Gotta say, “Sonic the Hedgehog’s Forgotten Adventure: Where He Went Up a Mountain Or Something” has a nice ring to it for a future Sonic title

I woke up earlier than my sister one Christmas and dear mother allowed me to open one present before she got up. It was Sonic's Kong Man Adventure. I am not kidding. Thank you for the nostalgia trip!

I had this... I remember my younger brother proudly announcing to our parents that he had swallowed the ball. Cue a panicked trip to the hospital. He was okay but my parents had to make sure it passed. Not fun for them.

*HOLY CRAP!* THIS! I remember seeing a Sonic marble toy at a toy store when I was a kid, and it has always been floating around in the back of my mind. The thumbnail perfectly matched what I recall to be on the front of the box! It's nice to be able to finally see it in action!

I feel like it's a missed opportunity for them to theme the Sonic version around Hill Top Zone from Sonic 2, considering it appears to be released around the time of Sonic 2 with Sonic and Tails on the art. Like despite the name of "Hill Top", that level from Sonic 2 was very mountainous and had lots of bridges and zip lines too.

I got this for Xmas when it came out. I remember being super excited, played it for half an hour and never touched it again.

Holy shit, I had an intense flood of memories just seeing the thumbnail, I loved that sonic thing as a kid. I don’t think I’ve thought about it for a good twenty years or so but man, there should be a German word for when you get hit with a direct shot of melancholy-nostalgia out of nowhere. This and my talkboy, the real life version of the recording thing used in home alone 2, were the best toys I remember getting.

Ever since you did Screwball Scramble, I have also been thinking about Kong Man. And you then did this video. The mark of a quality channel.

I searched for "Tomy Pocketeers Kongman" but I only saw the "travel" version seen in this video, which appears to be roughly the same height and width as a normal Pocketeer but at least three times the depth. It could be that the even smaller Kongman people claim exist is the King Kong Pocketeer, which is loosely styled after Donkey Kong but without the Nintendo license (so Tomy called it "King Kong" instead even though I'm not sure whether they got the King Kong license from Universal Studios) which is really just the Cat'n'Mouse Pocketeer with new artwork.

I don't remember Kong Man but I do remember seeing the Sonic one in the Argos catalogue and not being able to afford it.

I had one of these mate! Great fun until I lost the original ball-bearing and so ended up getting some extra that proved too small and fell inside the unit 😂 Then flogged it at my local car boot sale, sad times for a British 9 year old 😅🇬🇧

I had the original Kong Man growing up and is still, to this day, one of my favorite toys to think back on. Such an amazing concept and design!

I used to have a perfectly working version of the Sonic one, and longer before that when I was much younger the handheld one. The handheld one probably broke, the Sonic one though went to a charity shop with a bunch of other stuff, really cool to see it again here! You also completed it way more easily than I ever did!

Forgotten is the right word! I had one of these as a kid, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but unlike Screwball Scramble my memory of it had entirely vanished until this video brought it back out of the aether.

So that's what this thing was called! I haven't watched the Screwball Scramble video yet, but the thumbnail dredged up an ancient memory of that orange mountain with the ball bearing and everything. I remember getting one at probably a garage sale or thrift store as a kid in the early 90s, but the name escaped me until now. Glad to get that settled after only a couple days, would've driven me crazy.

Wow, this unlocked a memory I completely forgot about. I had that exact Sonic Kong Man toy when I was a child. I remember the day I got it, I was adamant about taking it to a fireworks show for some reason, and I remember just being sat in the back of the car analysing every little detail on it lol
