Sonic Superstars: 5 Things SEGA MUST Do To Bring Back HYPE!

Well, there was that Sonic Superstars newsletter that said that there would be an Online Battle Mode and there was an ESRB description that said: "Online: 1 - 8", which is probably for the Battle Mode

We need a release date

The reason why there are less views for superstars is because everyone already knows it will be good. With Frontiers, everyone was so worried it would be a failure, so they scramble to find a video showing that its good

I think the reason why everything so quiet with superstars is the fact that well this is the first Sonic game in a long time we had nothing to worry about

Releasing next to Mario Wonder and Spider-Man 2 is a death sentence on top of being the same price

The only reason people aren't hyped for this game is because everyone agrees that it will be a good and polished game. It has no major things wrong with it, so Sonic fans aren't talking about, and just saying they aren't hyped because they think it needs to have the same prerelease that frontiers did. Which is just stupid.

I'll be honest. The biggest reason that I'm not hyped or excited for Sonic Superstars, is because the game so far looks run-of-the-mill. It feels like it's selling itself hard on the fact that you have four playable characters and it plays just like a Classic game but with original stages, but one thing the game has yet to prove is how fun those stages even are. We've seen maybe two levels, and I admittedly didn't feel any sense of excitement from it. It just felt straightforward. Also, they seem to still be hiding the music? Our first look at direct gameplay had Sonic 4 music pasted over it.

In my opionion they don't need to creat hype at all. Like frontiers when the game comes out word of mouth will draw people to the game naturally. Also cross promotion with the knuckles tv show coming out this fall will naturally do that too.

If they made it Modern instead of relying on Classic branding they would've garnered more attention. Even using Movie Sonic characters would've been better for marketing lmao.

Let's be real here. Given the track record of past Classic Sonic projects (that being Mania and Origins), there is definitely going to be a Sonic Superstars PLUS. I would be surprised if there wasn't one. So if they do that they would probably add stuff like online co-op.

I'm so excited for the game.

People did the reverse when Sonic 4 Episode 2 came out and swapped in the Classic models for Sonic and Tails. So I think they can definitely mod in the Modern models.

I’d love to see Modern Skins but I don’t think it’s happening because of the Classic Amy Modern Skin kinda defeats the purpose of an actual Modern Amy Skin. Also they Deconfirmed Online Coop

I'm looking forward for Sonic Superstars (I don't get hyped for games no more mostly because you get hyped for something and it becomes a disappointment I.E Overwatch 2) but my only concerne is Arzest, I don't hate them but most of their games are misses like Yoshi's New Island (which I like but felt lackluster,) Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Hey Pikmin, Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s journey and the less we talk about Balan Seazureworld the better. I don't want this to fail because I want to see more Classic Sonic games in this style.

Can’t get hype for a game with no release date.

Fear fuels hype. Everytime a Sonic game looks sketchy or has red flags like Sega trying to hide the game from us we go crazy talking about it. Superstars feels safe, I'm sure I'll like it so I don't need to see more of it

We don't see Metal, no Mighty or Ray, its classic, we might not play as Trip, amd we already played Amy with her new moveset in Origins Plus. There's nothing really notable to look forward to here, unfortunately

Sonic frontiers As a demo and I played it on my internal switch it was bad really really bad

The marketing has definitely lost momentum, SEGA need to act fast

Personally I haven’t been watching Sonictubers cover Superstars because I got really spoiled on Frontiers and I honestly prefer to go in blind. Considering that it’s a classic game there probably isn’t as much to spoil but I’d like to be surprised anyway. That’s just me though.

Aaaaand another episode of "me starting to rant on Sonic fandom". Seriously, fandom is one of biggest reasons why I even left Sonic fandom and just become Sonic player. Because, constant complaining and whining only hurts my brain and mind even more. People, for the love of Chaos! Put THIS in your mind already! "No modern characters in Classic game!!!" Because, despite Iizuka saying is that "Shadow won't be in Superstars" - you'll still going with wanting Shadow to be playable. Do you forgot is that, during events of Classic Sonic games - Shadow is still sleeping in capsule. So, there's NO WAY for Shadow to be playable in Classic. And, any other Modern Sonic character in Classic Sonic game is automatic "no-no". As of matter of fact, is that I don't want to see Modern Sonic with Classic Sonic gameplay... period. I already got annoyed by that, thanks to Sonic 4. So, let Classic Sonic gameplay handled by classic characters, while Modern Sonic handling 3D games! (end of rant) Now, as for points you provided, GamerGuyd. I agree with you... for the most part. SEGA has been super quiet when it comes to this game. And that's a really bad thing, because that could hurt game's sales really badly. Online Co-op would be better, since not everyone gonna go and play game locally. Because, there might be circumstances, why other players prefer to play in their homes. Game's price of 60$ is also super ridiculous, but then again... wasn't it's become a running gag of popular franchises getting a "60$" price, so those big-shot companies could just take more money out of you? Because, this is NOT funny at all and they getting more hungry for your wallet. The ONLY thing I disagree is Modern skins. Let me ask you a question, how do you even implement Modern skin into main trio (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles), since they pretty much not different from each other? Now it did worked better for Amy, because she did have a different design in Modern Games. I don't care, what people say... me and my friends are still excited for Sonic Superstar and want to try it in future. And nobody gonna change my mind. P.S. To all Mario haters in comments - "Super Mario Wonders" won't fail... period! And I want both "Mario Wonders" and "Sonic Superstars" to achieve success. why would it be hype? we know they can make a 2D game. we'll be hype when they actually make a good 3D sonic game. (frontiers was mid asf, sorry.)

Sonic Superstar is like oatmeal to me. I know its gonna be good but it just doesn't have that spice like Mario Wonder. I agree with ur points and Im still gonna get Superstar, but even with those points, im probably gonna get it next year cuz its not on my "Most Hype To Get List" like Spider Man 2, Mario Wonder, and Bombrush Cyberpunk. Plus I got stuff i need to get anyways so if Superstars is just gonna be an ok classic game but weaker than 3&Knuxs n Mania, then im not gonna preorder it even if its $40 for Fall. The game gotta have either better lvls n lvl design than Mania (Which at least all the lvls look original, just waiting to see if all of them looks fun), or have better content/replay value than Mania. If it doesn't have any of that, then I'll wait until next year. Not missing much anyways from Superstar always since Frontiers Update 3 will keep me satisfied.
