Rewind has good neutral no doubt about it, but reiko doesn’t have a lot of player expression. So in the hands of any good player he’s going to look the same.
@@oasivefgc1159rewind has good everything. The only reason Rewind isn’t Sonic Fox level is because he says “F” it way too often and proceeds to take a risk and eat a full combo.
Score was actually 8-5 Rewind. Missed a set win for Reiko @9:05. It was 0-3 Rewind when before and after rewind caught in the ddt catch throw. Should have been 0-4 Rewind. 😊😊😊 Great set.
Reiko is johnnys worst matchup. Against reiko u want to be mid range to beat his grabs but not get zones out. Johnnys only game plan is up close and he’s horrible at distance. So he struggles against reiko

@@visions7256 depending on shadow kick burning a bar is crazy….. all of your gaps is a full combo 50% punish for Shao and you have to depend on Shadow kick or kameos to get in. Stop the nonsense. Shao is by far Johnnys worst matchup. You can’t do Johnny things like you can against everyone else if the Shao is good. Reiko has the same range as Shao just slower. So the only thing you could even say makes Reiko tougher for Johnny is his stars……. Yeah right. Reiko armor gets 15% Shao armor leads to 50% with the right kameo 🥴

He relies on the overhead low mixup when he doesn’t have the axe and u just wake up on them and they don’t know what to do. He has no fast mids so Johnny pokes underneath almost everything. @@mcmurray360yeah you can’t hate reiko, he’s the most honest in terms of resource to damage ratio. He gets 45% max for all his resources when someone else can get 35-40%+ off like half a kameo and a bar

I feel like this matchup is pretty Reiko favored but once Johnny gets in it’s hard for Reiko to do much, but that can literally be said with Johnny vs anyone lmao
This reminds me of Vegeta vs Frieza on Namek. Like "damn it what's going on??? I know I'm better than this". The way Sonic restarts the match every time before it ends 🤣
@@whatuwant298 Nah he needs nerfs lol, he has counters though. But even MK11 Jacqui, Cetrion, and Fujin had characters that did well in the matchup. Doesn't mean they weren't ridiculously overtuned
Johnny has 0 neutral expect for back 3 but it only works when u are chasing him. In other words to beat johnny you gotta out play him in the neutral. how would you nerf him without killing him? he's only good when you let him get close and if you do thats on you not because he is busted. Its the same with mileena thats y they got no projectiles 🤦🏾♂️
@@whatuwant298 He doesn’t have to work to get in, the kameo system allows him to cover neutral freely. His frame data is outlandish, he’s the only character with a 9f hit confirmable mid, a 9f forward advancing hit confirmable high, a 6f d1, any touch is 30+% anywhere on screen without having to spend bar or kameo meter, he has ridiculous corner carry, a 2f parry, the best reversal punish in the game, the only invincible wakeup in the game that he can combo off of with a kameo, his EX dash is projectile immune, he can disable your throws, he’s got one of the best jump kicks in the game… do I need to continue? He’s easily the most privileged character I’ve ever seen in an NRS game, what can’t he do BESIDES throw a projectile at you? Even if you wanna say he gets outspaced in neutral, he never has to deal with that because of the kameo system. Kano, Lao, Motaro, Sareena… they all give him options. Everything is plus or safe, it’s literally never your turn unless you spend bar. Now you pair him with Lao and you get hard to block setups, even more plus frames, low hat lets him shadow kick in for free… how can you possibly say this character isn’t overtuned?
Gotta try stryker with johnny. Being able to enhance nut punch and call in stryker to hit your opponent with grenades can keep your combo going. You could even stand 4 into star power and get up to 55% if you know what your doing
Stryker is great. But in their level, the hype meter is harder to build. Lao gives weaker combos rn but helps with the zoning and mixes. That freaking hat gives u a guaranteed turn if it hits mid combos. Also has that armored kameo move without a meter.
You see that right? Ending combos with b2 for the oki pressure, ending combos in the corner with 1-2-4, using sweep on oki more... He been labbing fr lol
I think it also has to do with the nerfs to Raiden, Cyrax and Baraka. It's a completely different matchup now. It was stupid hard for Reiko to contest the constant pressure. Now there's no Baraka to worry about and Raiden is less OD. So is Kenshi since he has to get hit to call Sento. No more safely on block Sento
as A ex reiko main he gets boring. They should nerf his throwing stars and make his f1 at least 12 frames for him to be the upclose monster he should be
And people were confused on why sonic put reiko so high on the list. Reiko is good. I just wish i was good enough to play anyone good I’d make him one of my choices
