(Sorry for long random tangent of a comment) Technically sonic never beat shadow and shadow never beat sonic because in the games it’s implied to be a draw. Because regardless of which story/path you play the player is always going to win the fight and even in sonic x they show that they have multiple draws and never actually Win or lose to an extent. Except for one episode during the metarex saga where shadow basically takes on the entire sonic crew and wins every encounter until tails manages to outsmart him. Honestly I think that episode is probably the best example of shadow’s character because he basically proves he’s as fast as sonic as strong as knuckles and as smart as tails and that’s with his inhibitor rings on. Obviously he’s not exactly as fast strong and smart as them with is inhibitors on. But in general he is more capable than all 3 of them especially after he removes his inhibitor rings. Also before someone says how can he be as smart as tails if tails outsmarted him just remember that eggman has a 300 IQ and even he still gets outsmarted sometimes.
