SEGA really knows how to kill any and all good ideas they come up with. The Adventure formula that incorporates full 3D platforming with speed? Let's release Sonic 06 and never go back to that idea again because of how embarrassing it was, despite several of the best Sonic games ever being Adventure-style games. The boost formula, with great gameplay in Unleashed and Generations that everyone loved? Let's make the physics engine worse and cheapen the level design with Sonic Forces to ruin it for everybody, plus shoehorn in gimmicks and Classic Sonic for no reason. The Riders series, which was actually a unique racing idea and not just another Mario Kart clone? Let's release Free Riders, a broken unplayable mess, and never return to the idea. Oh, and we'll just release Sonic and SEGA All Stars instead which is (you guessed it) a Mario Kart clone. They need to be clued back in to what the fans want. The only actual high quality Sonic game since 2011 has been Mania, and that's when they listened to what the fans wanted and hired fans of the series as their production team!
Just to add to the Knuckles theory. Not to mention he lived on an ISLAND floating in the sky for a vast majority of his life. I don't think he even has his driver's liscense. Tails is a safe bet seeing as he builds almost everything he drives.

Why doesn't sega listen to what we want? We want a remake of the Sonic Rider's Saga (No free riders unless involving controller support), a game just involving the chao garden's of the sonic adventure series, A giant remake of all of Sonic's best games (Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure Series, Sonic Generations, Sonic Unleashed (not gonna lie, gameplay with the werehog was pretty fun), make the handheld titles (sonic rivals, sonic adventure, etc.) available on new gen consoles and pcs. Do all this and you'll actually be able to keep yourself up.
TrollarchSuperSonic1312 I agree with you. Both sonic riders games were good and they should be remade aswell as porting them both to PC because they put sonic riders 1 on PC so it would be cool if they put sonic riders and sonic riders zero gravity on PC both of them remade and on one disk
SEGA does listen. That's why the character creator in Forces is a thing. The more they listen, the worse the game is considered to be. We need to stop complaining and let SEGA do whatever the hell they want with Sonic, and maybe we can get a good game for once. Because, no, i do not consider Mania to be very fun either.

Everyone's discussing about how this game was their childhood and i'm just sitting here with the original Sonic being my childhood game. ;-; Why the hell did i have all the uncool games :((( I'm serious, my dad thought the Gamecube was lame, so i never had a Gamecube or anything cool. I'm only just now getting to play good gamrs, i just starting playing Spyro yesterday and i have SA2 on PS4 and Steam and i have SA on PS4. I hope they bring Sonic Heroes to PS Now tho.
I can easily answer that. Mobius' technology advanced fast, so it's not the future. As to your question about Eggman, his old body (Ivo Robotnik) was killed off in the comics. Before he died, he made a robotic clone to what you know as Dr. Eggman.
Yes, but the games and the comics have no relation. The comics have a separate canon than the video games. If the comics and games had the same canon, we would have seen the Freedom Fighters and Scourge in the games by now (Sonic Spinball doesn't count).
who else notices that the texture on the final bosses eye isn't there on the Wii version and ABUGALURAAAA!!! I always laughed at that sound as a kid and I still do to this day.

It still happened. How do you think that he started to go by Dr. Eggman at the start of Sonic Adventure DX with a totally different look to himself? He was killed off in the comics and the game-makers decided to roll with it. Ivo was vaporized by his own weapon then a year later, Eggman was here.
Not to be that guy, but there was a CG film with sonic in it. Ever watch wreck-it ralph? I know it's not the same thing but . . . he was there at least, even if his cameo was nothing more than an equivalent to "sonic says" from the old cartoons.
i loved both sonic riders. now in 2012 - 2011 they have screwed it up so much. ive beaten this on ps2 and wii. anyone ever notice the final boss sounds constipated.
Sega says there are Different continuums, but I disagree. I think they are all the same universe (except for DiC Entertainment's takes), just with some changes. Maybe Riders takes place on the Mobian's side of the planet, where the Technology's improved compared to the human city state Station Square (City state since most things in Adventure 1, 2, and Shadow point directly to that), and where the Extreme Gear sports picked up after such technology was discovered somewhere.
In my head: Sonic and Knuckles are 17, Amy is 16 and Tails is 15... seems a little more believable with their mannerisms... tails has never seemed as young as 8 to me in the 3d games...
Apparently, all of the Sonic games are far from the comics,(Which is what we all think is the closest thing to getting a canon story) but some Sonic games like "Sonic riders" or "Sonic chronicles: the dark brotherhood" are a little close to the comics. So, it makes sense that you'd think that this is different from most Sonic games.

i always wondered... why and how the fuck did the sonic gang ended up and this world and never returned in any other sonic game except sonic free riders like I kno everone would like to play a level with this type of terrain. like the sound track is fucking amazing also
