Wow! How cool I actually discovered Sonic a little earlier. Sonic Heroes is when I first got acquainted with the fastest thing alive! Little did I Sonic was just about his dark age. ❤
I didn't see that. In fact, I barely took attention to it. That's why Sonic games are so great. The fourth wall breaks are so subtle you can barely tell they exist. In fact, the most "in-your-face" fourth wall break happens in-game, when Sonic the Hedgehog taps your foot at you impatiently if he's idle for too long. I feel Sonic the Hedgehog and related characters know they're in a video game, yet they do not care about it that much. _Sonic Colors_ and ESPECIALLY _Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice_ got this wrong, being so direct in their fourth wall breakage. One of the lines Amy said was something like, "...if our adventures were merchandised." To make it even worse, Amy winked at the player. At best, the player can get annoyed and say (sarcastically), "Wow." At worst, it makes SEGA of America and the writers of this game (Warren Graff and Ken Pontac) look greedy. Not to mention it was not funny in the slightest. This game and games that came before it got it right, though. I appreciate that.
I can't do it, but I know how to do it. Get two balls to juggle that comfortably fit in your hand. Then toss one up in the air, wait, then toss the other one. You should then be tossing a ball, catching another one. Repeat till you get bored.
@@mizzmidnight4835 the emeralds? He had them already but they lost power. Orbot explained this later in the game. I think this is the only sonic game where Sonic has the emeralds already and doesn't need to do any special tasks or go hunting for the emeralds

I know right lol , but then again shadow is difficult guy to get around not to mention he try beating/killing sonic a dozen of times. So way not help the cute little stranger get back his memories first
silversoul the imp(tripple S hedgehogs fan) Think about it: Maybe shadow doesn't WANT his memory restored...maybe he knows he had a painful past, or just doesn't want to risk it at all...
@maulcs I don't know, I truly felt that it was balanced in keeping both day and night levels. I especially enjoyed how the werehog was played into the story. I actually prefered the night levels, due to the fact that some of the fast levels were nearly impossible to not die in. The night levels gave me a sense of better control with Sonic. This is of course not to say that the day levels sucked, just that they were a pain in the ass sometimes if you know what I mean.
I don't see how so many poeple disliked this game. The voice actors are good, Sonic's werehog design is col, the graphics are great and this was one of the few sonic games that actually gave the player the feeling that you were running fast.
2008 was the last year of mascots. The last and greatest games of franchises like this, no matter what retro fans say, were released in this year. Crash Bandicoot had Crash Mind Over Mutant, Spyro had Dawn of the Dragon, and Sonic had Unleashed. All had the most evolved and complex gameplay of each series, and were all fantastic fun to people not wearing nostalgia goggles. Now all that's left of creative cartoon games like this, are bitter memories...
@JimmyColls Wow, thanks for the candor. As a sonic fan from the old days (i.e 1992, when I was a young boy), I appreciate knowing some people still care about the franchise.
This video is 12 years old😥, I remember being 5 years old and going on my computer on RU-vid and watching this exact Play-through. I was born in 2003 and I feel old now
This is definitely Jason Griffith at his best. At first I didn't like him as a voice actor, but I got to say, he really stepped up his game in this...well...game lol
This game maybe wasn't very good but I think the characters in this game stood out a lot, they were very interesting! Especially chip :D he's my favourite!
@russianbagent IMO, this game was excellent. The Night stages had 30 unlockable attacks and many upgradable stats, not to mention a lot of secrets in the stages as with the Day levels. The negatives were overused music and easy enemies most of the time. Day stages are fast, exciting and keep you thinking, and the music fits well. The level design is also good. Negatives are somewhat repetitive and you may die a lot. There's a lot of side missions, collectibles and side content. IMO, it's great.
Ah, back when Sonic Team didn't dickride nostalgia (bringing back old stages, remixing old songs, bringing back Classic Sonic, etc). Also, I just got a Chuck e Cheese ad involving Sonic Forces.
I wish I had Sonics infinite pockets. He doesn’t wear anything or carry a backpack, yet he can just store the emeralds or anything of convenience on himself. 😅
I quite enjoyed this game and although the night levels were okay, I was always way more excited to do the daytime levels. Running super fast and getting motion blur was like YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! THIS IS A SONIC GAME!
