Sonic Unleashed 3DS - Road2Demo2 #1

I'm so fucking glad I decided to subscribe even though the last video was months old

We got Sonic Unleashed on the 3DS before we got Sonic Unleashed on the PC

Final part caught me off guard, was slightly expecting an exe reference lol

I'm glad the project hasn't been abandoned, it's amazing

Finally, peak the videogame came back

This makes me think what the PS2 version would have been like if it had taken the base of the HD gen but adapted to the resources of the PS2, the boost in spagonia would have been more fun

I get oddly excited about demakes, makes me wonder though what modern stages of Gens would’ve been like if they were allowed to cook. Swear half of this game port must be the file size for the opening cinematic

I’m so excited for this to grow. I love unleashed and this is really spot on. De-making it on the 3DS is just the cherry on top well done.

This is UNBELIEVABLE. By looking at the first videos, my usual reaction was "this is great, but I don't think it can work on the 3DS, why couldn't they just do a demake or something?". But you proved me wrong, and I'm so glad you did!! The FPS is relatively stable, the gameplay is smooth and looks really close to the original, the visuals are amazing, and the animations are straight up identical to the HD version (in the best way possible). You're doing amazing, please keep it up!!

I think that aside from the New 3DS's/ CPP's ZL/ZR buttons, a good way to have quick stepping work may be to have it done with left and right on the D-Pad! At least it could be a control option, along with maybe a double-tap for L/R. Overall I am super impressed with this! It's so pretty.

Woah, having the Apotos overworld playable is insane, really shows what the 3DS can do when pushed to its limits.

This is honestly such an impressive demake/port. Considering Sega never tried anything like this on *any* portable system of the day is a crying shame if one person like you can get the game running in an early state with such a consistent FPS. It honestly makes me wish we at least got the PS2/Wii version of Unleashed on PSP, but seeing this run on a system which is technically even weaker makes this all the more impressive

Back in the day, seeing a next-gen cutscene in an old-gen port always felt like a tease. On the other hand, it was quite effective in promoting the next-gen consoles. Ngl, tho, if the 3DS and this "port" were released back in the 2000s, I, a PS2 port owner, would be jealous of 3DS owners, lol.

This is all so cool! Though I’m curious, how feasible do you think finishing this project is? Not that I want to doubt you, this is all INSANELY impressive! But are you worried at all about how hard it might be to recreate so much content? :o

Man lighting looks better, next is just to fix the blending on the grass, You could set an alpha on each vertex and have two layers of quads where the fade happens between the two, Kinda like__ __ \_____/ Fade on \ and the empty is just not needed polys so it’s removed (You could also do a fixed function shader and use the vertex with the textures I believe, maybe?) …THE HUBS ARE ADD!!! DREAMS COME TRUE (Funny I now can do this my self now but not 2010s me lol) Oh you can also bake vertex lighting, this could add shadows to areas the directional light can’t do
