Normally when you download an Adventure Pack for Sonic Unleashed, all of its new levels are accessible via the game's world map, exactly at "Stage Select". And that seems to be the only option, until this recent discovery.
Sonic Team once planned to unlock additional stage gates for DLC levels in hub worlds when (an) Adventure Pack(s) is (are) downloaded. Not all the DLC levels were set up, particularly harder version of main acts did not have gates. Unfortunately the feature was scrapped, and as a result you can only choose DLC levels from the world map. The reason could be because the game was rushed that this feature was left unfinished & unused. Had it heen implemented properly, exploring hub worlds would have been much more meaningful.
