That would be pretty cool to see a more threatening Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts. They would still be dimwitted, but not as much as their other counterparts and still capable to lead squadrons of swat bots.
Those were some good animated scenes. It's a shame we never saw Scratch, Grounder, or Coconuts in SATam. I am betting that is just how they'd look like even though Sonic and Tails don't look any different between shows.
As a kid I used to think that SATAM was a sequel to AOSTH. I thought that Robotnik got rid of Scratch and Grounder in order to get serious about world domination.
More evil Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts would have been a great edition to the series. at least they could have been a distraction for Sonic and friends while Robotnik and Snively were working on more sinister plans.
Love these SatAM designs of Scratch and Grounder here. They look very menacing and pretty edgy. I wonder had they appeared as such in the series, I wonder if their *extreme* stupidity would have been kept or toned down?
They're bumbling, but not comically idiotic. You can outsmart them, but think fast. If you're not Sonic, good luck. They make a lot of use with their mechanical parts and gadgets, and will throw hands. Maybe literally. Also yeah, I didn't want to make them look too different than their Aosth counterparts, because theoretically, they'd both be produced by DIC. They would've cut corners and been like. "Oh, just these guys, but shaper, darker, and different eyes." Easier for budget, and to let animation errors to slip by.
Haha I only like that episode for Sally's cameo, Aosth interpretation of Swat bots, and the use of the SatAM zoom sound when sonic runs. I'm also pretty sure that tiny green robot that just suddenly had more significance as a lackey than Scratch and Grounder was supposed to be Snively, but he was probably cut because casting issues or something of the sort. I mean they kinda sound the same, and Robotnik does calling him "sniveling."
i love it, sounds kinda sad, just like Sonic satam is. I means, Robotnik wins in Sonic satam and robotize everyone (sorry for my bad english, i am Brazilian)
I love it, but actions like grounder’s head bouncing of the floor and coco turning to look at sally are hard to see and move too fast. Maybe the anticipation is off? Either way the shading and coloring is amazing!
