hearted Sonic games like Sonic Colors and Team Sonic Racing whereas Jason Griffith's voice is more fitting for the more serious Sonic games like Sonic Unleashed.

I'm only just getting into Sonic, but Sonic Omens, a fan game, really made me appreciate and feel Sonic and Tails brotherly relationship. From when Sonic and Tails are flying together in the sky, Sonic can fall and enjoy the wind in his quills because he knows Tails will catch him. And when Sonic got the chaos emerald and landed on the Tornado, he and Tails communicate without saying a word. It's beautiful, really.
Do you think that sonic frontiers will be able to cover up the sonic Forces mess for me I am trying not to have high expectations for it even if it's an open world game which is a first

These guy are the only ones to ever acknowledge Chip's bracelet. When finishing Unleashed, I thought they were laying the groundwork for some kind of new ability or move
This is one of the moments where I'm proud of the sonic fandom. Glad to see the references especially chips bracelet being used. The graphics and gameplay are really stunning. The infinity engine got reworked for the game which is pretty good. Can not wait for more.
Animations in the cutscenes feel a lot more natural than the official games. They move their eyes a lot more, the scenes are way more cinematic and the movement is very cartoony, fitting for the characters.
@@tommurchuis5464 motion capture can be good at times but only if you use it correctly. I belive it may be hard to make it look natural on cartoon characters such as Sonic and crew
@@brinst_ar sonic is a VERY stylized character, with big hands and huge eyes, motion capture doesn't work very well with Sonic's design, if the hands were smaller and also the eyes, maybe motion capture would work better (and the animators would have a better time animating this)
Not to mention we fans have better ideas than Sega does. Because I’ve been having ideas myself like a mini tv series, or shorts, starring the Sonic girls.

this is outstanding it's like a merger of sonic unleashed boost mechanic, sonic adventure mode style, the voice acting is off the charts it's like a merger of Ryan drumming, and Jason personality, visuals are outstanding this deserves to be number 1 fan game of the year.
Dude, you can tell that so much love, time and effort was put into this. It's truly amazing what dedicated fans with limited budgets can accomplish. This is how a Sonic game SHOULD be; non-stop fast paced action with a story that has you hooked... Well, it has ME hooked X,D

Chip's bracelets is a nice addition, it fuses the forces avatar grappling hook and boom laser thing. Kinda sweet because this story sets after Sonic Unleashed when chip and sonic defeated dark gaia, then chip gave that as a memento.
I feel like anything after Unleashed isn't canon to this game's timeline, with the exception of there being other Mobians besides Sonic and his friends living amongst Humans on Earth. Like what Yuji Naka had intended before he left rather than the concept of having Sonic travel between separate worlds, because Takeshi Iizuka decided to make a pointless series of retcons, which was only good for Sonic X and not the games if you think about it.

the graphics look so clean and the voice acting makes it seem like its an actual sonic game EDIT: after hearing sonic say Chip I assume that is somewhat a fanmade sequel to sonic unleashed
Other than the voice acting, this is an excellent fangame! The boss fight against the Egg Dragoon E-Zero is especially a highlight - the concept of fighting a worn down, almost zombie-like version of one of Eggman's most powerful mech is simply awesome and well-executed.
Personally I thought it was an old prototype, and doesn't anyone get the feeling that Eggman wanted Sonic to find him for once? Usually it is the other way around.
Feel like the Sonic voice actor is trying a little too hard to imitate Jason Griffith's performance. I'm sure he could be better if he tried doing a little more his own take, with maybe a hint of Griffith in there. And Tails sounds a little more feminine than Palant's performance. I'm sure it'll improve if this project continues to its completion.

This game feels vaster than most recent sonic games in only a few minutes. I completely lost my breath when I saw angle Island in the destance, almost forgot It even existed
this game alone could revive the franchise. perfect balance of fast and slow /adventure movement. easily the best game we've seen since sonic adventure 2. Beats Sonic '06 by a a long shot. if i was sega, i'd hire your entire team and make you all lead directors from here on out.
Sonic Frontiers actually reminded me of this Fan game especially in the first section and am really excited for what comes from this fangame and Sonic Frontiers
Even the name Sonic Frontiers seems like they are using this game as a guide. Just like with Mania, I hope Sonic Team hired these Omens guys to help build Frontiers because this is better than Forces, Boom, Lost World

They're frankly getting better than sonic team's stuff. Within a decade, I feel like the fandom is going to be putting out free 10/10 feature-length games while sonic team is figuring out what horrible tumor they are going to implement to the formula in their next games. Sad really. Also look into sonic gt. It's an evolution on the sonic adventure formula and I feel should be the blueprint to new mainline sonic games.
Yes very much! I use to play star wars games all the time so it's to be expected I guess xD. The wind needs indication though perhaps have one wing rotate based on the direction of the wind or something.
@@sonicovertime Personally I didn't like them that much, mainly because of the weird controls (plus me being used to inverted axes when it comes to ascending/descending) and just the lack of rebindable controls.
The common consensus seems to be "anything that could be a sonic level should be", the time taken up to make this entire plane section could be used on tightening the levels, bosses, and tech issues for Sonic play. Or more simply put, "BORING ANNOYING AND TOO LONG"
I personally think that this is what sonic unleashed tornado sections should have been like. It's a MILLION times better. It's only a minor thing, but I think it might feel even better if you were able to lock on and then release to hit all the enemies at once like in SA2.
Abosolutely love shadow’s voice. It reminds me of Meta Knight’s Accent voice actor from Kirby right back at Ya! Greatest form of Sonic love I haven’t seen in a long time.

Whoever played Sonic does a really great Jason Griffith impression! However Tails voice actor is a bit “too female” he should sound more masculine. Other than that this is one of the best fan made Sonic games I’ve seen in a long time!

Growing up a Sonic fan being born in 88, I appreciate the creators of this fan game. The physics of this fan game is a master piece and the current storyline has consistently. I am really drawn to that storyline especially when the creator or creators input the best Shadow The Hedgehog character design I have ever witness. Combined the move set of Shadow 06 with Shadow of forces. Amazing idea. Keep up the great work guys.
This looks pretty good! I would suggest adding in a spin dash and a drop dash, to spice it up a bit. As for the boost, I think it should be more of an occasional, special power up type of thing in favor of the spin dash to attack enemies with. Those are just my critiques, but this still looks pretty great 👍

Thank god... I've been watching Sonic fan projects for a while, and I feel like an unappreciated detail that ties Sonic's homing attack together is the highlight from the closest enemy. You'd be surprised at how many fan projects lack this (maybe trying to stick to the earlier 3d games' style) but without playing this looks like the most satisfying 3d fan project to attack in yet! Excited for more!
This game almost made me cry. It's a true masterpiece. This game just shows the boost can still be good. The levels are amazing, The presentation is just outstanding and don't get me started with music. It's just amazing. Sega should be taking notes from this. Not hating on Sega btw. I just think their passion and ambition has been lacking this past decade.
I'd say they still have some degree of passion but it's put on the wrong place as they more or less treated Sonic in the 2010s as an arcade platformer rather than this more serious-tone action adventure platformer in the 2000s.

This is everything I've ever dreamed about and so much more. For a Sonic game, this is TRULY amazing. I can't believe this is a fan project. That is just... wow. Sonic Team needs to hire you guys. For real!!!! This is astounding. Absolutely phenomenal.
This game is made by a Russian indie team which is probably why most of the voice acting sounds a bit Slavic. Personally I'm not a big fan of Tail's and Shadow's but they still did a good job for the most part.
When you see projects like this, you understand that the people behind this understand why Sonic has fans. They understand why people love this franchise. Unfortunately, Sega doesn't understand. And the new game will confirm this once again.
@@sonicbhoc Knowing how Sega has folded for corporate money making, Sonic Frontiers will be bad. Sega has completely lost sight of what their fanbase wants in a Sonic game, and has settled for the corporate status quo of "just sell copies to make money, don't worry about game quality" And since Sonic 06 DX, that has essentially cost them their fanbase. Unleashed was a quality game, but that was it. Black Knight wasn't even that good tbh, and it's been a hot minute since I've the chance to replay a sonic game tbh. THIS fangame is what Sega should use to regain their Sonic spirit and recapture the magic that enraptured Sonic fans as kids back in the days of SA/SA2.
Keep in mind Sega usually works with Nintendo, not pc only. They have to downgrade the game so everyone can play. Not everyone can afford a $3000 computer to play these without issues
I’m gonna say it. This is what I want in a 3D Sonic game. It’s the perfect blend of both Adventure and Boost gameplay, with a deeper story and multiple characters that aren’t too distinct from each other. All you need to do is improve the voice acting (except Tails, he’s fine as is) and it would be perfect.
The music in this game sounds and feels so good! It feels as if Sonic got resurrected. It's like Sonic's back well and healthy. This is amazing. This fan game is perfect.

So..ive been studying the cutscene animation of this game and even when they arent using any heavy cartoony animation elements, they still managed to balance that out with expressive and amazing looking animation without those cartoon elements Which is amazing, i so admire the cutscenes and the music playing above the things that are happening left and right, easily my favorite parts from the game

Things I absolutely love about Omens: -Multiple characters are involved and playable in the story instead of just Sonic, just like the old days with SA, SA2 and Heroes -Characters were done so much better than official games, especially Tails. He was handled perfectly, you can tell even though he couldn't fight enemies like Sonic he still provides major help for him, this is supposed to be how he's like canonically, also love that the fact that Tails keeps his Tornado. -Stage designs have variety, and thanks for not including 2D sections, you can play it so smoothly just like how Sonic is supposed to run through them, and at the same time provide challenges. -Story is written amazingly, they make use of the continuity from older games and those cutscenes are packed with actions as well. -Sonic has moves derived from old games (like bouncing in SA2) and new moves at the same time, you can tell the gameplay combined both Adventure and Boost style, this is exactly the sweet spot in my opinion. -Music is so damn good. Of course as a Sonic long time fan I knew Sonic games have always got great music, yet this soundtrack is able to capture Sonic's spirit and I gotta say, it's comparable to even official ones.

Dude, *all* the voice acting in this is horrible. Sonic is probably the best out of them, and even then he just ranges from "alright" to "dime store Griffith knock off" Where did Vector appear though? Was he during Shadow's playthrough, because I skimmed through most of it because I hated Shadow's voice that much >_
This is really not that bad at all! This is really good! I really love how dedicated the fans are. Not only that but I can tell Sonic's voice actor was inspired by Jason.
I like the Sonic X music at the beginning since I recognize that music anywhere actually come to think of it there are elements of Sonic X in this game look at the tornado’s design for example.
This is the closest to what I imagined SA3 would be, love to see a full game with the whole playable cast and everything, maybe even a Chao Garden again :D Shadow Gameplay looks AMAZING aswell... awesome fan game will check it out
Sweet jebus! This game has potential right here. For starters is one of the best animated 3D indie games based on Sonic, at least in terms of cutscenes. It's very cinematic, Sonic sounds perfectly how he would in Sonic X, Tails' voice is probably the best it's been in years, and there's even some nice references like with Sonic's grappling hook from Sonic Boom (Arguably one of the better concepts in that game) and even the intro to Sonic Mania! The interface could be a bit more stylish and some of the effects don't seem to be implemented, but I definitely have to commend the work currently put in. I love the dialogue too. The audio effects are perfect where they're used, and the banter is just what you'd expect from a Sonic game. And poor Sonic; I'm sure Sonic wishes it was the Boom version of Amy. As for the gameplay? Wow, what do you mean it wasn't made on the Hedgehog Engine? This seems like a near perfect implemation of Sonic Unleashed style gameplay! Even the flying stages are good and the level design is a lot of fun. Wow, they even got White Jungle in here! This is definitely looking better than Sonic Forces. Guys, please keep up the good work. Hell, maybe Sega could have you release the finished game on consoles like they did with Mania. Still, the fact that they're trying to crowdfund it is honestly kinda weird. There are some issues aside from that, obviously it's not a full release yet. But who knows what will happen; maybe Sega really will partner with this guy in the future, maybe not? We'll find out later, I'm sure.
Words can't describe how much this game kicks ass i'm excited to see it till the end and i hope sega's management and portraial of sonic and sonic games will be as good
Okay, how was this done so well, and how in the world is Sonic Team missing every mark this game seems to absolutely nail! The graphics, physics, lighting, THE BUTTERY SMOOTH MOVEMENT!!! The music is absolutely banger (a word I have never said, nor would I ever believe I'd use the term to describe a Sonic soundtrack)... That White Jungle remix had me smiling ear to ear! The cut scenes are also great, and even though some of the accents are thicker than others, this team did such an amazing job for English being at least their 2nd language. I like the story so far, and the subtle references had me smiling every time (especially the "landing gear" one). Very happy that it wasn't just Sonic, but the others were done right, instead of awkward inclusions. Though Tails on foot was my favorite in Sonic Adventure... though I'm not asking for any more miracles from you guys- this game is a miracle all on its own! This is a fan game? It looks amazing especially the cutscenes. It looks like a movie. This feels like what the modern sonic games don't have the guts to do. Not to mention it looks like it's made with love for the series
they should hire fans for a next game like for real, make a team of fans and let them do what they want, Fans have more love for the series than sega itself.

It _looks_ nice, but gameplay wise it's all over the place, with the lowest points being the 2 back-to-back flying sections that are just not fun to play coupled with finicky hitboxes
@@lucylu3342 It is just my humble opinion. It's okay if you are enjoying the current quality of Sonic games. And my criticism was not about the graphics, but how a small group of fans managed to come up with such a concise, eye-catching introduction that respects the history of the franchise - something Sonic Team has not been able to do for years.
What an incredible improvement everything looks more refined and precise and the cinematics are gorgeous. There are still places that could use a little bit more polish but compared to previous builds this is fantastic.
