Thank you, Evan, for being an amazing narrator with a wonderful sense of humour. And thanks to the crew who made this entire series for Sonic Origins. This series was so satisfying to watch. It was an incredible journey to watch all of the episodes.
Agreed. Now I know Evan was the real narrator in the series because of his name at the end. Thanks for letting us know in the previous episodes of the series.
I've seen you everywhere in this series. Not only you, but Sam Procrastinates, Henleash, and NatTheChao were there too. I'm surprised to see RU-vidrs were here watching this series. Yeah, it's sad that this series has come to an end. Wish the series should continue.
They asked viewers of the last livestream who they thought the special guest of this episode would be and I half-jokingly wrote Aaron Webber. I'm happy I was partially right.
@@supersonicwarrior2614 He still works for them. He works at SEGA Japan and has a pretty important role as director of studio and community relations. It sucks that we can't see him much anymore, but he's all grown up now. 🥲
Damn, I always thought these guides were useless, being very obvious stuff that I already knew (despite watching because of the great presentation), but I didn't even think of the usefulness of these guides for players who are unfamiliar to the classic games, this really changed my mind about these guides
NO WAY he just made a Reggie reference at the end. That was pure perfection. I’ll REALLY miss this series, but it was a fun ride-er, run while it lasted.
@@GamingTopTen I would be inclined to agree, but it's pretty much word-for-word to the original, save a couple obvious differences. The Original: "Okay, that's all the time I've got. I gotta get back to playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my Nintendo 3DS. Current: "Oh! Well, I guess that's all the time I've got. I've got to get back to playing Sonic Origins on my current-generation console. I mean, there aren't too many notable differences besides the game and console, obviously. And, this series has had plenty of other references to memes in various contexts. (And they're not exclusive to Sonic memes since they made a "This is fine" reference in the Sonic 3 and Knuckles Speed Strats video.) I'm just saying, considering what they've referenced previously in the Speed Strats videos, I would not be surprised if that was an intentional reference to Reggie.
Wow, I learned some new tricks! Jumping at 10 O’clock - 7 O’clock for maximum momentum in loops was useful as I didn’t really use any particular timing before. Also tapping spin dash 6 times for Max speed was neat information. Thanks for the fun and really well edited speed strats. Hopefully, Frontiers will have something as creative and as fun as this series was.
Man I’ve loved every single sonic origins speedstrats episode as Evan made them so funny and inter to watch if this was the last speedstrat for origins then Evans done a fantastic job
Can you guys patch this?: - Option to deactivate blur - Give us a level select for crying out loud! Why do we still have to use a debug mode code... - Muffled audio samples in 3&K - Voices missing in CD - Knuckles Chaotix music in museum - Tails jumping non-stop in 2 - Real classic mode without spindash in Sonic 1 for example and using the original ROMs to allow us to speedrun - Ability to skip videos - The many new collision glitches
- Yes - I wouldn't mind this, but since you can select individual levels in time attack, I doubt they will. - Yes - It feels like they went out of their way to remove that. Why? I don't know. - Elaborate? I thought the music was already there. - YES! It's not just non-stop jumping, but the fact that he doesn't respawn because the AI is trying to make it back to you. PUT HIM OUT OF HIS MISERY SO HE CAN COME BACK!! - I'm surprised this wasn't the case since the option is there in debug mode. - Yes, especially if you've seen them already. - But those are all Robotnik's nefarious traps that are meant to make you reset. It says so on the Sonic 3 manual.
+ prototipe tracks remastered. + All options avaliable without codes + Tails jumping with Sonic (not after him) on Sonic 2 special stages. + More visual filters.
@@theoverseer1775 Even Alex Yard Zone says its pronounced as if its a speed related name as in a play on velocity. It makes no sense to have city and zone next to each other. Plus, it's sega's own dumb fault they spelled the name as one word and not two which implies its hydros-ity not Hydro City
Forgot to mention the biggest skip in the game! Pause after jumping into the first Super Ring in Mushroom Hill Act 1 as the screen starts to flash, then select Restart, and you'll skip over almost the entire S&K half of the game and end up in Hidden Palace.
Yeah yeah yeah you literally say it many times around any Sonic content, kiddo. Catching attention by writing same comments. We smart brains know what you've been up to. -_-
Sonic absorbing argik is to funny! I love how you guys are getting better and better at this!!! Edit: Evan has earned my respect by pronouncing Hydrocity the correct way
Now i can definitely commit (insert dream music here) Also for the longest time i didnt know about the spindash thing in death egg and the boss is harder when you don't only see 2 attacks ._. Also its MECHA SONIC i always thought it was silver sonic :(
Interesting things I already knew… if there’s ever gonna have an update, can we have the opportunity to use the beta music for S3K instead of the recomposed tracks ? And also getting the New blue sphere results as the Super Sonic theme too
Sega really took speedrunning to heart for the development of Origins, what with how undercooked and rushed it is. Should've given Headcannon more time.
Welp, this was a fun ride it definitely keep me looking forward to the next episode everytime Now let's just hope the future patches fixes every single issue with this game because honestly I enjoyed it and had a blast, I just wish I could kept enjoying it if it wasn't for those glitches :/
Thank you Evan, these videos were something really special and made these classic games I've played so many times suddenly seem new and exciting again!
Ah, the Loop speedup, I learned that trick by Going through Metal Sonic's race Again and again, you can get those boosts of speed with the downward slopes too, I only did it on loops after I learned it there You can also do that at the start of Chemical plant with the twisty beginning part
I heard Hydro City. Instantly dubious of the validity 😋 No, but really, I'm here because I saw Argick. Enjoyable that these are acknowledged not as cheats but as fun extras to find in the game.
This short series has been really fun while it lasted, and it was amazing to see personal insight from the devs as to how best to enjoy the collection. Great work to all of you involved in this series! ^^
Keep in mind, there are glitches you can exploit to get extra speed + skip most of the level. This is clearly meant for speedrunners since most of the less fatal bugs remain intact. This includes the out of bounds glitch.
Gotta be honest, this was incredibly informative and a lot of this I had no idea about. All it needed was a cameo from Arin Hanson and this series would've been 200% golden.
Thank you Evan for being a great narrator and to everyone who created this Speed Strats series. It was amazing to live this journey of these 4 classic Sonic games.
even if the game's kind of broken and messy, these videos just show that the team still cares for the game, the animators used their love for the cutscenes, and the narrator is so happy in teaching you speedrunning in the game, even if the game's broken, they still know the glitches cannot fully take over you and help you go fast so you can beat the stages with no glitchy shortcuts with these strats, they even teach you how to skip Labyrinth zone, they really care for this game man, if we get the glitches patched, and new characters actually get playable (Like Amy Rose or even the obscure characters like Fang or Mighty)
In Tidal Tempest Act 1, if you run down to the closest platform (walk away from the collapsing ones), charge a Super Peel-Out into the ramp, jump while running up it and then bounce of the dragonfly robots, you can gain enough height to land on top of the level. From there you should be able to stay on top and run to the end of the level.
This one was packed with references! All those eggman's robots, woah my head's spinning... You even have the classic Reggie "I gotta get back to playing Animal Crossing New Leaf on my Nintendo 3ds!" Loved this series.
