Sonic Origins - Launch Base Zone Act 1 (Sonic 3 Remix)

Its the Prototype Launch Base Zone Act 1 redone with mainly the instruments in the original track in Sonic 3. 2nd loop is arranged differently, with a Sonic 3 styled Act 2 version included. A bit of Wing Fortress is in there for good measure too.

i liked the orgins version of this song a lot also kinda felt the carnival night wasn't as bad as people say but ice cap sucks there considering the original

@@dr.reggman The Origins tracks of S3&K aren’t TERRIBLE per say, but I was disappointed with how they sounded on the Nintendo Switch (being an owner of one myself). To me, they sound completely muffled and not crisp enough. Had Jun Senoue used the tracks from the November 1993 prototype of Sonic 3 and remastered them, I think that would’ve ended up much better. All in all, I’m just happy that I can finally play S3&K once again. It IS my favorite video game of all time.

I think the main issue with the prototype tracks is is severely lacking strong chords, excluding the intro; whereas the MJ tracks are almost nothing but strong chords, which makes for considerably better chord progression.

Everything Sonic 3&K was run through a low-pass filter. They used the 1990s PC version as a base instead of just using the Genesis prototype.

The only one that's truly shit in origins is carnival night omg it's so ass ,launch base is bearable and ice cap is decent

FYI to those unaware, this is the original Launch Base music before Michael Jackson got involved. You can hear them in the PC port of the game too, as well as late prototypes of the game. It doesn't sound as good because it wasn't given time to be polished like the rest of the tracks that weren't replaced, and Sega is becoming so greedy that they certainly wouldn't ask Jun Senoue to touch them up for Origins.

About 35 seconds in I really started hoping there would be a loop without the "GO" sample. The copyright issues with this game's music just strike me as yet another example of how much Sega sucked at forward planning: they've effectively lost some of the rights to their own work thanks to their collaboration :P
