I almost never got to that part. I didn't level up Sonic's speed enough. So during the running sequence, no matter how perfect my run was, I never got to the ramps in time. I thought my game was bugged.
Wtf? No it wasn't. It was awesome and rewarded you for pulling them off. There wasn't even a punishment for failing them, you just gotta take the longer route.
@@panos21sonic I played this game when I was like 6 or something. I could beat the regular enemies, but the Cauldron was just... mmmmmmm Luckily my step-dad showed me how to do it, and then the whole game opened up like crazy because of all the new routes I could do by succeeding QTEs. It's now my favourite video game mechanic.

I freaking love these kind of QTEs. They're so badass and i feel amazing doing them. In other games they're like one or two buttons at max, but in this game it's so hardcore i love it. It trained me so hard for almost every game i played since as a kid lol
Even though it wasn't multiple buttion inputs, I hated when you had to mash x 50 time before you actually beat dark gaia because they barely give you enough time.
"Okay First one not so bad that was easy to do" "Okay give me a second one it's okay, still pretty easy" "Three are you serious?? Okay fine" "...My Brother in Christ why must you wish this misfortune upon me?"
Oh, god, I hated the QTE system. Just the regular QTEs were bad enough. But the one placed at the VERY END of the Perfect Dark Gaia boss fight was a massive middle finger to everyone who played the game.
The only time the QTE fails is in Empire City. If one knows what I am talking about, you hit the ramp before the Brooklyn Bridge. I died a few times from the QTE not appearing.
As someone who grew up playing unleashed I can say its not that had. Yeah its a little tricky but honestly. It's not as bad as people make it out to be...except thr x60 button mash against the final boss. That 1 does suck
