Add thats with Cyrax and hes gets two perfectly safe pressure strings its insane! My fav character is Baraka and Shao so its great seeing them playable.
@@51TomasLopez50 i also love this because i feel he was just the stabby guy on the old games. I also feel a small nerf on his chip dmg would be nice some game it becomes 40% of his dmg which doesnt feel fair.
@@fangsclaws9631yeah I think the chip is too much and a main baraka. But I think they’re going to leave it because you can flawless block which will negate all chip. It’s hard to do but it’s an option so they might leave him alone or nerf something else in his kit
Remember when no one was playing black in MK11 and after 1 tournament by fox they nerfed him because they knew the influx of players about to use him and the crying complaining they were about to get... That's how good sonic is... they have preemptive nerfs based on whatever character he uses in tournaments 🤣🤣🤣
The opponent frame perfect ducking the projectiles is insane. This person is mad good. It’s nuts to watch people who know frame data this well. You’ll watch a full Kenshi string, into Baraka punishing off of three frames. This is amazing gameplay.
he's actually very good, since mkx... but we should also mention that he didn't give a flawless block even once to avoid chip damage, which made him lose several fights....
Im 38 and have been around and a fan of the franchise since mk2 but stopped playing sometime around Armageddon just due to life's ups and downs. For some reason, the announcement for MK1, knowing of and having seen SonicFox jam on Evo with Joker and what not and being a fan, I've never in my life been more invested in watching someone both learn and play a video game. From him sharing his first Kenji video, his 3 vs 1 with scorpion kameo, all the way through Melina and now owning with Baraka it just gets better each session. I have a feeling, even if I fall off a bit, come Evo 24 I'll be cheering whoever he's maining with by then and watching him give em hell. Good luck man, it's been fun. 😊
Me too last time I was on a mk that I was serious about is prolly Armageddon I played 11 and 9 before and 10 but just the story and that's all I ever did just to know what was up
@@trumpameri1638which version did you played? If it was consoles you played like a third or fourth patch version. Initially Baraka just had to do the scissors in the corner to win, it didn’t had push back, had the best jump kick in the game, and had the king Lao spin, and other stuff that where nerf I don’t remember. After those nerf reptile and baraka where the worst.
It's nice to see people understand the most optimal counter to Kenshis stand power is to try zone the damn thing out. Most characters aren't built to handle getting jumped in melee range! XD
It’s not even that. It’s knowing when to play aggressive to. If kenshi tries to corner you gotta shut him down in mid stage. It seems like he’ll be an interesting character

@@billj4525well sonic is a champion on multiple fighter games and the guy he’s fighting is the best online granted his good but sonic is still in his element when I come to fighting games
@@billj4525Sonic has been voted best fighting game player a few times and has been #1 pro player across MK9,X,11,1, Fighters Z, and both injustice games. Bro sometimes goes to losers bracket on purpose just to fuck around.
Goes double for all the “Kenshi is broken” kids who cried about it pre-beta. It’s almost as if you lab the matchup, you can find strategies against certain setups.

@@soldier257How did they take it away? He's still a savage, but noble and prideful regarding his colony and would do anything to protect his fellow tarkat-sufferers. Making him a half-demon mutant that serves Shao Kahn had less flavour and potential than with this approach. Regardless he's not just a jobber now, but has a big influence with the Tarkat-Milena-Outworld dynamic.
Are there any elite Johnny cage players? I feel like he has potential to be the best character in the game since he’s one of the very few that if you took out Kameos he’s still a monster.

I think it’s the opposite here, it looked like sonic was making tigerz have a lot of patience, sonic poked out or back dashed pretty quickly and disabled sento so then kenshi was left a sitting duck in his weaker stance.
@@alexsfc Sonic really knows his characters, he disassembled Kenshi like a Lego stack and left him powerless to fight against. “I mastered you, I can take you down at any time”
This game seems so much better compared to previous installments where you were limited on your move set because had to play with variations, and because they took away basic moves like scorpions spear and forced you to use meter just to allow you to combo off it
It’s actually crazy that Baraka can carry a character to the opposite corner off of chip damage alone. (Edit) Not to mention his damage output, and mixup options with Cyrax 😳
Baraka in mk1 gives me mk9 kabal vibes with that chip damage. Him being able to maintain pressure like that but without the nomad dash cancels and having the majority of his strings be safe is impressive af. Then you have the pushback which is insane.
Baraka has been my main for over a decade now, I’m so used to being at a disadvantage for using the character. This is an amazing change, thank you NRS!
Genuinely so glad Baraka is looking like an actual viable character this go around, Honestly he's kinda deserved a bit of a showcase in the lime-light (imo atleast) and I'm glad this reboots lookin to deliver in that regard!

@@jamesonedwardsii4943 the only two most used kameos that are pretty strong are cyrax and sareena. Lao is in a good spot too he has high dmg and pretty god mixups idk how you’re sleeping on lao that hard. Scorpion doesn’t even need buffs too like what 💀 and base kenshi is the only thing I’d agree with but there’s no point in buffing that when sento is a thing
@@alphadaslaya it’s because I look at how good a character is without a Kameo. Without a kameo Lao is a grab character, scorpion is trash. I’m a Lao main and he isn’t a “mix up” anything. Other characters have so much more than him.
Kenshi will always have a special place in my heart. He was the first character I ever got good at using in MK Armageddon and wrecked all the other kids in the neighborhood.
I get that SonicFox is one of the best players ever, but the dude destroyed the number one ranked player with a character that isn't even his main. That is amazing!!
In facts every games i played that showing a really huge distance about top ranking player compare to pro tournament xD it's a smurfed, lost is normal things ranking player should take.
Tournament players are usually considered “offline players.” Even tho they do play online, but they primarily play against each other more than in Kombat League

You should try experimenting with Shujinko Kameo to try and counter Kenshi. You get the full ancestral spirit, and can do some prett nasty combos against Kenshi with the entire cast.

Sonic who do you think is number 1 Kenshi or Baraka? I think Baraka cause he doesn't even need to open your defense to kill you and his damage is fckin ludicrous. Btw considering this guy is ranked 1 in the world his Kenshi is surprisingly not that good. The player himself is fantastic you can see from the movement and neutral but he's not that impressive at using Kenshi
@@5ean5ean22 I know. My point is that he's not using Kenshi as well as I was expecting from a player of this caliber. You can see he's a very good player, he's a pro as well I've seen many of his matches but I don't think he's very good with Kenshi specifically comparing to other kenshis I've seen

And this Ladies and Gentlemen is why I ALWAYS main a character with a counter, but even then….I’m sure I’d get hit by at least 80% of Baraka’s attacks.
