6:50 I literally started crying from laughter at that scene. The way the camera holds on Eggman's ridiculous falling animation is absolutely hysterical.
I know this game is a homage to the original Sonic Adventure, but this battle was far more terrifying than Egg Viper. It showed that Eggman himself is still a dangerous foe, even with villains like Solaris and Dark Gaia and Perfect Chaos.
God do I miss the days when Eggman was actually threatening and somewhat capable. Now he's a stupid punching bag, his bossfights really suck, and they are ALWAYS recycling that shitty Colors final boss.
@@tristanclapsaddle1542 Funny enough, badniks like the Egg Gunner, Lancer and Buster are VERY similar to those of the movies. You could literally recycle them for Sonic Movie 3 and everyone would be none the wiser!
Say what you will about this game but I loved this boss. One of my favourite fights against Eggman in the series. Reminded me a lot of Egg Viper only this time in the sky.

Eggman's desire to best Sonic is what gives him the will to live. It's actually kind of awesome when you think about it. It still doesn't make much sense, Eggman has survived much worse than this.
Movie magic?! Who knows! How the fuck did half the game work?! My advice is just to roll with it. Asking how with Sonic '06 is just going to leave you with more headaches than answers.

He unveiled his latest and deadliest creation. The Egg Wyvern. A fearsome machine that was only to be used when Eggman needed a target wiped off the map. Today was no exception.
After I beat the Wyvern in Frontiers, I went to my gc to freak out about Frontiers. One of my friends who doesn't keep up with gaming asked if they could get that game on the 360. Lemme tell you, this is definitely a Sonic game where a major boss has Wyvern in the name. Should have brought up Metal Gear Rising... EDIT: I FORGOT ABOUT HIS FUCKIN LOONEY TOONS ASS DEATH ANIMATION
If Eggman had any wisdom at all he would have used the egg wyvern to fly away to safety instead of trying to fight Sonic on a crashing ship. To be fair if he did then he would have run a standard maintenance check on his ship before taking off. He clearly never read the Art of War.

His radar didn’t show anything, the hedgehog obviously didn’t have all the Chaos Emeralds, but anything could happen… perhaps that annoying fox-boy was following them in his plane? Who could know?... No, he wanted to make quite sure the hedgehog was dead this time. He wanted to see his body blown apart, his eyes wide with shock, his legs twisted and broken, unable to run ever again… he wanted to see Sonic splatter against the front of his creation... and now a horrible smile creased his face, because over the howling winds, he heard a voice calling out to her hero… “Sonic, watch out! He’s still trying something!” Eggman nodded. He most certainly was. Man, game only really sucked because they never got to finish it. If it were finished then the story wouldn't be extra insult to injury, it'd just be fun to laugh at. But of course the main problems with the game, as a game, were really just examples of the game engine being broken.
This boss fight would look awesome and sound awesome with heavy rain drops and massive thunderstorm with lightning in the screen of the egg wyvern boss fight and the sound effects of it as well.
Before the end of the boss fight Princess Elise says "Sonic! Watch out! He's still trying something!" This is similar to the warning Tikal gives to Sonic in Sonic Adventure, saying "Watch out! He's up to something."
This game was an attempt to go back to Sonic's (3D) roots after Heroes and ShTH's influences on the series, so this game a lot of similarities and references to Sonic Adventure.

Look at Elise's facial expressions at previous level, when she is left alone, and after the ship starts to malfunction. She does not seem to be too concerned with it. Then think about her line, how she'd rather die, than be Eggman's prisoner. Looks like she sabotaged the ship. When I made the Wyvern hit the debris like 3 times, he jumped off, and when landed, nowhere Sonic basically jumped off and didn't hit the platform, he died. May I ask if there is anyway to stop this?

The best thing about this boss fight (other than that hilarious falling animation from Eggman) is how some of the voice clips during this fight could easily be used for a modern voice mod for the Egg Viper fight from Sonic Adventure (even though a lot of lines from that fight have already been redone in Dimensions) and the cutscene right before it.
I'm kind of curious as to how each Eggman Mech boss will be optimized in P-06. Iblis, Mephiles, and the Rival battles, I can already see how those ones can be improved, but I really don't know how the mechs can. Any ideas?
Sonic has manged to complete all of his stages and defeat eggman's robots now he has one more boss to phase off and that's Dr eggman and his egg wyvern and then he and elise can escape from the explosion
when sonic jumps on the ship, the ship looks kinda small, but in the battle, it looks like the biggest creation eggman ever made. I thought it was an interesting size fact XD

This boss fight may suck, but it does feel climactic to fight the final boss of Sonic's side of the story. But the Last Story's final boss is still better. Go Solaris!!!

Kara rohlman good shadows story is the best out of all of them silvers story is pretty good too but sonics wasn't that good you will unlock the last story when you complete all 3.

I know it's too late to reply, but do buy it. Sure, glitches, bugs, and bad relationship with Sonic and Elise, but let me tell you. Shadow, Silver, Mephiles, stages, music. They were the greatest thing in this game.
Hot Take: This should have been the boss for the Modern Era of Sonic Generations instead of the Egg Dragoon because this music is far more badass and the remix it would have gotten would be pretty incredible
This really was supposed to be adventure 3 wasn’t it? Like this is a better version of the egg viper. I’m convinced if this game came out on the GameCube or Dreamcast people would’ve loved it. What people neglect to realize is how janky both adventure games were. Sonic team was still trying to figure out 3D Sonic at the time so Kano back then was a bit more forgivable. I feel people fail to realize is that the adventure style of games includes things like shadow the hedgehog and Sonic ‘06.
So if it wasn´t for the time consuming thingie, Eggman would have outright died here, as he was free-falling from God knows how many hundreds or thousand meters.
at 6:42 you see that Sonic has defeated Eggman, but how the fuck has he no fallen to his death? After he hits Eggman he can't do anything because he's in mid air. So how he fuck did he pull off a "Now i'm over here" if he was just in mid-air?
Terrible, what a waste of what could have been a really great game. If only it wasn’t so rushed and came out 10 years later, a remake or graphics update of this game with bug fixtures may have got the game a better existence
