Speed run in Eggmanland with an S rank. [1080 HD] This is absolutely the most difficult and worst level to survive in on any Sonic game ever! After several attempts to perform a speed run, I managed to succeed.
Afonso Ramos in terms of 'getting through it without game over-ing' I'd agree with you as there's a life after virtually every check point. However doing this without any deaths? And so quickly? Yeah right ok
Welcome to the Salty Spittoon. How tough are ya? How tough am I, I beat Eggmanland in Sonic Unleashed 360. So. With an S Rank on my first try. Right this way please.
Monkey D. "Straw Hat" Luffy I've seen you everywhere. Even on forces videos, lol I'm planning to go back to unleashed too as I consider it the best out of the boost games
Fan: Ew, this level is long and hard. I hate it. It's the worst. *IT'S A FINAL LEVEL, OF COURSE IT'S GONNA BE THE HARDEST THING EVER. THAT'S THE POINT OF FINAL LEVELS.* Not to mention, quick reminder: It's been Eggman's dream to built the place throughout the franchise, of course he's gonna go full out on it.
Overkill makes sense though. Overkill is what Eggman wanted: to make a deathtrap for Sonic in the near end. And since he has been failing, it only gave him better and deadlier ideas throughout the series to create a terrifying Eggmanland .
Same, I suffered so many headaches from all the deaths. I'd prepared myself by gathering a lot of lives, but dying over and over again when you can already see the next checkpoint in the distance, just... ohh my god the pain.. To make matters even worse, the PlayStation was connected to the living room TV, meaning when I finally got halfway through (which took me 70+ minutes seeing as I'm REALLY bad at day segments) my dad wanted to watch TV and I had to shut off the game. Needless to say I'm not playing Eggmanland again anytime soon... Rip
So yesterday I was like "I have two hours before class starts, I bet I can get through Eggmanland in that amount of time, right?" Aaaaaand two hours later, I FINALLY beat the level with 2 minutes to spare until class started. I was actually preparing to skip class to beat it. Final in-game timer was 65 minutes. My legs were cramping from being so tense during the entire level. Funnily enough, I actually finished the level with 94 lives (I grinded to 99 before starting the level). I never dipped below 90. If there's anything that can be said for this level, it's that during the most difficult sections, it usually gives you a respawning life right near the checkpoint, making trial and error gameplay a lot easier. Also, it really says something about this level that the hot dog stand time trial mission starts you off with "Finish the level in 75 minutes!" Like, obviously that's not a time trial. That's a disguised SURVIVAL trial. Imagine getting to the final werehog section and dying for some reason. *shudder* I think this is one hot dog stand trial I'm never going to attempt.
I beat the Hot Dog Stand trial missions, took me a few attempts though. Just do the regular Eggmanland a few times and you'll get the hang of it, then try the trials :)
I just beat eggmanland with an S Rank yesterday and i'm thinking of doing the don faccio's missions of eggmanland after finishing every don faccio's it won't be easy but i will do my best Pd: Thank god there are only 3 missions because if there would be 15 i would kill myself before doing them
There have been times where I actually got through Eggmanland without dying once + I got an S rank + I beat it under 30 minutes.I'm serious!I guess I'm just a skilled player.Believe it or not I actually like Eggmanland. Not as much as the other stages but I still replay it quite often.
Look at the detail in this level Look at how long it is Look at how challenging it is Look at how open it is Then, play forces. After that, play unleashed again. It will feel like a breath of fresh air. We’re probably never gonna see a level like this (or any other unleashed level) from sonic ever again with the series current budget :/ (This level was a bit to hard tho, to be honest)
I feel as if this is just hard enough, eggman finally fulfilled what he has built up to since sonic adventure 1, of course he's gonna go all out on it.
People complain about the boost style being old but if they made a game exactly like unleashed with only day stages and all completely original ideas I’m sure it would be successful
+Jayden Porter Nope! Pretty sure the hourglass/transitions between speedhog and werehog are there solely for level progression. Theoretically, it's not dark/night time enough for Sonic to change into Werehog form, so he can transition fluidly. Just a thought though...!
Maybe because of the closeness of Dark Gaia to Sonic, maybe he kind of had control in his werehog powers, maybe the hourglass implies that sonic can transform into a werehog with his own will? Idk, maybe that wont work
I told myself that I would try to get every S-Rank I can muster.Ha!Screw that. Not this level. Not the Tornado Defense levels. Not Empire City Night. Not Holoska Night. So much NOPE!
Alex Gibson Yeah, I know.I S-Ranked them a while ago.Trying to get it perfect was my struggle. No matter what,I'm not going for the S-Rank for the Tornado Defense levels.
The scariest part of this... is that Eggmanland isn't even *_finished_*. The level is already terrifying as it is...what if he had finished? The pure thought makes shivers run down my spine. Or it could just be me holding pee in to type this comment.
DarkendSoulxXx Oh no no no!! If Eggmanland MK2 is in Forces... I suddenly need to cry... Eggmanland PS3 (My record): 90min and died (almost to the finish)
To be honest despite the extremely hard difficulty people give this level after playing it a few times its actually one of my favourite levels in the sonic series its just like clement said that its supposed to be this climatic final level and that egg man finally built this thing and people are saying that its the hardest level every made...shouldn't it be? xD Its the last level for a reason and I'm glad the generations modding community finally got a great mod for this level so kudos to them :)
Broey I agree. Damn that level was so good! Intense and really well done. The music was pretty good too, I'm glad they don't insert the Jazz music during the Night phase. Definitely one of the best Sonic's level you're right!!
I’ll never understand people that hate this level. A final level is supposed to be challenging, and I love Eggmanland for it’s challenge and just how much effort the devs probably had to put towards this one insanely huge stage
"This is absolutely the most difficult and worst level to survive in on any Sonic game ever! After several attempts to perform a speed run, I managed to succeed." and i still think its one of the best final stages in the franchises history ngl
it baffles me that unleashed, the firs tboost game, gave you the biggest sense of speed sonic hass ever had, and they haven't been able to replicate it or beat it in 15 years, generations was the closest it got
I've never played this game on PS3 and Xbox360 (a shame, really), but I personally think this is the perfect setting for a final stage in a Sonic game of this kind. Only one Act rather than the conventional two or three, but much longer and difficult than the rest of them; a challenge, that is. This formula would have perfectly worked in Sonic Generations as well, rather than using the Planet Wisp and then going to fight directly the Time Eater (after the Egg Dragoon) without any original final stage to go through. Imagine this: a final stage with only one difficult and long Act like this one, imbued with darkness and clock-like wheels (like the background scenario found in the final battle) where you must advance cooperating and changing between Classic and Modern Sonic by using the collected Chaos Emeralds. Better that way rather than the way it is in Sonic Generations; in my opinion, of course. What do you think about it? PS: By the way, very nice playthrough you got here; it must have been pretty rough to achieve it, so congratulations!
@@JoseGregorioValeroVillarroel lmao hard bosses? Please those bosses were a complete snooze fest besides the final one which was terribly designed, how do you let the final boss of a sonic game be f#cking space invaders?!
@@JoseGregorioValeroVillarroel the story was nothing to write home about, the whole thing with sage and eggman and her kinda being his daughter was very weird to me. I didn’t really care much for her character, she felt very typical and bland to me. Amy, tails, knuckles were all okay I suppose but most of their their interactions felt either too short, bittersweet, or boring.
Does anyone else agree with me that the hardest part of this level were the quick-time event sections? Those made me nervous as heck and I'd fail the stage numerous times due to being trigger happy. Regardless, I'm glad after hours and hours of practicing this level, I finally cleared all of Don Fachio's Eggmanland chilli dog missions and got the achievement "Hard Boiled". Safe to say that I am never picking up this level again. Lol.
+Alex Gibson my worst parts are 3:40 - 6:20 and the jump of luck at 11:41. i be doing the other hotdog missions before completing the story and the hotdogs here
Luckily! I'm attempting to get all the Hotdog trophies right now... I'm currently just starting Dragon Road Night's hotdog missions... I already did one of the Eggmanland missions but that was around 6 years ago. I somehow got it on my first attempt but I'm not too optimistic about coming back 6 years later, on my attempt to finally obtain the platinum trophy for this game...
Eggmanland=final level hints on why it's hard. Eggman is the enemy and this is his level and it's the final level this is supposed to put your skills to the test
Unfortunately still to this day...I have not beat this stage...rage quit over some damn spikes. After another try...and a new controller. I finally beat the damn stage
11 years ago and this gem is still up. Right as it should since this EggmanLand gameplay is epic. I couldn’t pull off much of the shortcuts you did. Thank you for all the gameplay videos you did.
@@keon200 Pretty much but honestly if they added a level that hard again i’m pretty sure sonic fans would be happy and wouldn’t have to beat the game in like under 24 hours
Honestly Sonic Colors can't even be called "the day stages from Unleashed", because at least in Sonic Unleashed has mostly 3D gameplay, with a tiny bit of 2D. Sonic Colors is just a safe 2D platformer with small 3D boosting set pieces.
so eggman managed to piss off a great chunk of the fanbase with a final challenge nice i can only guess the frustration here comes from the fact that this is different from any other daytime stage, because here.. you have more imput on things to do
The normal day levels have challenge and platforming themselves. Only experts boost all the way through. Did you forget that this isn't sonic forces for a second?
***** The daytime stages could also be kind of frustrating. You often have to carefully go through the level and look for these sun/moon medals, which could be a chore. And you don't always know what obstacle is about to come in your way while running fast, which can lead to cheap unfair deaths... The night stages were more slow and you could explore the level easier. And I enjoyed the combat and combos :)
***** Hard but surprisingly fun for me! :D Yeah, I'm not saying I hate the day time stages. There were just a few things that bugs me. Other than that, really fun to play through the level. I love to speed dash and do the homing attack on enemies :)
I absolutely love this game. Both the day and night stages are amazing because of the balance. The night stages balance out the daytime stages. They're a perfect contrast from the fast-paced daytime stages, and the difficulty is fine. You have to read what the enemies do and you have to think out your strategy. You can't always rely on blazing fast speed to win. The night stages and Eggmanland test you to use your instincts to fight your way to the goal ring. That's what makes the night stages and Eggmanland great. Eggmanland definitely shows no mercy and requires you to use everything you've learned up to that point in the game. When you get an S rank after beating a level in the game, you feel like you actually DESERVED that S rank. Not because you beat it on some technicality. Sonic Unleashed is difficult, and that's a good thing. Would you rather have Sonic games be piss easy like Colors, Generations, and Forces? Or would you rather have Sonic games that have actual challenge and test you like Sonic Adventure, SA2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic 3&K, Shadow, 06, Mania, and Unleashed? What happened to you, Sega? You used to be amazing with Sonic. Now you produce crap.
I don't mind a tough challenge. As long as you're well rewarded for your efforts along with feeling a sense of pride for your patience and determination.
For those of you who are like me and want every achievement in this game, 2 achievements require you to complete this level with no deaths. At the time of posting this comment, I've made it as far as 7:22 in the video and I've been going at it for several hours. To anyone else who attempts this, I wish you good luck. Edit: I have now made it to around 8:08, where I failed the QTE ramp and then died when I tried to homing attack an enemy but instead boosted off the platform because the game ate my jump input. I'll keep updating as I get farther so you have some examples of what not to do. Double Edit: Just died at 11:56, literally the second to last place I can even die. All because I tried to take my time and the pole broke on me :( Final edit: I finally finished it once, no deaths. This took me somewhere between 6 and 8 hours of playing. Now to do it twice more for the final achievement...
@@mr.whimsic6902 It's been a while, so forgive me if my memory is a bit off, but I believe there was an achievement for getting all of the hot dogs for Eggmanland and another for eating all of the food in the game.
@@Somonyo 4 years ago it was the drop shadow that fucked me over when I wanted to replay it after I played it when I was 10 years old when I bought the game in 2008 so… yeah the drop shadow sucks in this level
@@tyronejones9800 the drop shadow never really gives me issues, probably cause I don't usually go by it. Mostly the pipes and that one section in that big room with all the grappling things
I hate this stage so much. For one, the quick times are aboyingly hard. Second is that sonic easily can fall off the stage when you try to do the homing attack and doesn't lock on and does a boost instead. Third would be that you don't know what's in front of you amd the stage doesnt let you take a break to slowly see whats ahead in 2D areas and sonic runs off as you try to stop or slowdown. Forth is that you don't know where you are landing because there are no shadows under you. Fifth would be the horrible cameras that lock on and don't freely move to see where you need to go or try to jump to when you're a werehog so you fall off the pipes. Its even worse when the camera angle keeps changing. 6th would be that werehog sonic sometimes cant grab on to things because the homing fails
Eggmanland is a freaking hell, they put a part with water and i kill myself But i got a rank A so i'm very proud I could get a rank S but i got bad lucky and the game made me lost 5 lives at the end. The end with normal Sonic obviusly, the plataform with him is very hard and horrible, is too fast.
Funny how sonic team made stages like green hill and chemical plant return in forces yet it was the perfect opportunity to bring eggmanland back in forces since that was always eggman’s goal to complete when he takes over the world.
A lot of people doesn't like this stage because it's too hard, but IT'S THE FREAKING LAST STAGE, NEEDS TO BE HARD TO TEST YOUR HABILITES And that's why I like this stage.
I may not have liked this stage back when I played the game but Eggmanland has really started to grow on me lately. Sonic Unleashed has some issues but boy does the final hour or so of it feel so climatic!
Titanic Monarch in Mania was tough but I agree with the 3D ones. Terminal Velocity was ok difficulty wise, but it felt repetitive Planet Wisp was baby easy Lava Mountain Act 3 IS fairly strong, but not THIS strong Final Judgement exists The final Frontiers Island wasn't that hard, but it was fun so I let that one slide
“Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how tough are ya?” “How tough am I? I finished Egmanland with an S Rank” “So?” “On my first try.” “Uh, right this way, sir.”
I just did this level 2 days ago and I had a feeling that bouncing on that spring would kill me as the werehog, so I didn't bother even though i wanted to so bad. Does it actually kill you by launching you so little from your huge werhogular muscles or does it just not work?
@@ncrveteranranger4454 Iirc it wouldn't really work. Idk its been a long time since i played this game, i just recently bought it again just to find out lmao
@@Ajay-dy3xw oh wow. Hope you have fun playing it again. Always wanted to play unleashed since it released. Saw rooftop run and said it was my favorite Sonic game even though I never played it. Now that I have, It's defiently my favorite and rooftop run is my favorite 3D level behind the original speed highway
14 minutes. 14 minutes is all that it takes to see god. Have you ever wanted to see something beautiful, something unattainable? SonicJGB, you've unleashed perfection.
This level is really doable to master. Once you s rank it once, youll always s rank it .this is a perfect final level ; hard to master but when you do , its even better.
@@keon200 Do you know the point requirements for the S Rank on this stage? I've been trying my hardest to get the S Rank, but it would be much easier if I knew how many points I have to get exactly
@@TusharSundarka just dont get hit and take the shortcuts. The way i mastered eggmanland was by youtubing the shortcuts; it makes the level so much shorter and easier. And when i say dont get hit, im only talking about as sonic. You CAN get hit as werehog and you CAN get hit while riding the sledge thing or whatever. Just dont get hit as sonic ON FOOT.
@@keon200 wow that last bit should help a lot. I always got hit on the sled and I would restart because I thought my S rank was lost. I'll try to get that S Rank today!
I love this game. This level is better than forces and that an entire game. This game doesn't deserve the hate it gets. We really need a remaster as it runs awfully on the PS3.
Man this stage is something; a straight run without dying once is hard enough to do but imagine if they did a Daredevil Challenge as one of the trials ( or limited that to just the Sonic day-time sections, since the Werehog sections are very combat heavy and virtually impossible to do without taking damage). That'd be the absolute nightmare of all of them! The amount of QTEs on this is just overdone and not fun; it's not fair to get punished and die on something I only have split seconds to react to.
Yeah, uhm. Let me just... *Boots up my Wii version.* Oh- that's right... Sure, the Wii version is WAY easier... but... "Complete Eggman Land Unscathed"... it haunts me to this day.
